Rick's Cafe Boatyard
The outdoor patio is always amazing! The atmosphere and the lake make this a great place to dine!
Great food and atmosphere. Only problem was they were very unorganized with the seating. Although we had reservations we were seated by the server then asked to move tables twice by different servers due to table mix ups. We usually don't go through this but they were definitely not organized. Once the seating was straightened out the rest of the dinner was fine.
I reserved a week in advance for dinner to celebrate our Anniversary. I put that on the reservation.
Most restaurants do their best to make your experience a little more special for those occasions.
When checking in for our reservation exactly on time, the hostess said we would have a 20 minute wait for what I requested which was outside seating unless I wanted to go to the bar area and find a table on my own. WHAT????
I stated that I made a reservation and didn’t shouldn’t have to go “find a table”. She told me to stand aside and they’d get to me as soon as they could. After about 15 minutes one of the assistants said to follow her to our table. We got to the area and she stopped and said that another assistant just sat someone else at our table and we’d have to go back!! We walked back up front and waited some more. Finally she took us out to a table on the outside deck - right next to the bar (very noisy) which was not the ambiance I was looking for. Not once during the entire evening did anyone even acknowledge our Anniversary which I found disappointing.
I will say that the food (crab dip/chips, bacon scallops, blackened grouper) was all very good and enjoyed our food. We were both disappointed in the key lime pie for dessert which tasted very bland.
Even though the food was very good, our overall experience was very disappointing for a special evening.
A celebration after a year of hard work and long nights of getting Cowork 1010 Coworking space to its Grand Opening. Rick’s was our choice because of its great food, and fantastic views! They did not disappoint!!
There were lots of knats flying around as well as on the window sill by our table in the bar. Our server had zero personality!
Kendra didn’t even place order for Soup before dinner. She brought dinner but No mayonnaise. She offered to place order for soup after our dinner arrived.
New owner, poor service. Noise level the same, kinda high
We were seated by a table of about 30 people even though there were plenty of other open tables nearby. Nobody came to our table for our order so we asked if we had the same waiter as the table of 30 and another waiter finally came by. We ordered drinks and my Pina Colada tasted like watered down pineapple juice, so when I complained, I was brought another which was fine. We had to ask for bread which was automatically served to everyone else. We were dressed nicely so that wasn't the problem - maybe it was because we are older. The wait staff kept bumping into our table the entire time we dined because of the proximity to the table of 30. I ordered King Crab Legs - 1 1/2 lb for $90.00. The crab legs tasted fishy - I would bet they had been frozen. To add insult to injury, a waitress bumped into our table causing a full glass of ice water to dump into my husband's lap. The entire meal was almost $200 but we were treated poorly. There were a couple of "sorrys" as we left. We had a rehearsal dinner at this restaurant and have eaten there many times in the past. What happened???? NEVER again.
It was good food, good service, but some really obnoxious customers.
The food was good. The lobster was not as impressive as the salmon. The prime rib was great, but the mashed potatoes served with it were extremely dry to the point I poked them with my fork and the entire clump of mashed potatoes moved as if they were a solid object. Overall my experience was pleasant.
Everything was fine except I'm not sure why they give you the option of making a reservation for a certain time outdoors when they won't necessarily honor it. We reserved an outdoor table and got there to be told it would be 30 minutes minimum past our reservation to get a table outside. Too pregnant and hangry to wait so we ended up just sitting inside.
Food was good. View was wonderful. The restaurant seats a lot of people therefore really loud. Overall good evening and I would recommend it
Great evening on the deck. I put in a special request for a table on the rail overlooking the water and had no problem getting one. Our waiter was excellent and friendly. The food was very good, although my wife ordered Big Eyed Tuna RARE and it came out way overcooked. The staff was on it and brought her back a perfectly cooked tuna and even took it off the bill and we didn't even make a fuss over it so that was extremely great customer service! All and all it was a very good experience and evening!
Horrible customer service. Had reservation outside, but sun ended up shining directly on our 11 month old with no way to get her shade (normally sit under awnings there so first time with this problem). Asked to move and server let hostess know. 15 min later no update, went and checked with hostess. Said we were okay with inside since outside everything was booked (apparently outside reservations are linked to specific tables so no swapping). By the time I got back to table our dinners had been brought out. Since we hadn’t been moved they just sat our food at the empty table that was in the shade. A few minutes into eating a hostess comes by and says we’ll have to move since that table is reserved for a reservation at 615p, the time was 530p. I said we’ll be gone way before then. Was then told they need time to prep the table for their reservations. My reserved table had silverware rolled in a napkin with salt and pepper on the table, not sure why that takes more than 30 seconds to prep. At this point I was irritated so went to talk to manager. He was understanding (smile/nod). Went back to finish dinner. Finally able to get our check. Waited 15 min for it to get ran, finally gave up and went to find the manager again. Tried to talk to him again and he avoided eye contact and walked off. Most places make some effort to apologize, this place just blows you off and wants your money. Overall very frustrating experience because of the attitudes of the people working.
