The food was good, service was not good. We had a large group so it appeared that the staff didn’t feel the need to check on us or bring drinks in a timely manner because we would have to pay a 20% service charge regardless.
The Chefs and Staff obviously care about your experience. They were friendly, helpful and provided a delicious meal. Great selection of quality oyesters and their two fresh catch specials were amazing. Would highly recommend.
Every time we visit Las Vegas we love to go to Rick Moonen's RM Seafood. The oysters are incredibly delicious. Each item we have tried has been delicious. The service is very good.
Wife ordered whole Sea Bass. It was butchered in the kitchen where it as boned. Someone has absolutely no idea how to bone a fish! Plus, it was over-cooked, the meat was mush.
The food was great and the service provided by CJ was outstanding!
Food was great. Mojitos were great. Service was attentive and informative. Great experience. Would definitely come back again.
Had a late lunch at 2pm , having just flown in. There was one other diner and lots of supervising staff but our server seemed rushed off her feet. We had a half dozen Oysters for starters , which was fine . We had then ordered fish and chips and the fish tacos . Everything was fresh but to be honest, I’ve had much much better at my neighbourhood pub . Having decided in this restaurant based on previous reviews, I wish I hadn’t bothered . The location leaves a lot to be desired with the only view being the escalator between the designer shop area and a very smoky Mandalay Bay casino floor.
Great Crab Cakes. Flat Iron Steak was OK. Wine selection was good. Not a fan of the high top tables
Went for lunch while at a conference. Food is great, service??? WAY TOO FAST. you know when you are being rushed and that was what was happening.
Got the "Three Course Business Lunch". It should have been labeled "express", given they brought out entree 2 minutes after appitizer, and then dessert about 4 minutes after entree.
I dealt it it for the entree, but frankly told the food server (who was not the waiter) to take back dessert.
Given our total time in the restaurant was about 45 minutes it was not like we were slow or anything.
My salad had too many raw red onions in it.
EXCELLENT. Solid 4.5 stars. YES, we would go back. Nice job. DETAILED VERSION: Although we are locals from Vegas, this was only our 2nd time to RM Seafood. We expected a very good to excellent meal and we were not disappointed. SERVICE: We made last minute reservations through OpenTable and were seated at a bar table by request. Service was very good with just the right amount of attention to enhance a nice meal. WINE/COCKTAILS: We started with a cocktail and then both had wine by the glass. Wine list is heavier on California/Oregon wines, and the selection is better than most. Some unique wines on the list you wouldn't normally find elsewhere. FOOD: Kept it simple with Clam Chowder, Shrimp Cocktail, Surf and Turf Roll, and Dorade whole fish. Excellent on all. Yummy - we would order them again. The rest of the menu we will try over time. OVERALL: A pleasant surprise - a nice place in Mandalay Bay for a seafood meal. Prices are a bit upscale but hey - this is not a Red Lobster. YES, we would go back.
How they are rated as a 4 star restaurant is beyond me. Fish suggested to be fresh was frozen, then prepared. The clam chowder had very few clams, bits of bacon or evidence of potatoes, oily surface. My wife's chicken in a doughy crust was under cooked; chicken meat was pink and undercooked. The lobster term adore was terrible and then you had to pay a $100 for bottle of $25.00 wine to wash it down.
It was our best meal while in Las Vegas. I would definitely return.
This was my second time to this restaurant and the food was great again. They seated me right away with my reservation - the restaurant was packed on a Tuesday evening.
Great service and food! Also very prompt which made for a wonderful experience.
Delicious champagne, oysters, and sushi, although for $24 I honestly felt slighted to get the quite tiny sushi roll...I’ve eaten at many Vegas sushi joints, and this wasn’t priced correctly.
One of the best places to eat in Las Vegas - the food never disappoints and we make sure to eat here more than once when we are in town. We recommend it to everyone we know when they ask where to go in LV. Try the crab cakes, the best I’ve ever had. This time around, we ordered the catfish sloppy joe for lunch and it was amazing!! The key lime is something I dream about all year. And the service is always exceptional.
