If you try one thing, make sure it's the fennel lemon donuts.
Rider was very good. Only complaint was long wait for the food to arrive. But the complimentary donuts at the beginning of brunch were amazing! Meals were all very good. Service was very pleasant. We would go back.
Love the lemon-fennel donuts! The brunch is great and if you arrive early there is always a lot of seating options. Fills up fast, tho.
Great food and service.
Fabulous food and exceptional service. Only disappointing thing was we saw the chef on TV preparing banana bread French toast which is no longer on the menu!
I chose this place for a group brunch because the menu had a little something for everyone. Rider did not disappoint. We all left happily well fed. I will definitely be going back.
They were great! Their food is definitely tasty and fresh, some of the items are definitely homemade so the taste might through you off at first can but it DOES taste lovely!! The service was spectacular! Very friendly and accommodating! Overall it was an amazing experience
This place used to be amazing, but a slip in consistency of food quality and service have really left me not wanting to go back here. Last several times I have been there have been serious issues with some of the service staff. This last time my food came out absolutely cold. Not even warm, straight up cold. When I asked our server to fix it he responded in about the most condescending tone I have ever heard. "no PROBLEM, ill get you some... HOT... food RIGHT away". I was blown away - i have never been met with such a poor attitude over something that was clearly their fault and a failure of the person on expo. When the food is good its very good, but im going to give this place a good long rest after that.
Great service amazing food.
Great local venue with an eclectic sharing menu which is expertly prepared and served. Lower level with bar and seating plus an upstairs dining room. Good cocktail menu and very nice wine list. All in all, a lovely evening in a real owner-run restaurant.
This place was incredible. My girlfriend and I went here after some plans were cancelled last minute. I cannot emphasize how great this place is to share a couple plates with your significant other.
It was our first meal here, we will definitely return. Everyone was pleased with their choices.
Had a really enjoyable experience here. The food was excellent, service was great and the ambiance was quiet yet sophisticated.
it was delicious , inventive cooking
We went just for the donuts - which were amazing! We also tried the Creme brûlée and goats cheese panna cotta - all great. Service was very friendly.
Our waitress named Deirdre was so sweet ans accomodating. Had a nice quiet table upstairs. The brussell sprouts and crab, hot fried chicken and gnocci was delicious.
Prior to going to Rider, I had not tried tapas-style dining. What I can say, after a meal of superbly prepared and thoughtfully served food, is that I will certainly be returning to taste the other offerings from the vast menu. Each dish had a distinct flavor and the contents were paired exceptionally well, and with a characteristically Brooklyn flair.
There is truly something for everyone on the menu, which was another factor that made the meal stand out; in one dinner, you can taste cuisine that bears origin in vastly different parts of the world, but not compromise on the flavor and authenticity of the food.
Food is fab! Something for everyone and so delicious. We will go back again and again.
Great food, friendly staff. Excellent Bloody Maries. We go back any time
Inventive menu and delicious well-proportioned dishes that can shared. Reasonable and very friendly courteous staff.
Rider was the perfect place for a large group brunch with my mom and friends. Food was good and the service was fantastic! The bananas on the table when you sit down (to head off any hangry people) is a nice touch.
Pleasantly surprised had an awesome brunch here last Sunday. Everything we ordered was delicious!
tasty food, awesome staff. desserts are extremely yummy!
We went the evening before Thanksgiving to enjoy a meal with our son whom we were visiting in Brooklyn for the Holiday. We were seated promptly though we arrived a few minutes early. The cocktail menu was innovative. My son and I tried "The girl with the barbed wire tattoo", a lemongrass infused bourbon drink with ginger beer. Our server, Will, was extremely knowledgable about the menu choices and we were wise to follow his recommendations. Loved the duck confit wrapped in Swiss chard, the roasted winter vegetables, and the braised short ribs (so succulent and rich). The portions are not gigantic, and Will wisely suggested we share five choices among the three of us. Fortunately we were able to save room for dessert, so we enjoyed sharing the panna cotta and especially the candy cap mushroom cream brûlée. It doesn't sound right, but it definitely works. We would definitely return when visiting Brooklyn again. A special thank you to Will for making our dinner so delightful.
Very good. i love the ambiance here and the food is phenomenal. It's a great local spot.
Great food...well presented and interesting unique combinations.
What a find! The food was marvelous - inventive and super tasty. Brussels sprouts and crab - wow wow wow. Grilled vegetables - best ever. Fish great - we tried them all because of the tapas like sharing concept. Lamb - gamey, just how we like it.
The staff was helpful, enthusiastic about the food and did not steer us wrong. We will look forward to eating at Rider before concerts at National Sawdust as much as the concerts themselves.
Love this place. Great addition to the neighborhood. Lots of exciting flavor combinations, and all small-plate/shareable dishes to encourage lots of sampling and menu exploration! Service is always super friendly
A great restaurant in Williamsburg. Very friendly service, and the food is very innovative . Great to test different plates together with a group.
Delicious and creative food, cool ambiance, helpful service
Excellent food. Nice presentation. Generous portions. Good service. Terrific evening.
Five of us went to see a performance at the Sawdust Factory - an exciting new music performance space. and Rider adjoins the space in trendy williamsburg...happy hour very nice with delicious fresh massachusetts oysters at $1.00each and reasonable wine by the glass. the small plate menu is creative and well prepared... worth the trip!
One word: DONUTS. They will not disappoint. Also had the fried chicken sandwich and Bloody Mary which were delicious. Very pleasant seating outside and good price for what you get. Will definitely come back here for brunch!
Inventive food that isn't off-putting or fussy. Ingredients are fresh and the portions are good, even for "small" plates. Service is excellent and very professional knowledgeable about the menu. This last point can be a problem in Williamsburg, but not here. Great people watching with the sidewalk tables and dogs are very welcome.
I have been wanting to try Rider for a couple of months and I was not disappointed. They are mostly small plates so my friend and I shared 4 dishes, which honestly was way more than enough. The portions are generous. We started with a salad that was simple and tasty. We shared the gemelli mushroom pasta, sea bass and roasted vegetables. I think the gemelli stole the show. I am excited to go back with my boyfriend because my friend is a vegetarian so I didn't try any of the meat dishes.
Restaurant was unable to honor our reservation so we had to go somewhere else.
Rider was amazing! Came for brunch with a group, made reservations because I wasn't sure how busy they would be for brunch. They open at 11 which was our reservation time so I needn't worry about waiting for a table, we were the first people there! They had a good amount of sidewalk seating which filled up fast on the warm summer day! 10/10 would go again!
Had dinner at Rider with a friend and it was a great experience from top to bottom. Very attentive wait staff and delicious food. The flavors were perfect - the right (and often inventive) combinations of salty, tart, piquant, sweet, and spicy in everything from our small plates to dessert. Can't wait to try it again.
Small restaurant, creative dishes, excellent execution, very friendly staff -- all I am hoping for in a casual, bistro style restaurant. Our group only tried the vegetarian and seafood option and liked all of them. The plates are meant for sharing, so an outing with friends / family is probably best here. Highly recommended.
Cute restaurant, server was nice and friendly. The meal was well balanced. Need like 4-5 dishes for 3 people
