Rinata Ratings and Reviews
Rinata is a family favorite. Especially during the winter, when the Italian style interior feels warm and cozy. The menu lends itself to cozy dishes that feel like they may have been braising all day. It is like a warm bear hug on the most brutal of winter nights. And when temperatures dip a score or two below zero...that is no small thing.
We sampled a number of menu items, and all were very good. Quite frankly, what we liked best was the ambiance...it was QUIET, although much of the restaurant was filled while we were there. Very nice setting for an anniversary dinner, as we could easily have a conversation. We will go back!
Every trip to the Twin Cities includes a dinner at Rinata's -- an authentic Italian bistro. The food is sublime -- nearly everything us made from scratch from the bread (which is truly out of this world -and I never eat bread at restaurants) to the pasta to the tiramisu (another item I rarely eat but which is redefined here). Even the house wine is great. Enjoy!
I love rinata. A hidden, seemingly secret neighborhood gem, this was the first time i had sat at a table and seen how the dining room really fills up! I am happy they are thriving. We were having a low key five person birthday dinner and even though the room was full of other large parties it wasnt too loud or crowded. I only felt bad for the server having to manuever through the tiny walk ways. Food is great and well done especially considering the price. We shared a couple apps and everyone finished their pastas. Cocktails seem ok, however i usually go for wine. The soave is amazing. Dessert w house made gelato is also lovely. Our server was so sweet and as attentive as she could be while still serving every table in the joint. She often checked in to let us know shed be with us soon and we didnt mind the leisurely pace. Adding one WA might benefit the dinner rush. I have also sat at the bar for date night which is a great deal and a lovely atmosphere. Will be back again when i am craving pasta :) also random but their mussels are amazing and i hope they return to the menu sooooon!!
We went during restaurant week. The tasting menu was varied with selections and we enjoyed all. Food was excellent and service was great considering they were booked solid during restaurant week. We will be back in September and hope to get the room off main dining for a group of 8.
I went with a friend to Rinata for dinner during restaurant week. They accidentally brought my friend the wrong pasta dish and my friend didn't realize that until he had taken a bite. They offered to bring him the dish that he ordered, but the dish he got was delicious, so he felt there was no need for more food.
Our meal was wonderful and I was given a great wine recommendation. My pasta was also delicious and we both got the salmon for our entree. Everything was so yummy and we left feeling quite full.
We ate pretty slowly and took time between our courses; we were there for about 2 hours total and didn't feel rushed at all. The waiters were very informative and welcoming.
It is a dark restaurant as the shades are always closed, but that makes it feel really cozy. We went on a very hot day, and even though the did have the AC running, I don't think that I ever really cooled down (maybe that was due to a combination of red wine and warm food). Regardless, I would definitely eat here again. It would be a good place for a date or to take my parents for a nice dinner when they're in town.
It was a hot day in Minneapolis, but didn't think it would be hot in the restaurant as well. It was so hot that me and 3 of my friends were actively sweating while sitting there and the back of my legs against the chair in the dress were drenched. Other than no air, the food was decent. Waiter was very busy and didn't have much time to deal with us let alone get us more drinks or water.
we visited rinata for restaurant week. the restaurant week menu was fantastic, with four courses! truly enjoyed the cheese and sweet corn filled ravioli with red pepper sauce and the sambuca tiramisu. the salads we had were lovely and fresh too. i would say everyone was disappointed with the main course, either a steak or salmon, neither wowed the group. the atmosphere was also lacking. it was an extremely hot day and the restaurant was uncomfortably hot, dark and cramped. we tried to eat as quickly as possible so we could escape the hot little room, when we would have rather had a leisurely meal enjoying our four courses. we live by their sister restaurant, al vento, and would choose to go there first any day! we've also been to their other restaurant, sparks, and enjoyed that much more too.
Rinata was a wonderful! I drive past it all the time and it is easy to miss as it is in a strip mall like building, but I am so glad we made a reservation. It was a cute quaint place that is perfect for a relaxing evening and conversation with a date or friends. The food was AMAZING. If you love Italian, definitely check this place out!
Hidden gem, this was first time at Rinata, for restaurant week - we absolutely loved it! We ate at the bar, the bartender was helpful and friendly. Enjoyed a lovely 1/2 price bottle of prosecco, inventive salad courses (one with pickled peaches!). My second course was gnocchi - I honestly loved it so much I saved half of it to take home, third was salmon, perfectly cooked and moist. Tiramisu and gelato were final - I had hoped to get the pistachio gelato but they were out. The mocha flavor was excellent! All in all just a wonderful evening
We went for restaurant week. From the outside, the restaurant doesn't look like anything to special but the food is delicious! The restaurant is rather smaller and it was a super hot Minnesota day and the AC was not working. Everyone in our group was pretty uncomfortable! I will definitely be back though, just maybe not in the summer.
We have been to Rinata's about 6 times in last year and a half and food has always been very good....this time it was closer to a 3.25. I still will go back as it may have been an off night. We were cerebrating 2 friends 60th which I told them so I thought they may do something special but did not.
We have been to Rinata many times. Always fabulous. Until our visit on June 23rd. I had the fettuccine. Very disappointed. The noodles were hard, sitting out too long hard. The dinner was cool, not hot. The shrimp tasted greasy. I would not order this dish again.
This place is great. Went there two weekends in a row. Servers are attentive and helpful without being annoying. Lighting and ambience is great, dim but not dark, music not too loud. Food is incredible and fairly priced. Good for a date or casual meal. Surprisingly empty, probably overlooked by the other flashier restaurants in the area, but they're missing out. Highly recommend the prosciutto-wrapped peaches and the sweet corn ravioli. I'll be back for sure.