Rick Moonen has a quote about his job being to make memories for every diner. We tried his 16 flavor ice cream guessing game and had the most fun! Very good sushi, fresh and well prepared. Highly recommend the ice cream guessing game.
Fantastic business lunch special!!
I hosted a team dinner here and we had an absolutely great time. The waitress was awesome and did a great job recommending things from the menu. The food was awesome!
Service was terrible, we waited 20 minutes for our drinks. Food was worse, waited even longer.
Wonderful curry cauliflower soup...and I wish the ciopino had the same wow factor. The broth was way too spicy. So much so it numbed the tastebuds so I couldn’t taste the fish. Huge disappointment.
The food was great. It had great flavor and the potions were decent size. The server was excellent and provided good recommendations. I would definitely recommend this place.
We went during the “Business Lunch” hours. The restaurant was quiet, service was great and the food was amazing! The 3 course lunch special is a steal for the quality and amount of food you receive.
I would suggest that after 5:30 or 6 must have a dress code. We went there for our 42nd anniversary thinking that it was nicely dressed code. But we noticed that people are coming in with t-shirts jean shorts my wife and I overdressed felt very uncomfortable. The food that you folks serve there I think requires a fine dining seafood restaurant.
The food is excellent, seafood is fresh. Although we expected the food to be pricey, a $300 meal for two people that only included 3 cocktails and no dessert is a bit much. Market price on seafood puts the specials at about $70-$75 per meal (a la carte), and cocktails were at least $20 per drink...though we are not typically concerned with price, that's quite high. But it's the LV strip and adding that into the equation, it was very enjoyable!
Expensive but worth it!!! I will definetly return to this restaurant!!
Generally call this overpriced mediocre experience. Hostess attempted to seat us on “patio” 15 feet from escalator in what felt like eating at the mall food court. Requested change and they put us in last table inside but still with full on view of escalators and casino walkers. Even though most of the restaurant was empty. For $300 meal I would expect more privacy. Our server was not very attentive or friendly and forgot my husbands soup. Brought it after his entree and didn’t charge us. Overall food was mediocre and certainly not worth $300 with tip (included 1 mixed drink, 2 glasses wine) for 2 people.
Great food great service great experience. Definitely will be back for their seafood.
Average food with good service. Chef is very overrated with his “sustainability” talk.
3 of us were in Vegas for a Conference and decided to have dinner here our first night. Thank you to the hotel check-in staff for steering us in the direction of RM Seafood. I have wanted to go over the years, but just never stopped in, and I am sad I hadn't done it sooner. We all enjoyed our dinners so much - the Risotto with shrimp, lobster and scallops was out of this world, and I am not much of a risotto fan. Other things we enjoyed was the lobster mac-n-cheese and believe it or not the Curry Carrot Soup. To top it off, we probably had the BEST waiter on the strip. Joshua was GREAT - on top of things, great suggestions for dinner and funny! Thanks for making our dinner a great evening out.
This was our second visit on our 4 day visit. Last year when we attended the SCI meeting, we ate her twice. This year we wanted to try something new. However, the new restaurants we tried were very disappointing. Next time we won’t bother to try any other restaurants. We found the best , so why go anywhere else! The manager was a fellow who knew what his job was and did it well . You better keep him around as he is a very dedicated employee!
The food was below average. The menu items either were not available or were poorly represented.
We chose the restaurant for a special occasion (anniversary). Rick's clam chowder was excellent, as was the salad my wife chose. Her scallops were inconsistently cooked, as one was very underdone. My Icelandic cod was overcooked, but the cassoulet was quite tasty. We had the dessert sampler, but should have passed it up. The key lime pie was rubbery, as was the lemon tart. While we would consider coming back, it will be a while.
We had a party of 6 for a birthday. Food was spot on. Fish & shellfish were awesome. Server was great.
Food Over priced on specials
Our server Steve was incredible. It was very warm in the restaurant and he took it upon himself to turn the temperature. Very knowledgeable and sincere. The food was great, but a bit pricey. The key lime pie dessert is amazing.
