EXCELLENT. Solid 4.5 stars. YES, we would go back. Nice job. DETAILED VERSION: Although we are locals from Vegas, this was only our 2nd time to RM Seafood. We expected a very good to excellent meal and we were not disappointed. SERVICE: We made last minute reservations through OpenTable and were seated at a bar table by request. Service was very good with just the right amount of attention to enhance a nice meal. WINE/COCKTAILS: We started with a cocktail and then both had wine by the glass. Wine list is heavier on California/Oregon wines, and the selection is better than most. Some unique wines on the list you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. FOOD: Kept it simple with Clam Chowder, Shrimp Cocktail, Surf and Turf Roll, and Dorade whole fish. Excellent on all. Yummy - we would order them again. The rest of the menu we will try over time. OVERALL: A pleasant surprise - a nice place in Mandalay Bay for a seafood meal. Prices are a bit upscale but hey - this is not a Red Lobster. YES, we would go back.
This was my second time to this restaurant and the food was great again. They seated me right away with my reservation - the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday evening.
Great service and food! Also very prompt which made for a wonderful experience.
Delicious champagne, oysters, and sushi, although for $24 I honestly felt slighted to get the quite tiny sushi roll...I’ve eaten at many Vegas sushi joints, and this wasn’t priced correctly.
One of the best places to eat in Las Vegas - the food never disappoints and we make sure to eat here more than once when we are in town. We recommend it to everyone we know when they ask where to go in LV. Try the crab cakes, the best I’ve ever had. This time around, we ordered the catfish sloppy joe for lunch and it was amazing!! The key lime is something I dream about all year. And the service is always exceptional.
Rick Moonen has a quote about his job being to make memories for every diner. We tried his 16 flavor ice cream guessing game and had the most fun! Very good sushi, fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend the ice cream guessing game.
Fantastic business lunch special!!
I hosted a team dinner here and we had an absolutely great time. The waitress was awesome and did a great job recommending things from the menu. The food was awesome!
Service was terrible, we waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Food was worse, waited even longer.
Wonderful curry cauliflower soup...and I wish the ciopino had the same wow factor. The broth was way too spicy. So much so it numbed the tastebuds so I couldn’t taste the fish. Huge disappointment.
The food was great. It had great flavor and the potions were decent size. The server was excellent and provided good recommendations. I would definitely recommend this place.
We went during the “Business Lunch” hours. The restaurant was quiet, service was great and the food was amazing! The 3 course lunch special is a steal for the quality and amount of food you receive.
I would suggest that after 5:30 or 6 must have a dress code. We went there for our 42nd anniversary thinking that it was nicely dressed code. But we noticed that people are coming in with t-shirts jean shorts my wife and I overdressed felt very uncomfortable. The food that you folks serve there I think requires a fine dining seafood restaurant.
The food is excellent, seafood is fresh. Although we expected the food to be pricey, a $300 meal for two people that only included 3 cocktails and no dessert is a bit much. Market price on seafood puts the specials at about $70-$75 per meal (a la carte), and cocktails were at least $20 per drink...though we are not typically concerned with price, that's quite high. But it's the LV strip and adding that into the equation, it was very enjoyable!
Expensive but worth it!!! I will definetly return to this restaurant!!
Generally call this overpriced mediocre experience. Hostess attempted to seat us on “patio” 15 feet from escalator in what felt like eating at the mall food court. Requested change and they put us in last table inside but still with full on view of escalators and casino walkers. Even though most of the restaurant was empty. For $300 meal I would expect more privacy. Our server was not very attentive or friendly and forgot my husbands soup. Brought it after his entree and didn’t charge us. Overall food was mediocre and certainly not worth $300 with tip (included 1 mixed drink, 2 glasses wine) for 2 people.
Great food great service great experience. Definitely will be back for their seafood.
Average food with good service. Chef is very overrated with his “sustainability” talk.
3 of us were in Vegas for a Conference and decided to have dinner here our first night. Thank you to the hotel check-in staff for steering us in the direction of RM Seafood. I have wanted to go over the years, but just never stopped in, and I am sad I hadn't done it sooner. We all enjoyed our dinners so much - the Risotto with shrimp, lobster and scallops was out of this world, and I am not much of a risotto fan. Other things we enjoyed was the lobster mac-n-cheese and believe it or not the Curry Carrot Soup. To top it off, we probably had the BEST waiter on the strip. Joshua was GREAT - on top of things, great suggestions for dinner and funny! Thanks for making our dinner a great evening out.
