Great service, friendly, atmosphere, music, great food. Open areas for seating,
We came early and we were seated in a great booth. We had a great Cabernet as the dining room filled. The pace was perfect ant the foods was sumptuous and beautifully presented. Such a rewarding experience.
Was seated at the front door and service took over 20 min which we had to prompt for our drink and appetizer orders. There was live music going on but couldn’t see whatsoever with curtains.
Most likely will not return
Rickey’s is a great place for a get together for friends. One of our part of six had a birthday and we used the occasion to celebrate with friends. The music, service food and location are great. We are regular visitors.
Went in early, seated right away, totally ignored by waitstaff though not busy, so we left after 10 minutes.
Food was good but service was spotty. Our appetizers arrived the same time as our entrees. Had to ask for refills on soft drinks.
The food was excellent. Service was great. Would definitely go back to this restaurant. It was a very pleasant experience. Their blood orange martini was amazing.
We Just moved to Novato and this was our first date night here and it was a great choice. Very pleased. Filet could have been cooked longer. It was RARE!! Ordered medium cooked and should of sent it back but I really didn’t want to bother anyone or ruin the mood setting!! I would definitely return 👍🏼
At always, the experience was wonderful. Good food, good prices, excellent service. We will definitely return!
I always enjoy Rickey’s. Price fix menu is my favorite and makes a dinner out reasonable.
We had planned a dinner in Sonoma with friends, but the decent Firestorm changed our plans. This was a wonderful, welcoming best recovery option and we loved it!
I had dinner at Rickey's to celebrate a birthday for a friend because wanted to listen to the live jazz. Live jazz was very good and the singer came to our table which was delightful. Pomegranate martinis were not that good as the martinis were somewhat watered down and at $10 a cocktail they should be better. Service was very slow and although we had stated to the waiter that we would like to have a glass of wine with dinner he never asked before the meal if we would like to order wine. The salmon and rack of lamb was excellent.
We really enjoyed going to Rickey's. We were pleasantly greeted and sat down at our table quickly. The food was very good. We will come back
Rickey's is a lovely space and has a great dining ambiance. I always go there when in the area. Food is fresh and well prepared though not haute cuisine, still fine dining. I love the great home made cornbread
We had been traveling for the week and most of the weekend, and we had a chance to have a celebration at this masterful restaurant, so we got home early just for the worthy meal. We were happy to see the regular staff was back at their stations.
Rickey's never disappoints. We love to patronize this establishment because of their notable community involvement but it certainly helps that the food is delicious and the service is great.
Went there for a Saturday evening with friends. The place was very full and we had reserved a booth. The general noise level was very loud and with the jazz music going full blast it was difficult to hold a conversation. Happy we did not have a table close to the music, even though we live Jazz.
The food was excellent, yes, we will go back again but not over the weekend when entertainment is loud.
Had an outstanding time at Ricky's for my friend's birthday. We all chose the pork ribs with cole slaw and bacon mac and cheese, wow! So good, too much to eat, but we did. For desert we shared 3 different deserts: cream brûlée, gelato and fresh berries. If I had to choose one, it would be the cream brûlée, but they were all great. The live jazz music was a fun plus, if occasionally too loud. All in all a great evening.
The server was excellent!! In all fairness I think I just ordered wrong, so I will be back to try an actual entree! I ordered the mix green salad as a starter with the vinaigrette, very good and as my entree I chose the small plate, it was the portobella mushroom with a balsamic vinaigrette and vegetables. For me it was too much vinegar (tart) and needed something to go with it, maybe a brown rice or some kind of starch...I wouldn't order it even as an appetizer..not a good selection or menu choice! Anyway...I will try it again, my husband had the steak with mashed potatoes and asparagus, he loved it and it looked pretty! I don't have any pictures of the food, but it was all presented well!! It was my birthday and they brought me a molten chocolate cake (cupcake size) with a side of vanilla (looked homemade) ice cream, and a strawberry in whip cream...to die for!! Happy B-day was written around the edge of the cake in chocolate sauce! Live music is played on Friday and Saturday nights.....hard to hear to talk, but it was fun!!
