RingSide Steakhouse - Uptown
We had a wonderful time celebrating our anniversary for the second year in a row at ringside. We can’t wait to come back after they reopen!
We had a wonderful dinner and our server Katie was amazing, she treated us like we were VIP's and took care of our every need. The onion soup was amazing! My steak was cooked perfect and the garlic mashed potatoes were yummy!
My family and I go to Ringside every March for "March dining month". We have always found the food to be excellent and the service friendly and attentive. We will look forward to going back again with a smile on our faces.
I was not surprised that the Ringside would be slow on a night like tonight, the day before all restaurants were ordered closed because of the virus. Still, I had to have my French onion soup, steak, garlic mashed and crème brûlée. Oh, and a dirty martini with olives. A personal tradition I do every March 15th. And as always the service was superb by Monique.
I'll see you again in a few weeks.
Everything was wonderful. Kelly was our server she was amazing and The food was flawless.
Great meals. We had a nice, quiet corner table. A better value than chain steakhouses.
great for dates and families. The prime rib is always recommended
The food and service was amazing as always. The only steakhouse I go to.
It was so loud sitting in the arched brick dining area - we could barely hear each other. The service was exceptional and the food was very good but way too loud back there! If I ever go again, I would not sit back there.
It is always a pleasure to dine at RingSide Steakhouse. The service is always welcoming and friendly. The food is always top-notch, and prepared well and served attractively. The ambiance is consistent--this is a place that feels like providing a pleasant, attractive background to excellent food and gracious service is RingSide's total reason for existence.
Always worth going. Best lobster I’ve ever had. Our server Jessica was the best.
When you want to enjoy a great dinner and fabulous service then Ringside is a sure bet. Every time!
This is our favorite restaurant in Portland. We no longer go for special occasions. Now we go for prime rib Mondays, we went for the March Portland restaurant month, and we love the steak bites and onion rings if we are looking for a smaller nibble in the bar. We always have excellent service, excellent wine and food. We are never disappointed.
We had a fantastic evening. Our server was exceptional. The food was delicious and the ambiance was great as usual.
Mary is a great waiter, and it was nice to see a woman in that position.
The dining month menu was absolutely delicious. Portions were abundant and my steak was perfection. Our server was not engaging--did her job, but wasn't welcoming. I had to send my cocktail back because it was not made as I requested. Although my steak was fabulous, I was disappointed in the appetizer. We ordered onion rings which used to be the signature appetizer for the Ringside. These rings looked like food service frozen, hard battered, deep fried rings--similar to fast food chains--not at all the lightly battered, fresh dipped and fried rings of the past. I'm truly sad for this change.
To die for good. My friend and I had the best time.
What a pleasure it was to dine at Ringside! You feel a little transported back in time just walking through the door. The ambiance was intimate and cozy, but unpretentious. We took advantage of the Portland dining month deal and it was delicious with really nice portions. The real highlight of the experience, though, was the service. Our server, Collin, was exceptional. His timing was impeccable. He made a wonderful wine recommendation on an affordable bottle that we were really impressed with. I can’t wait to go back.
Everything was great. We were in a s side room. 4 men at the next table were very load. Been there a while.
Went for Portland dining month, which is very worth the cost. The overall ambience was very moody and would be great for a special occasion.
Outstanding service from Kate and the steak was delicious, likely the best I have had since moving here 2 years ago.
Went for the Monday Prime Rib Special. Food was delicious and the service excellent. Highly recommend the Monday night menu.
The food was great the atmosphere was beautiful but the service well beyond fantastic. Everybody that works there from the hostess to the wait staff to the busboy we're on top of it. They make you feel like royalty while eating there.
We went for my partner's birthday and had a beautiful time! Scott was our server. He was very professional, yet warm and fun. Our meals were decadent. The ambiance and setting near the fireplace were inviting. It was a classic, upscale steakhouse experience. I look forward to returning.
Portland dining month
Iconic old Portland steakhouse that never fails to disappoint. Onion Rings are a must and go extremely well with their house dipping sauce.
When one is thinking of Portland "old school steakhouse" the name Ringside should instantly pop into mind. From the red vinyl seating to the original light fixtures designed by the first owners, this place is classic! The good folks there have been around almost as long as when we discovered that meat tastes really, really good when introduced to flame. From the moment you step into the incredibly dark cavern of a restaurant until the sad moment when it's time to go, you are embraced in the fine and delicious cloak of Portland's perfect steak house. Dry-aged steaks that literally melt in the mouth will satisfy anyone's need for everything steak. The personable wait staff is quite possibly the best component of this equation. Knowledgeable, patient and kind people who'll treat you like they've known you for years. Simply the best!
So if you're hankering for a steak and folks that'll treat you right, The Ringside is the perfect place for you!
All very good. Dining Month or not, this is a favorite restaurant of ours!
Perfect meal, amazing service, and overall a night to remember. Thanks again!
Best meal (and service) that we’ve had in ages. So impressed with this restaurant, we’ll certainly be back.
Every detail was first-class, which is hard to find any more in our casual society.
The food & service were above average as expected. My guests and I were quite pleased.
A complaint was lodged however, when I discovered there was NO toilet paper in the ladies room. Seriously NONE! It was only 7:45pm so there really was no excuse for this major fail.
This was a family get-together to celebrate an anniversary. We included our son, his wife and his two kids - ages 9 and 6 (their first fancy restaurant). It was a fantastic evening and the kids did great and tried some new things. The waitress was very attentive and did an excellent job of talking to the kids directly..
It was such a lovely treat to dine at the Ring Side Steakhouse. Definitely will be back.
great Portland steakhouse, consistency in all facets, don't change, and i'll continue to patronize.
My date and I went for restaurant month. For an appetizer and the 3 course meal we were there for 2 and a half hours. We waited a while before we were greeted by our waiter and even longer befor we were served water. We also waited a while for our bread. Other tables received theirs pretty quickly after ordering. The food was good. My date really enjoyed his onion soup and my salad was satisfactory. I ordered my medallions medium-rare. All except for one came out perfect. It was moreon the rare side. With all that said, our waiter was exceptional. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and easy to talk to. I think he realized we were waiting a while for each course so he offered us a glass of wine. Maybe Ringside is amazing the other 11 months out of the year or maybe they just had an off night. But based off my one and only visit there, this isn't any place to write home about. I hope you have a more enjoyable time than my date and I did.
Jessica and all our servers were fabulous... as was the onion soup, haricot vert, potatoes, and creme brulee. I was disappointed in the steak, but realize that they were pumping out food for Dining Out Month. We will return and try the regular menu.
Ringside delivers a consistent high quality dining experience! Wouldn’t go anywhere else un Portland for a celebration. Ringside delivers on a fine dining experience and the highest grade beef in town!
We went to try the Portland Dining Month menu. Everything was wonderful.
Very good traditional white tablecloth steak house. Has the dining month menu along with some of their signature onion rings. Everything was well prepared and elegantly served. Will return to experience their regular menu