This was our second visit on our 4 day visit. Last year when we attended the SCI meeting, we ate her twice. This year we wanted to try something new. However, the new restaurants we tried were very disappointing. Next time we won’t bother to try any other restaurants. We found the best , so why go anywhere else! The manager was a fellow who knew what his job was and did it well . You better keep him around as he is a very dedicated employee!
The food was below average. The menu items either were not available or were poorly represented.
We chose the restaurant for a special occasion (anniversary). Rick's clam chowder was excellent, as was the salad my wife chose. Her scallops were inconsistently cooked, as one was very underdone. My Icelandic cod was overcooked, but the cassoulet was quite tasty. We had the dessert sampler, but should have passed it up. The key lime pie was rubbery, as was the lemon tart. While we would consider coming back, it will be a while.
We had a party of 6 for a birthday. Food was spot on. Fish & shellfish were awesome. Server was great.
Food Over priced on specials
Our server Steve was incredible. It was very warm in the restaurant and he took it upon himself to turn the temperature. Very knowledgeable and sincere. The food was great, but a bit pricey. The key lime pie dessert is amazing.
Food was very good and service was nice. They were on top of everything. The Issue for me was the pricing, which was high for the value. The cod fish on the special menu was $46. It’s cod.
The sushi was the way to go and was outstanding.
The service was great! The food was very over priced. Our meal was 700+ dollars for only four of us. We ordered the seafood tower to split which was 230 and it was ok. The oysters were not good at all and the shrimp was over cooked. The lobster was terrible. We did not order a entree. The sushi was warm which kinda scared me. Truthfully the only think we had that was really good was the oyster shooters. And the drinks were also good. Would I eat there again. Probably not.
Fantastic dinner! I had the octopus dish as my main entree and it was incredible. Always a fantastic place for a meal to remember.
Food was good, service was attentive. The only negative was it was like a nursing home in their with the heat.
Top notch dinner with outstanding food and service
One of the best seafood restaurants I have been to
The innovative Rice Krispie sushi appetizer was a fantastic blend of flavors and textures
The sea bass with spicy Korean flavors was a stand out as well
The next time I am back in Las Vegas I will be back

The waiter seemed irritated and unhappy. Not what we received 2 nights earlier which is why I brought other clients. That night all was exceptional.
Great seafood options - from raw oysters and sushi to cooked whole fish. Extensive wine list. Prompt and friendly service. Perfect for business dinner (although some parts of the restaurant are quite loud).
Great food. Very good service.
Great as always
The seafood was prepared perfectly. Not over done and lots of fresh flavor. You can’t go wrong.
This was the 2nd time we’ve eaten there. Both times the staff & service were friendly and accommodating; very professional.
This was my first visit to Rick Moonen Seafood. At first, I was a little taken aback by the prices but I was interested in trying the food anyway. So I decided to stay and order. I am sooooo happy that I did! The calamari was delicious and very tender, not chewy at all! Also, it was a nice size portion for the price, which actually wasn't bad for the amount of food. I also ordered the Cioppinno Fra Diavola. Muah!!! Eccellente!!! (Excellent)! The portion size, I couldn't finish it. A nice variety of seafood with excellent flavor and not spicy at all.....the way I like it! This place definitely deserves repeat visits. Oh! And I can't forget the service. Our server was excellent, can't remember his name but the guy with the ponytail. Overall, I give this place all 10s!!! 🙌🏾🙌🏾🙌🏾
RM Seafood always amazes me. The service is excellent. Our waiter knew the menu, and knew the extensive wine list. He was able to recommend wines based off of our “usual” likes/dislikes.
The food is fantastic! We were there on Christmas evening (and have been there before for a nice meal out). The crab cake is incredible - lots of crab, not a lot of filler. The crab legs were done perfectly. The clam chowder was full of clams and very tasty. The steamed mussels were my mother in laws favorite! We also tried the blind ice cream tasting for dessert. So much fun! A great way to end the meal and “check” our palletes.
My only criticism is the prices. Three of us ate on their regular menu with 1-2 glasses of wine each, and it cost us $350 (without tip). I appreciate the caliber of Chef, and the caliber of food, but it seemed excessive for the prices of wine and seafood.
This is definitely a place to go on a special occasion and possibly instead of a show. We will be back!
