Awesome place love the atmosphere love the service food was excellent.
While the food was amazing. The short-staffing and waiting 20-25 mins for a drink refreshing and desert was disappointing. $300 meal and it took 2 hours to be served overall.
Sad to say, I doubt I would recommend this place. The prices are outrageous, even for a steakhouse. Over $60 for a rib eye, and it was very fatty. I would think for that price, it would be thoroughly trimmed. That being said, the veggie sides were good and service was adequate. If I’m going to spend well over $100 per person, it will definitely not be there next time.
We err there for 2 birthday celebrations! Our friends had not been before and loved it! Our server David was superb! Made everything about the evening that much better! He was attentive, fun and didn’t hurry us at all! The food was amazing as was the creme brûlée dessert! The Ringside doesn’t disappoint!!!!
I have always wanted to go here and finally I did. I took my nephew for his birthday. We had such a great time, we plan on making it an annual outing.
Unfortunately not a good experience. Had to send the drink back, has to send the halibut back (obercooked and dry). Been there several times and it’s always been enjoyable but not this time. Not our favorite wait staff
Onion rings good however.
We had the best evening taking the family to dinner. Our server Scott was very kind and welcoming to us and our kids. They thought he was magical! Best manhattans and steaks in town.
I have been eating here for decades. This by far the worst service I have ever experienced. This experience would make me think twice before returning.
The menu, ambiance and table arrangements are particularly great for a celebration!
As usual, it was wonderful.
We went to celebrate our anniversary and it was a wonderful dinner. The service was attentive and friendly without being intrusive.
Ringside is our go-to for celebrations- best service, wonderful food and stellar wine list. This time we all tried the Monday prime rib special for the first time. A great value and the quality was no less than the regular menu. Last minute changes to our reservation were handled smoothly.
We brought our 14 year old granddaughter here for her birthday. She loved it! And we enjoyed our favorites. The only complaint is that the service was quite slow.
What can I say, I selected Ringside as it was highly recommended by a trusted friend. I was visiting from out of town and wanted to celebrate a dear friend’s birthday with fine steak, and we LOVED it!
The wait staff was very attentive but not overboard. Our waiter was s fun man, very witty, and a pleasure! The onion ring appetizer was delicious, the salad was so tasty and fresh, and the filet was perfection! I would eat there every night if I could!
Since we were celebrating a birthday, we shared an amazing and delicious creme brûlée to cap off our feast :-)
Thank you, Ringside, for a truly wonderful evening!
Very good as always!
First visit was not that great but to Ringside's credit they ask us to come back and try again after they saw my negative review. This was a much better experience and I chalk it all up to the server, Keli. She was knowledgeable on the menu and wine choices. Food was very good both visits, try the octopus appetizer, it's great.
Great service and food! This is the place to go for a special occasion!
It was amazing. First time here, loved the food and the people. Had good conversations with some fellow guests. Loved it. Definitely recommend
Best steak I've had on a long time. Fab Onion rings, small size, was a huge portion. You could easily split the salads and the steaks.
Ringside is our family’s tradition for my daughter’s Halloween birthday. Every year consistently delicious food and excellent service! Best steak anywhere!
Ringside has always been perfect for us to visit on special occasions. I don't know of any similar retro-steakhouse restaurants in the area, so I hope Ringside stays around forever.
Everything was excellent!! From beginning to end they astonished me with their great service and delicious food. Will be back again and again!
Our server Colin was so pleasant, professional, and efficient. He made the dinner all go very smoothly with his personal touch. The other employees also were very professional and pleasant. Thank you!
One of the few restaurants where the staff treats you with respect. They all look clean and are “dressed” to serve you.
The food is outstanding and the service is impeccable. Don’t forget those awesome onion rings too. Always a pleasure to dine there.
Food excellent. Service excellent. Our waiter was friendly and helpful.
Outstanding evening. Staff was very friendly, attentive to our needs, and the food was excellent!
The best best meal I have had in Portland.
Beats Ruth Chris hands down!
All was excellent
The Halibut was the best I’ve had.
This was a complete miss! Server was terrible. Totally cheesy guy. The fried chicken sounded amazing but was rubbery and overcooked. We were sat in the back dining room which felt like the kids table. We eat here (in the bar) at least once a month if not more. The dining room was very cold.
Nothing better for a fine steak in Portland, and perhaps as good as you can find at any steakhouse. Reputation is well-deserved.
Service and food was excellent like normal!
Ambiance was right for an older customer base. Would not recommend for millennials. The appetizers were okay, no super memorable but not bad. Everyone’s steak at the table was cooked to the perfect temperature and to our preference. They have that going for them! Playing and presentation could use a little work, not instagram approved.
They have a wide variety of wine selections and cocktails as well!
I would return if I was a local and was going to dinner with my parents. But not if you’re coming from out of town and planing a get together with your fellow millennial friends.
The history and backstory of the location is interesting. Complimentary valet with outdoor parking is included around the corner. The front door is not marked and could be easily missed.
The front foyer of the restaurant is nice. There’s some seating and you can wait at the bar if your table is not ready yet. We arrived 10 mins early before our reservation and got seated right on time.
Fantastic. Great service, drinks and delicious steak.
Exceptional food and service. Warm and inviting atmosphere.
Rib eye steak and sides served to perfection. Extensive wine list.
Great place for special events or evenings out!
Didn't have a problem getting there a half hour early and being seated to our table. Server was very helpful and staff was awesome. For a first date sitting in the wine cellar setting was great. Food was made to order and was delicious. And the valet service was quick on their toes coming and going. Will always make this a place to stop for birthdays or just to have a great steak and bottle of wine. Thanks again :)
I heard about this restaurant on the Food Network and decided to check it out in a recent trip to Portland. It exceeded all expectations.
The only criticism is the Argyle Champagne was not cold enough. For most champagne drinkers, it is desirable to have VERY COLD champagne. it would be nice if you could keep it in an colder place.
The staff and waitress were very professional and made the dining experience pleasing. The food was exceptional. We’ll be back for sure.
For a steakhouse the steak was a bit dry and it shouldn’t have been for that price. That being said. The service was really nice
