We sat outside on Pearl street side. Beautiful ambience. Extremely attentive and professional service. Excellent food. Would go back in a heartbeat.
Wonderful food, well conceived, prepared and presented.
Device was almost too friendly. Highly recommended.
Great food and service- Simon is an excellent server!
Great place to share plates so you can try more thing. The mussels were the best ones we've ever eaten, plump, and delicious!
Food was exceptionally delicious, fresh, and nicely presented. Meals were kind of like "plates, nothing large, but all very good. I had to order a separate plate for the 2 of us to satisfy us.
But at $10-$15 each, was comparable to a normal dinner for 2 in a bar like setting such as this. Went on Mothers day and glad I made a reservation. Place seats maybe 40-50, so not very big. Nice location on Pearl street mall, good feng shue between waters staff and table seating arrangements.
Everything from the food to drinks to service was incredible! I will definitely be back!
Good food. Service was a bit slow but our server was pretty slammed. I like Riffs. Will definitely be back. Nice vibe.
Riffs was very enjoyable. The waitress was professional, knowledgeable about both food and drink, and noted several times that we were celebrating a birthday (mentioned in the reservation). The atmosphere is casual and on the noisy side (in a fun way). The space is small and thus the tables are relatively close together, so some eavesdropping is inevitable.
Overall the food was delicious - we really enjoyed the pea hummus, and the fish dishes were well made and tasty. The menu and drink list can be a bit interesting with so many unfamiliar words, so it was good to have a great waitress who could help us along. We'll definitely come back.
The upside is that cocktails and small plates remain very good, the burrata and brussel sprouts in particular. The selection of large plates is limited. We had the chicken which was surprising ly tasteless, with a limp romaine leaf that though not poisonous was pointless, and the pork which was over done and quite tough. My two previous visits were much better, so let's hope it was an off night.
Best place in Boulder! A new favorite. Creative cuisine, all dishes are beautifully presented. Nice wine list. Fresh and seasonal specials.
we met friends and had a fabulous slow delicious meal!!! my oysters and curried shrimp were outstanding and the belgium ale was out of this world. def coming back for more!!!!
This place is better for small plates and cocktails than main dishes. We both ordered a seafood special and found it pretty not-special. We thought our drinks and starters were lovely, however, especially the hot dates.
Good food. Quite solid on the fundamentals. Nice place.
Awesome! Totally going back - I really recommend
Everything was great!
The food and ambiance were excellent. Will definitely go back in the future.
Had a wonderful dinner. Food was excellent, and so was the service.
The food was not up to its usual standards--- burger and four fish dishes all overcooked and under seasoned! Disappointing. Mediocre service.
We love Riff's. The atmosphere is casual and friendly, the wait staff is excellent, and the menu offers plenty of interesting, tasty choices. Among the appetizers, don't miss the grilled avocado and the flash-cooked brussel sprouts. Riff's is a great place to get together with friends.
This restaurant was recommended by a business colleague and I enjoyed it so much I scheduled two business dinners and one friend group dinner within two weeks. I'm ready to return to try more of their wonderful innovative and delicious menu items!
We made our reservation and they had just started with Open Table; therefore, actually didn't have any openings. They were extremely accommodating and comped us a cocktail while we waited. It was SO worth the wait. The food is spectacular and the service was outstanding.
Delicious lunch needless to say!
I had not been to Riff's before this past week. The selections were very unique, and everything we ordered was absolutely delicious. The server was outstanding, as well.
excellent dinner and service - very pleased.. first time dining here and will come back
Lovely waitstaff who tries hard to please but food was still tardy and over cooked. Food bland - nothing special for the price tag.
Was in town to visit the University of Colorado, Boulder. Looked for a casual, not too expensive, place that served upscale cuisine in a local environment. Found Riff's on Yelp, and am glad we did. It was the perfect spot for us to have a nice discussion about school, hang out together and have a lovely meal. It was busy but not overcrowded. We had made a reservation earlier in the day, and were seated immediately upon arrival. Had the beet salad with added salmon, my daughter had the chicken dish with cannelini beans. Both were excellent. They were also very accommodating with our nut allergies, omitting on the salad and allowing us to change the ice cream served with the warm chocolate cake! Will definitely try again as many items on the menu sounded delicious.
Still one of our favorite Boulder restaurants.
Very much enjoyed this place. The Tapas all sounded (and tasted) so good we never ordered an entree. Very good service.
Starting with the list of unconventional starters, including my favorite figs, than you could move to completely new meal, generally very tasty and not too big. So you will have a place for great deserts. The thing worth trying are different cold teas and lemoniades.
Riff's Urban Fare has become my go to place for absolutely spectacular food. I love the calm, laid back atmosphere, the attentive but not intrusive wait staff, and the most zen chef I've ever seen at work. What an absolute gem of a place.
Thanks for the free dessert and Birthday Candle. The cocktail hour has great bargins on food.
There is nothing not to like about Riffs. It has something for everyone except a limited wine list. But otherwise it’s great. Kitchen was very accommodating. No grouchiness about asking for a change in ingredients to make a non vegetarian dish into a vegetarian dish. Honestly, I didn’t give them 5 stars just because the facility is a little loud and cramped and like all Boulder a little over priced.
Delicious meal, attentive service. Enjoyed the atmosphere.
Always excellent, this time outstanding! menu changes often so some old favorites and intriguing new items as well. Snagged the last seat outdoors on a beautiful day...wish the umbrellas provided a bit more shade but worth the pleasure of being on the Mall and glimpsing the Flatirons..
We have been here several times over the past years. This time was exceptionally good.
I can't say why exactly, it was just terrific! All the dishes at our table were fantastic.
And nice wines to match with!
Thanks to Chef John for another great meal.
We were coming into Boulder late Friday night and I was able to make a last minute reservation. It was jumping but they sat us pretty quickly. I had looked at the menu previously and found lots of great choices. The family all got the burger which was prepared beautifully! I had the amazing pureed soup and beet citrus salad. The wine list was good and we enjoyed the chocolate flourless cake. We had a great time and felt satisfied. It was a little loud, but as the place was clearing out we enjoyed a better ambiance.
well prepared food with an interesting combination of tastes....
You were very busy and the quality did not suffer a bit. Great food, great waiter. Always a feel-good experience!
Went with friends for lunch to celebrate one of our birthdays. The waitress was very attentive and helpful. We had the Brussel sprouts, the beet salad, and a Cuban sandwich (one of the daily specials) with the flourless chocolate cake for dessert. Everything was delicious! I can’t wait to go back again!
