Rickey's Ratings and Reviews
After we had a very bust couple of weeks travel and visiting friends afar, we had a quiet period at home and took the opportunity to have a relaxing dinner at Rickey's. Our table was inviting and we had the customary excellent service and meal. Satisfying and satisfied.
\\We like Ricky's for a nice dinner when I do not feel like cooking. It is convenient for a nice meal. We love the three course meal option....the food is delicious. The only issue we have had the last couple of times there is the lack of service. When the waiters are around, they are wonderful. But that's just the point....we hardly see them after they take our order. Then when our meals are brought by the runners....we have to flag down our waiter for another glass of wine to go with the meal, or when we need fresh ground pepper on our salad, or grated cheese with our pasta. They seem to be over worked.
The food is reliably good, with very nice presentation. They have "small plates", but they are adequate for a meal. The noise level is energetic, but worth it. They do have music on the weekend. We bring grandchildren (not infants) and they are will received. We appreciate that they are in our neighborhood.
As usual, Rickey's excelled themselves. The band was great! The food was great! The service was great! The restaurant atmosphere rounds off a great experience. I talked to the restaurant manager about using the private room and the band for for a party and he graciously showed us the room and provided cards for the restaurant contact and the band.
we were surprised how much we enjoyed this cozy, comfortable, spot- very good food & friendly waitstaff make this a place I am sure we will return to - a bit of a drive for us but well worth it & quaint motel next door would make this a great spot for out of town guests
Enjoyed our Valentine's dinner here, our evening was memorable with the ambiance and Lady D singing in the background. Every table received a beautiful rose. My hangar steak was cooked to perfection, and hubby's halibut was succulent. The desserts were divine, nice way to finish off a lovely dinner.
Love Rickey's. One of our new local favourites after having moved here from Australia. Our 4th visit. Consistently good. Love the fireplace for cosy dining on a chilly night. Great prices, great ambience and we were treated to absolutely fabulous live music on our Saturday night jaunt with friends and a fussy 13yr old daughter who loved it. Menu caters for all tastes and diets. The entire restaurant was full, so I guess we aren't the first to love Rickey's. Suggest booking in advance, as this is a popular place.
Very happy with choice to dine at this freeway friendly option. Easy on/off and a quality spot with upscale food and decor. Staff were all professional and attentive. Food presentation was lovely on warm plates.....a big plus for me. Portion size was good. Warm corn bread was delicious but would not be my choice for our entree choices. Seared ahi was delicious as was the wagu beef with black truffles ravioli. Also crab cake appetizer was very good and beautifully plated.
I will return soon. Oh, did I mention the wArm lighting and fireplace coziness with adequate space between tables so you do not hear others conversations. A BIG plus😊
Came here again with friends and we always have a great experience. My husband and I ordered the filet mignon wrapped in bacon and it's mouthwatering. It comes with mashed potatoes and green beans. Everything is always so good. We also ordered crab cakes as appetizer--again excellent. Our waiter is always very welcoming and attentive. Water glasses continually filled. We have never had a bad experience here. I would highly recommend to anyone living in Marin or visiting from outside the area. Very reasonable prices as well.
We celebrated my husband's birthday at Rickey's - this was his choice. We've dined there before and have always been happy with both the food and service. The option of having smaller serving sizes available is perfect for us. He chose the filet mignon and I chose the seared ahi tuna. Both were delicious. We definitely plan on returning in the near future.
the food was fine...very good.......its the waiter that it all went wrong.....I had a groupon for 70.00 dollars.....and when we got the bill..it was 75.00 so I paid the 5.00 well when it came to the tip......the waiter counted his tip in front of me and said this is not 15% =11.25 I gave him 10.00 tip....I did not want to use my credit card.......he put the tip down and said to is not enough. And left his tip.....I was shocked.......I did not know really what to do.....I left the 10.00 and went home....here's the funny thing.....I also left a wine tote....and I'm yet to hear from Ricky's...about that......I don't think ill be back.....
Sadly the food was cold and undercooked. The noise level in the dining room was so loud that we had to shout or wait for the "Mood Music" to break in between songs to talk to each other. We have been here before without issue but this trip was a huge and costly disappointment.
The food never disappoints but...
I have been to Ricky's several times before, hardly ever during the live music. I have had both good and bad experiences, all staff realted. When we were there last Friday the food was excellent as always but the musicians were so annoyingly loud it ruined our evening. I was with my husband and mother~in~law and we evened up having to scream to hear each other.
If the food wasn't so good, I probably would would never go back.
