Rick's Cafe Boatyard
Art, our server was fantastic. He answered all of our questions and was happy and friendly.
We love the atmosphere and view along with the great tasting food! It’s our go to place for all occasions!
Great experience. Service wasn’t superb, but she did a good job.
Excellent service with a great environment. We got there just as the sun was setting on the reservoir.
Everything great as always. Lovely view, great food and service.
I loved that there was a lunch menu, in addition to the full dinner menu. The portions were very large and tasty. Our server was an amazing young lady as well!
Brunch is always a good time to go. Everyone ordered something different, but all was good. Server was great!
Live music, amazing food, and great views made for a great evening dining at Rick’s Café Boatyard. Can’t wait for our next visit.
We have not been to Rick's for several years. The location and restaurant are awesome, but the food has taken a turn for the worst. My wife had the scallops, her comment was Bonefishs are much better, I ordered the Pork chop, which was way too tough and chewy. Neither of these meals were worth the price charged, and I doubt if we return to this establishment.
We enjoy going here. Tonight the service was not as good as it has been in the past. Very slow to being acknowledged after being seated. Did not check on us after food was served. I had to ask for another drink and the check. Good thing I enjoy this place and have been here several times or it might have been a place I would not return to.
I had the trout and my mother had the fried catfish. Mine was delicious but hers was overcooked. Dessert was yummy, the view even on a rainy day was wonderful! Still a favorite!
Great restaurant, great service, great experience. My steak was dry in steak salad. Whole Lobster very expensive. Very kind staff. Made our birthday memorable!
The food was good. It was a birthday dinner. We had a nice time.
This was my first time ever dining in the restaurant . My wife and I celebrated our 18th wedding anniversary and decided to have dinner there. The hospitality was great, food delicious and the live music was spectacular. We will definitely recommend this place to everyone.
Dinner here was the highlight of our trip to Indianapolis! What a gem! We were seated before sunset and it was beautiful across the water. The service was fantastic and the food delicious! My husband said the huge oysters were the best hes ever had and ordered second! The Hawaiian chicken and lobster tail were fantastic. Desserts are a must as well...we especially liked the mud pie and the espresso creme brulee.
Would definitely recommend this fantastic restaurant!
The food was delicious, the prices were reasonable, our table was by the window overlooking the water, and our Server was a complete gentleman!! I totally forgot to get the name of the background musician; but, he was FANTASTIC and I hope that he's playing the next time we go back!
We returned to Rick's to entertain an out-of-town family member for dinner. We reserved a table so we could see the sunset. We were not disappointed, but we would caution you if you elect to sit on the deck in October. Although the deck is enclosed and "heated", the flooring has lots of openings to the cool air below. Not comfortable at all.
The food was delicious as every time we have eaten there. The server was very capable and personable.
All 3 of enjoyed our food. I had the Cajun blackened catfish and found it fantastic.
Of course it is impossible to have a better view (especially when the Fall trees are radiant with color). The food was well prepared just like it was described on the menu. The service was very adequate and normal.
Waited for over 25 minutes for a menu once we had been seated outside. Went and found a menu for ourselves finally.
This wasn’t the server’s fault - it’s mismanagement.
There were over 100 guests outside alone and only 4 servers (including the bartender).
I overheard other tables saying the same things and expressing the same frustrations.
We made reservations for 12:30 and had our food at around 1:35. It sort of ruined our plans.
The ambiance is not enough to make up for the subpar service.
Celebrated my husband’s 82nd birthday at Sunday brunch. Really happy that we could also order from the regular menu!
Best restaurant n the MidWest within walking distance of a general aviation runway (Eagle Creek airport). Food is excellent, and great views.
The bar staff was wonderful!!! The wait staff was good until they got busy but still ok. Someone kept messing with the light level and that was distracting but overall we will be back for sure
Somewhat pricey, the food is not bad, but not extraordinary.
Perfect atmosphere and great food! The servers are fabulous people!
Ricks never fails. Love the food and service, appreciate the strong drinks
Lovely way to celebrate birthdays together! We all enjoyed our food and the fall waterview.
Overall good experience.
Great food, good prices, great service and wonderful ambiance.
Excellent meal and service! This visit at Rick's went above and beyond. After our credit card slipped out of the binder during payment, our card fell though the cracks of the deck outside. There were at least 6 servers and support employees helping us to retrieve our credit card. After several failed attempts, we almost gave up and then one server went above and beyond to continue to try other avenues to retrieve the card and was successful after about 30 minutes. I don't know how many restaurants would have done this. Thank you Rick's!
This place is not only our special occasion destination but is our neighborhood restaurant of choice. Always great food, service and amazing view to boot.
Our food was well-prepared and hot, and our server was polite and efficient. We were there after church on a Sunday afternoon when there was live music. The singer/microphone was entirely too loud! We could barely talk over the music. This really did affect our experience in a negative way.
HAD SUNDAY BRUNCH. WAS GREAT! ONLY DOWN SIDE WAS THE LIVE MUSIC WAS A LITTLE LOUD, BUT IT DIDN'T LAST THROUGH THE ENTIRE MEAL. OVERALL HIGHLY RECOMMEND.
Booked outdoor reservation and were told it would be a 20 minute wait for outdoor seating when we arrived. The food was overpriced and underwhelming and the staff felt like we were in a fast food restaurant not at a restaurant this expensive.
Made a reservation for the patio only to be told that even though I made a reservation and showed up on time that there would be a 20-30 min wait. Were then seated inside and could see several open tables ready to be seated on the patio. Server seemed like she was super hopped up on caffeine and to top it all off, the food was overcooked (fillet).
As expected all was impeccable. Art was attentive and gracious. Small criticism: bourbon variety is lacking. Four Roses my choice and was ok, but should not be my favorite on a menu. Woodford should be added at the least!! Thanks for a great evening!
LOVE this place. First time visiting and will definitely be back
Met friends at ricks for dinner and drinks. As always it was a very good experience.
Very nice venue with scenic views of the sunset. Our waiter was forgetful and used excuse that he was really tired from being there since 09:00am (this was around 6:30pm). There must have been a large party on the upper deck because the music, specifically the bass, was very loud, making it difficult at times to carry on a casual conversation at our table. Food was good, but nothing extra special, for the price. Would go again but perhaps ask to be seated somewhere quieter and not near the door leading outside. There was constant traffic from wait staff and guests in and out the door which was annoying.
We like Rick's. But our server this time really wasn't wonderful.
It won't keep us from returning though as the food and atmosphere are lovely.
