We had reservations at 8:00. We arrived at 7:45. We did not sit down in the restaurant until 8:45 and had to check with the hostess numerous times. When we did sit, there were only a handful of occupied tables in the restaurant so it is unclear why our wait was so long. Our server was phenomenal- the wait staff is always great. We do eat at Ricks a good bit and this is the first time we have had to wait like this but it should never happen when the restaurant isn’t very busy. Not in a restaurant of this caliber. We also had a couple sit very close to us who “face timed” everyone they knew throughout the length of their dinner and talked so loudly that we could not hear our own conversations. It was very bizarre. Obviously, this is not the restaurants fault but it just added to an already “off” night.

Excellent service and great menu. It was Mother's Day so they had a Sunday Brunch menu which was excellent .
My wife ordered off of the standard menu. Excellent steaks seafood with a southern twist on some of the starters, not inexpensive but excellent food. Service was outstanding.

My wife and I frequent here quite often, normally one a month. Our last two visits had us feeling a bit lacking when it came to satisfaction. I first want to say our server was great, but the amount of time it took to get our food was not. Our night started great and was seated at our table about 5 minutes from when our reservation was which is totally fine. We were greeted about 5 minutes later by our server and asked what we wanted to drink, we ordered a bottle but since they could not find a wine list we had to go with the wine that we went with last time. Here is where it got bad, received our wine, 20 min later we received our salad, finished salad, 35 min later we received our steak, ordered desert, another 20 min to get that. I am just saying after the last time we had a bad experience we went to Halls... Luckily for you we just didn't enjoy it....

Very impressive. Andy, the waiter, was very professional. Attentive without being annoying.
3 course and 4 course meal selection was a good value.
No surprises, no disappointments. Will be back. Thanks, Andy.

Was dissapointed in Surf and Turf...the filet mignon in particular. I have much better at a different steak house for a better price. My husband had Prime Rib which was okay. Won't be returning.

Our service was excellent and food was outstanding. Made a college graduation celebration very special! Our server was so knowledgeable about items on the menu and spent time with us explaining items on the menu, he gave great recommendations,as this was our first time there. Outstanding and hope to return soon.

Wonderful dining experience! Our waiter was exceptional - engaging, knowledgeable, attentive, non intrusive, and made us feel like we were his most important guests. The wait staff met our every need without hovering, but always appeared just when they were needed. The entire meal seemed like a well orchestrated, choreographed affair. The food was delicious and tweaked to meet eveyone’s requests. The shrimp and grits, halibut, steaks, & crab cakes were all some of the best we’ve eaten. (We had to share bites to compare, because we all liked what we ordered so much!) We had a group of five, but our seating arrangement was very intimate and quiet - yet we could carry on a conversation easily without feeling like we were disturbing others. We were celebrating our granddaughter’s Clemson graduation, and they comped our dessert - again delicious. We will certainly make the West End Grille our first stop when we visit Greenville again.

Still one of the best steaks in town but seemed slightly off their game on this visit. My steak 0 NY Strip - was good but not great - a little bland. Ordered grilled oysters as an appetizer - they were warm but not hot and taste was nothing close to the grilled oysters I have had in New Orleans restaurants (inventor of the grilled oyster). Wine was very good but only one bottle available. Second choice was more expensive and not as good.

My wife and I ate at RE West End Grille for our 24th wedding anniversary. It was our first time to Greenville, SC. I chose this restaurant for the positive reviews and it was within walking distance from our hotel. It was a great choice.
My reservation was at 7:15 pm. We arrived just a few minutes early. The hostess was pleasant and professional. She asked us to sit for just a minute while she checked to make sure our table was ready. We were seated within 5 minutes. I had informed them it was our wedding anniversary. There was champagne and a card waiting for us.
The staff promptly took our drink order and made sure we had bread. My wife had on of their signature cocktails, the Amelia Earhart. She said it was very good.
I ordered the Surf and Turf with mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables. My filet was cooked perfect and the crab cake was good. My wife had the Shrimp and Grits. It was fantastic.
It was a great anniversary meal. We enjoyed some quiet conversation, romantic atmosphere and delicious food. The staff was attentive but not intrusive. We never felt rushed or forgotten. I expect to eat there again when we travel back to Greenville.

We truly enjoyed our dinner on a Friday night after a long drive while on vacation. All employees were warm and welcoming, but our server, John, stood out for his being a quick study, proud of the restaurant and knowledgeable about the food and wine. Any time travels take us to Greenville, this would be our first choice restaurant.

Food and service were excellent. Nice wine list . Very disappointed in receiving one of the worst tables given our Open Table reservations were several weeks in advance. Hostess said we should have specified a specific table. We are out-of-Towners so we only eat here once or twice a year and never faced this issue the dozens of times we have used Open Table. As a result we sat next to primary foot traffic and the contestant movement of the waiters to the water/glass service table. We watched several other tables remain vacant throughout the evening that were not offered to us. Spending $350 for dinner for two should have gotten us a little more elegant experience.
The restaurant did provide complimentary champagne and dessert for my spouse's birthday.

After having a few less-than-stellar experiences with both the food and the service, we decided to give Rick’s flagship restaurant one more shot. It delivered.

The impeccable and accommodating staff were only surpassed by a wonderful meal.

It’s too bad they’re not going to be here much longer; Greenville will deeply miss having its one true homegrown steakhouse.

Excellent meal, great wine selection attentive service. It was quiet so we were able to have a good dinner conversation. The Caesar salad was very good, the bone in filet, rare with blackened seasoning was one of the top steaks I have had in a long time. I enjoyed the exposed brick and cozy character of the dining space.

My girlfriends and I went to the restaurant to celebrate a birthday for one of them. Our meal was delicious and our waiter very nice and friendly. Unfortunately, he recommended a bottle of wine which we were looking forward to trying. When he came to the table with the wine, he said he was sorry but they were out of the one he recommended. Instead he brought a substitute which was $14 more than the one we ordered, and asked if we wanted to have it instead. It was a little awkward to say no, so we agreed to have it. It really wasn't the extra money, but it felt a little off. I felt he could have at least offered it at a reduced price or brought my girlfriend a little dessert at the end of the meal to make up for the situation.
