How lucky are we to have Ricky's in Novato?! I love the fact that we can take a swim with our kids while dine on the outdoor patio. The ambiance is perfect for a warm summer evening. Thank you Ricky's for allowing this unique experience.
Slow service, mediocre food. There are plenty of better options in the area.
Children jumping in pool after 7 got splashed while trying to eat dinner- should be no jumping or splashing after 7. too noisy to hear across the table- food was late coming out -
Looking forward to their reopening after doing the renovations!! Hopefully, we will get an email!!
Good luck getting it done quickly!!!
Always enjoy ricks , however, my duck was fatty and cold, noise level from too loud. My wife meal was excellent.
We had been traveling in the Central Valley and Sierra Foothills and looking forward to getting home and a wonderful dinner at Rickey’s - served by Nelson and the wonderful staff! It was even better than we wanted! Great job!
Service was very slow. The waiter took the wine glasses away without asking if we wanted wine and was slow to get back to us to take drink and food orders. The entrees came out quickly but then we had to wait to get dessert menus and then had to wait awhile to order dessert. The dessert took a long tie to come out and warm desserts were cold and the ice cream melted. After that, we had to ask for our check. The overall experience was very frustrating and disappointing.
Was pleasantly surprised by the quality of service and food, and especially for the price points. All the meals were well prepared and priced very reasonably. Excellent rack of lamb. Would definitely go back for more (especially because of the very extensive and well marked menu of items that can be prepared gluten-free).
Always enjoy Rickey's but this time went for Jazz and too loud in dining room and cannot be heard on patio, Opted for patio because we wanted to be able to hear each other talk. Ordered the 3 course dinner and very disappointed in the food quality. Patio dining was pleasant.
We were meeting for a birthday
For my girlfriend, there were
4 of us for drinks and dinner
Unfortunately when we arrived
We did get a nice booth but
A live 2 man live band was playing which would have been great , the Amps were turned up so dinner conversation was out
I asked our waiter that could they turn it down and had just looked at me ! They should have been playing outside by the pool , way too loud for inside the restaurant, and they were really good too.
The food and drink was very good. It was just TOO noisy, we were sitting in a booth and the people opposite of each other could not hear any of the conversation. It is such a wonderful restaurant but we will not be back because it was just too loud that it was uncomfortable.
Had a nice dinner poolside with Mom. Lots of groups around us with kid in the pool having a blast. No other place like Rickey's in Marin. Nelson took great care of us. Drinks and dinner awesome as usual.
Ricky's is always consistent. Great food, great service.
Took the family to Rickey’s for father’s day, and had another great experience. The salmon bisque to start was outstanding. For the adult entrees, scallops, duck, and mushroom ravioli, were all excellent; and the two kids’ dinners (chicken tenders and pasta) were also well approved. And the desserts, warm lava cake ala mode, fresh berries, and ice cream sundaes (all with Fiorelli vanilla bean ice cream) had smiles all around. It seemed that there was a missing server for our table, but another one saw this, jumped in, and took great care of us in addition to his own station.
Excellent service and food
Even though we asked for Gluten Free, no croutons, our Caesar salad came with croutons so had to be redone. Came out quickly because kitchen simply removed the croutons. This is really not good for people who are allergic to gluten. The salad had to be redone from start and finally came out correctly.
We were greeted by a lovely young lady with a welcoming smile. We were given our choice of seating since we were dining at 6. Our service was a little slow in delivering our drinks but our dinner was delivered in good time. I enjoyed a "small plate special" and the scallops were just delicious. My friend thought his lamb was a bit tough.
Thank you for a great experience celebrating my daughters birthday out of town with 10 friends!!Well done Ricky’s!
We love this place. I don't live in the area, but my parents do, and it is one of their local favorites. My dad loves a good steak, and Rickey's knows how to do steak. I took the family there this time for Father's Day, and we discovered their weeknight 3- course special, and now we are hooked. It was plenty of food, and we were able to enjoy a salad, entree, dessert, and wine, all for a great price. I have had the flat iron steak and the duck, and I was not disappointed! Mom had the salmon and brother had the chicken. All great. Can't wait to try something else.
I had the three course special which included soup or salad, entree, and a choice of three desserts. The salad was very good. I also had the steak, which I asked for medium rare and it was well done. The chocolate cake was very good.
Strangest corn bread I've ever tasted.... Most entree's were bland tasting... My grandson's grilled chicken breast was more like jerky.... $16 calarmari was over priced and the portion was way too small for the price... Service was very slow and our entree's took forever to come... Won't be going back there anytime soon....
