We went to Ringside for a birthday celebration. Very nice, and romantic. The staff very nice. Edward our waiter was 5 star.. We both had the scallops, and prawns. Prawns fantastics, drinks fantastic..... Scallops tasted like an old fish tank. Kinda mushy, bad flavor. Even with that i would still recommend this place. JUST DONT GET THE SCALLOPS LOL😀
Great food & terrific service! 3 course menu is a great menu choice.
Excellent service. Two hours after we had dinner, I discovered that I lost my validated ticket to the parking garage. The restaurant took care of it with a friendly smile when I came back. No questions asked.
Nancy was an excellent server! Food was delicious.
Such a wonderful place for any special occasion👌 In my case, we were celebrating my husband's birthday. The personnel met every request that I've put in with my reservation. My husband was pleased, surprised, enjoyed the food, definitely liked the place and the atmosphere. I will recommend this restaurant to anyone who wants to surprise their loved ones. It's also a family friendly place.
On of the most bizarre evenings. Great service initially the bar was fun, good energy. Our server at dinner started out great and then something went completely sideways. Long delay with the main course food was cold. Very strange. The food could have been great but again served barely warm and for the price quiet disappointing.
Had dinner here tonight, service was super good but food was not up to standard at all. My son’s salmon was undercooked, my steak was over cooked and my dad’s halibut was also over cooked.
Great experience from the moment we sat down to when we left. Best described as causal elegant. A knowledgeable sommelier who was helpful and very easy to interact with. Often restaurants of this caliber are so absorbed in the artistry of the plate that they forget that the food should be interesting and taste good as well. The chef and his team at RingSide truly “get it” with a wonderfully presented plate with thoughtful flavors, interesting components and a touch of comfort food. We will go back next time we are in Portland.
My husband and I went to Ringside Fish House for our anniversary. The service was excellent. The staff was very knowledgeable and helpful. The food was also excellent. We both would highly recommend this restaurant to our friends and family.
Surf and turf: shrimp excellent: meat very bland
This restaurant has excellent service. They really helped with the meal selection. They have a wonderful selection of Oregon Pinot Noir wines. Great choices of seafood.
Great food, great service, and very accommodating to dining with toddlers.
Enjoyed a Saturday evening dinner here. Started with cocktails in the bar while we waited for a seat. Service in both the bar and the restaurant was impeccable. The attention and quick service added to delicious food (we both ordered steaks that were cooked just as we hoped). The wine was perfect!
We arrived early and were seated in the bar. The staff there was wonderful, friendly and informed. After being seated in the dining room things went down hill. The server was snooty and forgot to deliver drinks after they were ordered. The food was mediocre at best.
Came for dinner/drinks before The Schnitz concert, arriving 4:30 pm for 5 o'clock reservations made thru Open Table...Parked with ease in Tower, caught elevator upstairs to Ringside, greeted with smile, escorted into lounge. 5 o'clock, hostess came for us, taking drinks/hor d' oeuvres to dinner table. Tender steak medallions layered on top of hot pad of mashed potatoes with side of broccolini, blue-cheese salad, creme brule w/hot coffee..little over 2-hr. dinner with incredible wine, delightful conversation with window table, a hint of sunset sunshine....awwww! Five Star dinner and staff incredibly efficient/pleasant/knowledgable....Gem for sure.
The food was excellent and the service was even better! Great experience.
We ate at the Ringside Fish House as part of Portland Dining Month, so we had the 3-course fixed menu. The food was very good and interesting, with the exception of the dessert (creme brulee) which was ordinary. The service was excellent and very professional! Nice ambience, and our table by the window provided the ever-changing action in the small park in front of the restaurant.
As usual, excellent from the lobster bisque to dessert.
This restaurant is super corporate feeling, like a hotel restaurant. Food is good, service a little obsequious. Good to bring your republican in-laws.
Great food, great experience as always. We love Ringside Fish House.
Steak came out over done, but they re did it correctly. Expensive steak.
Fabulous food (lobster) in a quiet environment with terrific views. Friendly but not intrusive wait staff. Highly recommended for a special occasion! Well worth the cost.
Outstanding food and service! Everything was prepared/cooked to perfection and the drinks were also fantastic. Our glasses never got below half full as the servers were on point all night long making sure we had everything needed to enjoy our meal. You get what you pay for; and if you want some of the best seafood you will ever enjoy, then your search is over.
I would the restaurant, but not during Restaurant Dining Month. The service ambience, and crowd mixture was a compromise for a fine dining atmosphere and celebration of a wedding anniversary.
We went for Portland dining month. The steak dish was good, but not spectacular, the fish dish was not good at all, and the desert was just okay.
Good food and view. Ate way too much. Special date for Portland Dining Month. Onion rings are fantastic and server Ari was top notch.
A wonderful dinner with a good friend before seeing Hamilton
The rockfish was not over cooked and in a nice curry sauce
They decorated my dessert plate for my birthday
Really good restaurant within walking distance of hotels. Great service and really good food. New things to try but a bit pricey.
Our server did not know what a classic cocktail (the Martinez) was. We eat and drink in the bar all the time and your bartenders are excellent. A server can't sell what they don't know. The food: I did dining month and though the salad and the dessert were fine, the green curry entree was watery and bland. My husband's whole fried fish was delicious however.
Although we went for March Restaurant Month, we'll be back again soon, I hope. The service was just right. Our server suggested to add the lobster bisque as a $2.50 supplement, and we were SO glad we did! I loved the rockfish, especially because it came with perfectly cooked veggies and a lovely light sauce. My friend had the steak and said it was delicious. There were lots of business folks, but the noise level wasn't excessive at all. A real treat.
The Ringside Fish house never disappoints you, the menu is packed with interesting new items alongside familiar staples. Not to be missed are the Onion rings, which are almost a main course item.
quality of food desires improvement especially it is on special promotion.
Food just ok. Service excellent. But noisy
Excellent place! Our waiter was knowledgeable, kind, and VERY good with our group. We will be back.
Service is super slow, horrible compared with Ringside Uptown. I don’t even know why they call dinners for pre-theater, you would be late for every show. The onion rings were very greasy and the house dressing was very runny, gives their famous onion rings and house sauce a bad name at this location. I would not recommend this location of Ringside, stick with Uptown.
We know that when we have dinner at this restaurant, it will be more expensive than most other restaurants, but when we get hungry for fish that is beautifully prepared, combined with impeccable and "over the top" service, we always choose Ringside Fish House. We happened to have picked an evening during Portland Restaurant Month and ordered the three course featured choices at $33 each. We upgraded the soup course to their lobster bisque—and it was worth the extra $2.50. I had the Rockfish, elegantly prepared, and my date (husband) had the Mediallions of beef that was exquisite. As always happens, with a Martini each before dinner and one glass of wine each with dinner, our tab, before gratuity, totaled $131. We will always return when we are in the mood for a very special experience dining out.
Great food and view. Very well intentioned staff but the amount of times we were asked if everything was okay seemed a little excessive. We appreciate their care
Ringside was awesome for our families celebration of her birthday. Manager came over and wished my wife a happy birthday including a free dessert. Very nicely done.
