We are always pleased with Rick's Seafood dinner options. Staff is congenial. We never feel rushed and are able to have a leisurely meal with good food and good conversation. Portions are generous and we appreciate no corkage fee. We will keep coming back!

I wish I did not have to give even a one-star rating. It was the worst OpenTable restaurant I have ever visited. There are only 14 tables, and we were the fifth table occupied. Only one server was employed (with no busing assistance), and she had to do everything. She was scattered and slow, and the kitchen was also terribly slow. We waited about a half hour for water, and an hour for our salads, which were not cold. When the main courses finally arrived, our party of four was terribly disappointed in the quality of the food itself after reading all the great reviews here. Patrons seated after us were served before us. The people at two other tables walked out after waiting too long, and another couple walked in and walked right out after seeing what was going on. There was also a problem with pricing and the way a coupon was handled. We would never return to this establishment.

Food was good plus the two waitresses went non stop. Busy place but no restaurant feel to it. Dark and tight you were allowed to bring you're own wine people love that it needs a little more atmosphere

very good seafood but the restaurant was seriously understaffed; only one waitress for about 15 tables full of people, and the poor girl also had to work the cash register and help people at the take-out counter! Took us hours to get out of there.

After driving past this place for years, I finally tried it this weekend thanks to a coupon I had received. The food was great! As the place is actually a fish market one would expect the fish quality to be excellent, and it was. Service was rather slow, both to take our order and to get the included salad and our entrees. As for atmosphere, you're sitting in a fish market, so don't expect a fancy place. But the food (blackened tuna for me, grilled shrimp for my wife) was excellent, as were the roasted potatoes and fresh veggies that were included as sides. It's BYOB -- we didn't take advantage of it but many people did.

Consistently delicious food whatever you eat there. I started with the mussels in white sauce and for an entree had the coconut crusted red snapper. Yum! The others had the shrimp francese and the sole. We all were very satisfied.

Can't believe I just discovered this place. The food was excellent, as is the bring your own wine policy. The Asian style calamari and the seared tuna specials were especially good, with a sophistication you would expect to find in a fine dining establishment. I will definitely be back soon.

We always enjoy coming to Rick's. I used to not be so adventurous in my meals but when I come here, I always look to try something different. I usually get the oysters on the half shell and then a meal. Sometimes i order from the evening specials when there is something i haven't tried. The seafood is always fresh and they also sell the fish to take home and cook yourself.

This neighborhood gem is actually a fish market by day and a superb restaurant by night. Located in an obscure strip-mall in Mahopac, this is a great place for very well-prepared, exquisitely-fresh seafood. And, they also have some pretty nice looking steaks available as well. Try the "Asian" style calamari; its the best I have ever had. The scallops were excellent and came with great sides. Everyone's food was prepared perfectly and the service was prompt, efficient and all of the staff were friendly and eager to serve. I can't wait to go back!!

We have eaten here many times. They are noted for their seafood dishes which are always fresh.
They also sell fish to go and to prepare at home. It is a BYOB place but you can buy by the glass as well. I like the stuffed lobster or stuffed monkfish. Others had the sole with pesto sauce, twin lobster tails, stuffed shrimp, salmon. There were no complaints.

Went to celebrate my wife's last day of work. She wanted lobster so she picked out a 2.3 lb one and loved it. They were out of the beer she wanted so our waitress sent someone out to get it. Now that's service!!

Local wonder--- Have always wanted to go-- and decided to give it a try since through the years it has been recommended...
Value and offerings of different fishes ! not just the same ole standards of sole or salmon....
Will be a regular "go to" place now......
OPEN TABLE reservations recommended! It got very busy......

Have not been to this restaurant in years. It is just as good if not better. Wish we had not waited so long. All fish and vegetables are fresh. The balsamic vinaigrette is the best I have had. And they sell it there as a bonus. The wait staff was very patient and knowledgeable. Will be back much sooner.