The food here is very good, although the portions are kinda small. However the live music really makes the trip worth it. Wish they had the music on Friday and Saturday nights again. My GF lives in LA and now that the music is mid week, she doesn't not get to enjoy it.
Terrible Service and moderately sufficient food.
After a long, eight-day trip into the western states, we finally felt at home having dinner at Rickey’s. The food is exceptional, but the service is superior. This place is predictably worthy of finding time to visit.
Birthday celebration, Jorge took good care of us, as well as the other gentleman who took care of us.
Food has always been consistent.
Will be back actually tomorrow with friend. :)
The service has declined a lot. The waiter was unfamiliar with daily selection and had difficulty getting our charge card right and finally had to call the manager to correct it. We specifically told him when we sat down at 6:00 pm that we had a theater reservation at 8:00 pm and needed to be out by 7:30 pm. He ran out the clock even though there were very few people in the restaurant.
Food was great as always. My favorite is the small portion entrees. The filet mignon is delicious. Waiter was great. Tried the pear cosmos and it was delicious.
We were in town and decided to have dinner here before ending our day. It was a great choice. We were warmly greeted and taken to our table. From our salads to our dessert, the meal was worthy and sumptuous. Best of all was the Service! Thank you Nelson!
It is always rewarding to settle into out table along the wall and have some familiar faces helping us enjoy our dinner. I had their special veal chop and loved it! While we missed Nelson, Glenn did his best to make sure our meal was everything we expected.
The three course dinner menu special was a great value, we liked the choices and the food was well prepared and tasted delicious!
Great hidden gem. My wife and I have celebrated 10 of our 13 anniversaries here.
So too bad - the food was excellent - it was Mother’s Day - we all liked what we ordered, we liked the decor, but the service was terrible!!! We were seated right away, at a nice booth, got water and cornbread right away, then sat... and sat... and it was not that busy. There was a 3 course menu option that we weren’t told until the waiter FINALLY showed up and told us wasn’t available to order that night - we had to order drinks and food at the same time - then someone else delivered the food, and the waiter just disappeared - never checked to see if we had gotten anything and how it was - he forgot my son’s side order - we didn’t order dessert or coffee because we figured it would take forever. Too bad. The hostess, the people who poured water and cleared were great, but neither the waiter or even the mgr who was running around ever checked on us. We won’t go back. Too bad; the food was really good.
We have eating at this restaurant multiple times while we are traveling through the area. The food and service has always been excellent so mothers day was a real disappointment. The filet mignon was ordered medium rare and it came out well done. We requested potatoes instead of mashed potatoes since we can't have the milk or cream and the re-fire came out with mashed potatoes. really disappointing considering how good it was on previous occasions.
We love Rickeys but it was confusing on Mother's Day. We sit down and they give use menus with the 3 course Sunday Dinner Menu. However, right when we are about to order the waiter says we can no longer order the 3 course meal and he will get in trouble if we do. Why didn't they remove them from the menu? Why did the waiter confirm when we first sat that the menu was available? The waiter rarely came to check on us.
Cocktails were amazing. Food was fantastic. Kids loved the pool. Wait staff and communication left alot to be desired.
Just make sure to check your bill before you pay they always add extra things. Also check your credit card charge amount before you sign, they seem to always charge wrong amount.
The price was ridiculously high for the quality of food and ambiance. Also I got sick immediately after eating there. I spoke with a friend who went to the same event and she also felt that the price was too high and food was so-so. Had to wait a long time for the check and no one ever checked on us. Really disappointed and kind of ruined my mother's day.
Good restaurant. Waiter was writing in his own tips which is not acceptable and against dining etiquette in general and placed patrons in an awkward position. Buffet was good. Service ok. Overpriced for a buffet. Will not recommend.
The last few times we went to Ricky's they have a gnat problem. So its very disconcerting slapping at gnats and hoping they don't land on your food. When they solve that problem the place is great. MAKE RICKY'S GREAT AGAIN.
We had another great meal and fun time together; however, the live music was too loud and we couldn't hear each other talk. We told our waiter and it quieted down a bit, but not enough.. We will definitely come back but maybe not on a live music night...
We had our minds set on our dinners - until we heard to specials. The meals were spectacular! The staff was superior and the restaurant was very welcoming.
Overall it was not a terrible experience, the menu indicated that the baby back ribs slow roasted. It turns out there boiled and had very little flavor. The macaroni and cheese wasn’t what I expected the sauce was a bit chalky. The cornbread was quite good as was the service.
