Ridgway Bar & Grill Ratings and Reviews
The owner greeted us and offered us several lovely indoor or outdoor spots. It was restaurant week, so there was a special menu, which was well priced and inviting. We did not order from that, however. We started out with mussels, plump and in a tasty tomato based sauce. I had the sauteed grouper and my husband had the pot roast. We both enjoyed the fried green tomatoes as a side. Everything was delicious. The cocktails looked like fun but we stuck to wine by the glass, and selections were all very nice. The waiter was knowledgeable and pleasant. We have been coming to this restaurant once or twice a year for many years and it has never disappointed. The chef constantly reinvents cuisine , and there is no lovelier setting in Naples.
One of our favorite restaurants when we get to Third St. in Naples. The food is always excellent. One of our favorites is the meat loaf. It was very tasty and generous in size. Our friends had the veal, and that was also excellent. The cosmopolitans were excellent as were the other drinks. Only wish that there was happy hour at the table as one of our party is disabled and cannot maneuver bar stools. Our serve, Rhonda, was efficient, thoughtful and caring and very pleasant. Love the garden area for dining. Lovely atmosphere and quiet enough for dinner conversation.
This was about the worst dining experience I have ever had. We arrived at 7.45 on time and we wanted to order an appetiser before ordering an entree. Three people asked us to order the entree before we wanted to, the last time saying that if we did not the kitchen was worried they would run out of our preferred option. The restaurant was deserted. We were basically forced to order. When our entree was served, we were asked to order a dessert, we were told that if we did not the kitchen was concerned they would not be able to prepare the dessert before they closed the kitchen. The time was 8.40, the restaurant has an advertised closing time of 9.30. The server kept checking if we had finished our entree, she kept looking at us. As soon as we had finished she delivered the dessert with the check. No chance to have coffee or a digestif. We decided to pay and leave. Our check was timed at 9.01. We were made to feel very unwelcome and extremely rushed. It made the food, which was average, irrelevant. I have tried to contact the restaurant twice to see if they had anything to say but they have ignored the request. The owners/manager must be very arrogant.
This is an expensive restaurant with a high profile in Naples. I suggest that people think twice before going to it.
The multi-course, traditional Thanksgiving meal was outstanding. Well priced for generous, flavor-filled portions. Pleasant and efficient staff on a super busy day. Best of all I didn't have to shop, prep, serve or clean up. A new Thanksgiving tradition is born!
Food was presented cool, french fries seemed to have been cooked earlier in the day. Veal dish barely warm. Vodka martini super salty (not dirty), sent it back and the second one exactly the same.Waiter not very attentive. Too pricey for what it is.
We will not be returning.
There were times when our server acted as if he was doing us a favor by taking our order. He seemed to be looking for a fast turnover, not two friends who wanted a leisurely dinner to catch up. For instance, I ordered my wine and my friend was still making her decision, he left the table to get my wine and then had To make a second trip to get her order. Very odd thing for an experienced waiter. Eating on the terrace was delightful, the owner stopped at tables near us but did not even nod at us let alone stop to at least say hello. I felt that either two ladies eating together was not worth his attention or maybe we would not return. Again I found this unusual and odd behavior. Normally when the owner iS cruising tables they make it a point to stop at all the tables.
Food was very good. Waiter came out with great service and then just started to disappear as the dinner went on. I actually went into the kitchen to get a second cup of coffee and we had to take the check up to pay. Waiter finally showed at end like nothing went wrong? Setting is somewhat dated
What happened???? New menu for the "season"? Prices have gone up, service went down and food quality and quantity went down. We surely hope after "season" you go back to the quality, quantity, and good service we have had many times before at your restaurant! This past visit was not good!
It was just a few days into stone crab season so we devoured 4 medium-sized as an appetizer with our drinks.
Our server, Scott, was very friendly and described a number of dishes we might enjoy for dinner that evening as we sat on the side veranda overlooking the gardens/fountain.
The sauteed snapper was fresh and succulent...as though just caught earlier that day.
The shrimp in the shrimp n grits also were super fresh and tasty. The sweet corn grit cake, however, was too pungent from the ham.
The apple pastry dessert topped with cinnamon ice cream was heavenly.
Look forward to returning on our next visit to Naples.
I was extremely disappointed. I had suggested this place for brunch with friends. The waiter was non-existent after we declined ordering drinks. The French toast portions were minuscule. The water for the tea was tepid. This was NOT the restaurant I had enjoyed before. It will be awhile before I venture back there!
Sunday brunch was a great disappointment..everything my wife and I ordered was brought to the table Luke warm or cold. Particularly disappointing was the fact that some of the items were creative and could have been very good.
One might say that this is what you should expect from brunch however these items were ordered from the menu and assumed to be fresh and warm, where appropriate.
This is not the first disappointing meal we have had here but it will be the last.
Ridgeways is a reliable establishment that I go to when I want to make sure things go well. They have lovely tables inside and out and tables spaced far enough apart you aren't hearing everyone's conversation. We ordered the snapper which was simply pan seared and lightly seasoned, just what we wanted.