Great setting. Relaxing outside if you go in the early afternoon. Gets noisy when the crowd comes. Servers very personable!
Other than the young female hostess (more on her in a bit), Rick’s doesn’t disappoint! The food and drinks are excellent and sitting out on the deck watching the sailboats pass by is simply delightful. Their oysters Rockefeller are some of the best I’ve ever had and our entrees were delicious. Our waitress Shelby was a delight as well, but could have gotten our plates to us a bit quicker as they had cooled a bit. It was fairly busy though, so she is forgiven. My husband had the pasta with shrimp and scallops and that dish just might become our new favorite. Although their scallop entree is exceptional too! The only drawback to our enjoyment was the hostess. She walked up to us frowning and appeared to be angry at having to seat us. She never once acknowledged us, just grabbed the menus and turned around and walked off very quickly. We jogged to catch up to her only to have her spin around and yell angrily back at the other host. Then as she started to seat us we asked if we could instead sit up on the upper deck. She never replied she simply rolled her eyes, turned and walked away... with our menus! We found ourselves a table and sat waiting for someone to bring us menus. But like I said, other than that, our afternoon was a success!
I love eating at Rick's Cafe. I love the food, the service, and the music.
Food was ok. Nothing too special or spectacular. We at outside and it was loud.
Kendra was amazing!! This place is gorgeous and the food is fantastic all on its own but, our experience was even better with Kendra! She’s super nice and super attentive even we she had several tables to tend to! Loved this place and her!
Great food. Great view from table. Mariah was amazing
Great day to sit out on the deck. I was surprised how noisy it was, but they had the clear plastic windows pulled as it was a little breezy. Great food and service! Love it there!
Beautiful Setting, Good Food and Service....very LOUD.
I definitely recommend Rick's for the atmosphere. Sitting on the outdoor patio and watching the boats on the water during a sunset is absolutely stunning! However, If I'm basing this review on my last two visits that happen to be just one week apart, that is one of the few positive things I can say. The service received has been average. Nothing outstanding but nothing bad to write about. The Red snapper I had a week ago was very good. The shrimp steamer I ordered on my second trip was very bland. No flavor at all. Maybe I just shouldn't order the steamer?
Another area of improvement would be their cocktails. Both times I tried ordering the Rosemary Gimlet and both times they were out of the Rosemary syrup. If they no longer have the syrup, why keep it on the menu? Maybe I just happen to go during a bad week? The first week I just went with a regular Gimlet ( Gin and lime juice). It tasted like Gin mixed with a bad sweet and sour mix. The 2nd time I went and they were still out of the Rosemary syrup, i ordered a Paloma instead and wished I just gotten a glass of wine. If I go there again, that may be what I might have to do.
We sat outside on the deck, it was a very nice night. Service a little slow because the deck was slow but our server was super sweet and always had a smile. Food was good drinks were better and the music was nice. Highly recommend
It was one of those gorgeous early September evenings that begs for a night out at Rick's. Add to that fabulous service, outstanding seafood platter, and lovely atmosphere and you get the idea.
Nice venue on the water, excellent food and service (thank you Cory). This is not a typical marina restaurant-this is on the order of Bon Apetite in Dunedin, FL.
The setting can't be beat. Situated on Eagle Creek Resevoir it feels like you'Re at a resort rather than a restaurant in the city. The food was fabulous and the service was very attentive without being overbearing. It was a very enjoyable experience to end summer!
Great food the service was perfect our waitress was very jovial felt like a family member overall it was a great experience it was my wife's birthday party and she loved the place great memories will be back
When it weather is nice, sitting out side on the deck overlooking the reservoir is lovely. It would be great to have more vegetarian/vegan options. Seitan Wings, or Impossible Burger, etc.
Outdoor dining was great! Music was a fabulous addition too!
Having heard about Rick’s, I was very excited to experience to share it with my sweetheart. What an awesome, memorable evening. Our waiter Jacob was awesome. The night was romantic, there was live music, and even fireworks on the reservoir. The food was excellent. If you haven’t been, you should go. We had an appetizer and great meals. Under $115.
Really good location on the reservoir with a small marina. Great place to view a sunset. Pretty good selection of entrées. Indoor and outdoor dining plus indoor and outdoor bars with live music.
Beautiful evening in a beautiful setting. Food was good & our server, Mahria was excellent adding to our family’s enjoyment of the evening.
Food was wonderful but the temperature inside was freezing! The AC vents near the ceiling were blasting right down on us. Even the plants were blowing around. Apparently there is nothing to be done about it but I would never sit in the tables along the windows again!
Great menu! Came back for the crab filet which we love. This is a fantastic surf and turf meal.
Good food. Lovely setting.
Food and service was excellent, we sat on the patio which was very noisy. Next time will sit inside .
Birthday swatting was crowded toward the Mecca table. The lady kept bumping my chair
Food was excellent. Atmosphere very nice. Noise level very high, difficult to have a conversation. Waiter was pretty good; however we waited a long time for our check. We finally flagged down another waiter and ask him to get our waiter so we could pay.
Had a reservation but still had to wait over 20 minutes