We had time at home to celebrate my birthday and there’s just not a better place to enjoy some great food and celebrate special occasions. Or meal was beautifully presented and so very well prepared.
Was good ... celebrating daughter's birthday...they surprised her with a birthday dessert and surprised us by charging us for it...it would have been better if they had asked if we wanted a birthday dessert for $ rather than bringing it without our consent.
Nice restaurant- good food- good service and good atmosphere. Great drink menu as well!
We were two couples having dinner together and really enjoyed the evening. The food was awesome, service was terrific and the ambiance was outstanding. The music in the background really added to the experience. Good times, good times...
Rickey's is attached to the Marin Inn making it super convenient while staying there. We were very pleasantly surprised by the extensive menu and wine selections, the friendly service and the live music. We would definitely out of our way to dine there again!
Stayed at inn Marin. Rickey's restaurant is on site. Great/quick service. Very reasonable prices and perfectly prepared foods. More tganwilling to make adjustments to menus. Nicely appointed.
This is the place to enjoy and celebrate birthdays and it was mine, so even better!
After a week of traveling, this was an excellent "Welcome Home!"
We had been to Rickey's many times, but this experience served to take it off our list. First, they refused to serve us at the specific table that we had reserved because their server preferred to confine himself to their large separate dining area. My wife ordered a salad as her main course, and after seeing that salad served to another in our party, we asked to change her entree. We met with direct resistance--"the kitchen has already prepared the salad"--and we were charged for the cancelled salad in addition to her entree. My meal of filet was served with onion rings made the day before and with cold and lumpy mashed potatoes and cold green beans. The glass of Merlot with came with my prix fixe meal was undrinkable and had to be sent back. Need I say more? Don't go there. It is no wonder that it was practically empty on a Sunday evening.
We arrived at the dinner hour and got right to our table. Nelson did his typical superior service and the staff made sure we we will cared for.
We had a lovely dinner with friends,
Very comfortable and good food.
It was a busy night and the dining room nad the pool area was busy. Leslie helped us and she took the time to talk and get our ides. We had been shopping and had to celebrate a big buy. Rickey's was perfect.
I made the reservation by e-mail. I specified in our group there were 2 birthdays. The two birthdays did not get recognized. I eat dinner there quite often with another friend or two so I am very disappointed that the birthdays were not recognized.
Celebrated 2 Bday dinners w nice corner table by the pool. Prompt attentive friendly service w food items for all ages : 6-80s, crab cakes yum. Lamb chop, steaks , awesome dessert tray of molten lava cake, bread pudding cake and other bday treats!
After too much traveling, we came home and wanted to celebrate. Rickey's was perfect for our homecoming party.
We were at dinner (with a reservation) for a family celebration, and this included a young child and some elderly. Service people should know that it is best not to keep children and the elderly waiting too long, but that really does go for everybody of any age.
The restaurant was NOT crowded. So we saw no reason for us to seem invisible to the staff for almost 30 minutes. And then our food took a VERY long time to arrive.
back-up . . . . . When the waiter final came, I asked asked if there were any specials, he said there were but he would have to go and find out what they were. What ??? How could he not know the specials ??
Bottom line: service was consistently terrible for the whole meal. When I apologized, the manger seemed sympathetic, but did nothing.
We could not recommend this dining experience.
We celebrated a birthday. There were 6 of us and we all enjoyed our food. The service was a little slow but I think that was the kitchen. We will go back.
Nice atmosphere and the food was excellent. They have smaller entrées if you don't have a big appetite. Their small filet mignons were so good. Cooked perfectly to everyone's liking. Could do without the broccolini though. Their corn bread was so good I saved a piece for desert. The desert menu looked good but I did not have any - next time.
How wonderful to see Nelson back in the middle of the dining room! Our meal was just a bit better and our visit was made better with his attention and service. It was our anniversary dinner and we thoroughly enjoyed every morsel.
As always Rickey's was terrific.... the crab cakes are wonderful
Great place to dine especially for the value, early bird specials'
