I was first introduced to Ringside 43 years ago. The food and service have been consistently excellent all these years!
Nice experience. Excellent service.
Excellent experience. Food was outstanding. Our server Scott was on point and made sure everything was perfect for our meal.
Amazing ! Don’t miss the onion soup ! The prime rib is so yummy !
We were seated right away, the food was great, service was wonderful. Just an all around great dinner with friends.
A great place for an expensive steak. I always think it’s funny when they sit brand new customers at a not so good table... we were right next to the kitchen swinging door which is a bit annoying. Our waitress was knowledgeable and very nice. Food was good, soup was slightly cold... first batch of the evening since we had an early reservation. Maybe oven temp wasn’t up yet... a once a year kind of place due to the prices.
Very good Service, I Iove the menue very good tasting, would come again!! Thank you!
Our dinners were wonderful. My son has SIBO and cannot eat any potatoes. He asked for a substitute side and the waitress said that he could have spinach. She did not mention a $12 charge for the spinach. When my husband pointed out the charge on the bill she said that it is our policy. My husband was very unhappy with her attitude and he reduced her tip by $12 .
Please share this with RingSide Steakhouse.
Everything from valet parking to dessert was perfect. Delicious food, friendly staff, and excellent service.
The food was amazing. I have been before and have had better service. The waitress and hosts were extremely short with us and were pretty rude. Went to another restaurant for dessert because it was that bad of a vibe from the workers.
Everything was A+, but the lobster mashed potatoes were amazing.
My $67.50 steak was not as great as it had been in the past. I will go back though
Fantastic dinner with a great ambience and wonderful service. The food was beyond delicious and would definitely venture back!
I was visiting Portland on business. Found the Ringside Restaurant thru Portland Dining Month at Oregon Live (lots of great choices, wish I was in town longer to try more of the places listed). Had a fantastic three course meal (greens, prime rib and creme brule) at a very reasonable price. They made this visitor feel very welcome. Looking forward to future visits to Portland (and the Ringside). Great job!
Your web sight has a picture of a t bone steak, and when I went to order it, I was told we do not serve it. Why have it on your web if you don't serve it to the public?
We came in for Portland dining month. We ordered the dining month menu and added a couple of offered add-ons. The food was delicious, our wait staff were pleasant, courteous and quick. I had a great wine from Washington, but can't remember the name, a Cabernet. We will be back!
The food was excellent as was the wait staff and everyone in the restaurant. We had the special meal so the price was great. I don't know if I will go and pay "normal" prices as my appetite isn't that big to rationalize spending that much money for a meal. The inside atmosphere would have been better had the day outside not been so beautiful.
SERVICE WONDERFUL. FOOD PERFECT. AMBIENCE FANTASTIC. AGAIN ANOTHER PERFECT BIRTHDAY. !!!
Excellent steaks. Pricey so certainly more special occasion.
Our server was excellent: attentive without hovering, good suggestions, appropriate sense of humour, and voluntarily went above and beyond. Food was delicious, absolutely. My only challenge was being seated right by the kitchen door. It was ugly, noisy, distracting, and kept the experience from being relaxing. Instead, all that hustle bustle created an undercurrent of rush rush rush.
I can remember eating st the Ringside as a child and throughout my life. When I am in Portland I try to get there and will always highly recommend the Ringside.
I am a long-time Ringside patron, and it pains me to write these comments, but I was very disappointed with the new preparation for fried chicken. As always, the steaks, side dishes and service were excellent, but I hope that the Ringside returns to their traditional preparation for fried chicken. The new approach was similar to an oversized Chicken McNugget, rather than the battered half chicken we were expecting.
Still one of my favorite restaurants in Portland for everything. The best service experience, food, ambience and value.
The Ringside is always consistent. Food quality is wonderful and atmosphere can't be beat for elegance and class. Waiter was terrific.
Ringside always does a good job with their menue, food quality and service.
Perfect, only complaint is the brick ceiling makes for a really loud space.
The Portland Restaurant Month menu is a steal at this upscale restaurant where the regular menu items are more expensive. The portions are not huge (and that's good), but they are very tasty.
Absolutely love The Ringside Steakhouse. This time, however, our waitress got one of the orders wrong and not real sure she was that invested in our table. Other than that, absolutely high quality food, good prices and overall great place to dine.
Went there for dining month. Saw they had some good specials on their food as well. A little noisy that night, but it didn’t take away from the great eats.
We had the Portland Dining Month menu and it was so good I want to repeat the visit. We also ordered an amazing bottle of wine to go with dinner that was recommended by our waiter James
Food was excellent. My wife and I will certainly be back. Everything was great!!
I love the old Portland ambiance of this restaurant. The service was superb. It is a little pricey but the quality of the food is very good. Perfect for a date or a quiet dinner with friends. I will return.
This restaurant experience is ALWAYS outstanding. The menu selections are first rate and the Long Island Ice Tea is exceptional. Best restaurant on Downtown Portland!!
We were seated early , great service, excellent food. I will say the green salad
lacked a bit but it was ok, it is used to hold the great house dressing. I love this place and wanted to go for my belated birthday.
Hadn't been to ringside in few years not the same quality I was used to used to eat there a few times a year. Will not be back could get the food for a lot less $$
Wonderful, rich, warm furnishings with an extremely helpful staff. Even tho the restaurant was full, it still felt intimate at our table. Love the food here and will be back to try other entree's soon.
They had a special offer via e-mail. The meat (Medallions) was so tough, you could not chew it. Out of 4 of us, three sent most of their food back unfinished. This has not been the case in all our years of dining there. Don't ruin your reputation over something preventable.
Best steak in the Northwest ! Every time I come to Portland I make a trip to Ringside. 5 star service and food!!!
Food was ok, it certainly wasn’t one of the best steak’s I’ve had. Waiter was poor- didn’t know the menu well. Also, a simple request for balsamic reduction wasn’t allowed. Said the “chef doesn’t have time to do that for you”. Places like Mastro’s will always accommodate, even if not on the menu. I would not go to the Ringside again.
The Ringside is rightly listed as the top steakhouse in Oregon, and is certainly the last local old-school steakhouse extant. The service is superb, the surroundings luxurious, I love the Jazz/Oldies music, and the recent remodel was tastefully done with a careful nod to the legendary decor. The astronomical prices are similar to other high-end steakhouses in the area, but the food quality and presentation are leagues beyond and represent an excellent value. Steaks are seasoned just enough and brushed with a beef au jus/tallow glaze that carries the perfectly cooked meat into orbit. The dry-aged steaks are intensely flavorful and tender with a nutty, buttery quality I've never before experienced. The gastronomic overload--including the best Caesar salad and onion rings I've ever had, and a Ferrero Rocher-inspired chocolate hazelnut dessert--rendered me mostly speechless throughout the evening. This was my mother's seventieth birthday and she is still raving about it. Even a leftover steak--heated up the next day in the oven--was one of the best meals I've ever had. It's an ideal special-occasion destination and well worth saving up for. Although I am not a king, I certainly felt like one dining at the Ringside. I salute the staff and ownership for their commitment to excellence and to preserving the art and science of fine dining. All too often we forget that The Ringside was one of many such places with similarly stratospheric standards. Alas, it's one of the very last. Come get some while you still can. It's more than worth it. I will be back, and I will bring my friends. My highest recommendation.
