Rim - Grand Sierra Resort & Casino Ratings and Reviews
The shrimp dish I had was phenomenal. The sauces were absolutely delicious. I was amazed by the number of shrimp in each tasting sample. It was huge portion of shrimp for the price. The sweet spicy sauce was amazing with a slight spice to sweetness on the palette. The service was very prompt and the food arrived in a timely manner. The fried rice was not greasy and was tasty and fresh. I look forward to come back and dine at Rim. I want to try the All You Can Eat Sushi next time. Rim is a high end Chinese food restaurant that will tantalize your taste buds. It was nice to dine at a restaurant where I didn't feel like I was in a casino.
What a wonderful experience.
We have been to Rim several times.
This dinner met all our expectations.
The server was at the top of her game.
Very pleasant and just the right level of casual conversation. Our order was taken and everything arrived cooked hot and on time.
I had the Mongolian beef...OMG..what a delicious meal.
My wife had sweet and sour chicken.
Again it was perfect.
I made a special effort to compliment the manager about our wonderful experience.
In the past we did not enjoy the meal and on occasion sent our dim sum back since it was( the pork,) was RAW.
Not this time...
It was refreshing since they apparently have a new chef.
We will definitely return again.
Please give them a try.
Made a reservation for Christmas day dinner through Open table. Arrived 10 minutes early for reservation, and was informed by hostess, that they had given away our table by mistake! She told us that it would be at least 30-40 minutes before another table was available, and that we could eat at the bar. Bar was not that busy, bartender took quite a while to finally take our order. Drinks had still not arrived by the time the food finally was served. Had to remind the bartender that he still had not made our first round of drinks. Bartender copped an immediate attitude! Quite possibly the worst Rainbow Roll I have ever had, very small pieces that were tasteless with hard avocado in the middle. Reminded me of the sushi you get at a supermarket, but not that good! With all the great Reno sushi and Oriental restaurants available, this is one I would never go back to. Overall a miserable dining experience for a holiday meal. I was born and raised here, not impressed with GSR.
We arrived to Rim at 6:00 for dinner and they had no record of our reservation. Had to get the manager to show him our confirmation. We were eventually seated but the manager seemed unconcerned about our reservation not showing up. Food was mediocre. Will not return.
Hamachi Kama was the best...but we got the last one at 5:10 pm. Came back on Saturday and by 5:15 no more Hamachi Kama. RIM needs to buy more so that it lasts for at least the first hour. We were disappointed the 2nd night. Salmon Skin hand rolls are also the best we've had.
The personnel (hosts and wait staff) were outstanding and very accommodating to our last minute reservation changes. We were seated in the wine bar area which has a bit less ambiance than the regular dining area. This actually was better as we had two small children that could be disruptive to an intimate dining experience. There are no options for children on the menu but our server offered several items that children seem to enjoy. My wife and I ordered from the family style menu and found the food wonderful even though it gave us too much food. Next time ala carte! We are locals and will return to the delicious options and great service.
Our original reservation was for 4 people, however we had one extra join us at the last minute. It was a very busy night as there was a concert that evening in casino -we had to wait a few minutes extra which wasn't a problem and the staff was very gracious in accommodating this change to our plans with the extra person. The sushi was excellent.
We reserved a table in the restaurant, and had a seat at the bar for drinks before going in to dinner. The bar was a little noisy, but the restaurant seemed quieter. When it came time to be seated, the hostess directed us to a table in their overflow dining area, which was in an adjacent wine bar. It was noisy there. We sat down, and no one came to serve us. After several minutes waiting, we informed the hostess that we would just as soon eat in the bar. The noise level was the same, but the service was much better. We cancelled our reservation, and went back to the bar where we enjoyed an excellent meal and great service.
