Rick Erwin's Eastside

Our food was great and our servers were very attentive. Grayson and Connor were focused on providing us with the utmost service. The food was great and classic American Steakhouse in variety. The crab cake with my steak was good, but not the best I’ve ever had.
Service was very poor. I have been in the restaurant business for 16 years, and even owned a restaurant. It took over 15 minutes to get our first round of drinks, our guests drinks took longer. Bread service after 30 minutes (and we had to ask for it). Drinks were empty on multiple occasions, really not happy with the service and it was enough to ruin our meal. My wife and I had a tab of $230 before tip, and service was not worthy of a mcdonalds meal. There was 3 other couples with us, so I would imagine that the whole table spent about $800+. No one was happy with the visit. The manager was not as engaged as he should have been. We had to ask him for items too and he should have picked up on the needs of the table.
We wont be returning to the eastside location.
Today is my birthday and we chose to dine at Rick Erwin’s Eastside. It seemed like everyone working in the restaurant (including Rick Erwin) wished me a “Happy Birthday “. A champagne toast and free dessert topped the evening off perfectly. The food was great as always but the service made it very special.
There was a hair in my grilled chicken. I didn't make a big deal, but thought you should know.
Awesome as usual!
Food was good but it was off a little from what I have come to expect at Rick Erwin's Eastside. The service was exceptional as always, Christina is always on point.
Good food, great service, excellent menu chooses. We will go back!
Best crime brûlée’s my wife ever had. I didn’t even get a taste. It was gone in a flash. The steak and scallops were perfection.
Not worth the money. My Delmonico steak was overcooked despite ordering is medium. My wife ordered the Trout and it was dry and nothing spectacular. Calamari were great. Our server was very good.
I won’t be going back.
The food was excellent and the service was even better, will most definitely return
Rainbow trout disappointing, over cooked, presented skin side up over brown rice. No flavor.
Very nice dinner and then moved to the bar area to watch a ballgame.
I would like to see more variety of wines instead of just California wines by the glass.
This was our first visit to this particular Rick Erwin restaurant. We had very good service & the food was also very good. The Oysters Southernfella were absolutely THE BEST ever! Loved this preparation! We’ll definitely be back!
Always great food, excellent wine. Service team led by Grayson was on point, warm yet professional with just right timing
Yes, the experience was worthy of the special occasion of our wedding anniversary, it has become a tradition over the last few years. Thank you.
My husband is about to be deployed and he will be gone over our 1st wedding anniversary, so we decided to celebrate together before he leaves. My parents recommended this restaurant, and it was 100% worth it. We will definitely be coming back!
Our martinis were not good. We tried several of the specialty drinks and none of them were great like they are at most steak restaurants... big disappointment when going out for the evening. Next, our calamari was a little chewy and boring. The salads we had was drenched in dressing which had been the case here before but we forgot until it was too late.
Good experience at Ricks Eastside. Always bump into friends there, adding to the experience.
Great service. Waiter was very knowledgeable on the menu as well as specials.
Sat was our first time to eat at any of Rick Erwin's restaurants, the service was absolutely wonderful. Our server was friendly and very helpful. I don't know much about wine and she suggested a couple I might like. We had one of the best steaks I've ever eaten. The only thing that was a little off was the broccoli, it had a bitter taste, salt took care of that!!
Our server, Christina Aldrich, was great. But the food was outstanding as usual. Love this place. Great for special occasions but also to treat yourself for working so hard.
We have gone to rick Erwins restaurants many times... always outstanding our waiter was also outstanding . About 75% of the time Rick Erwins himself shows up at our table to ask how things are going I like that
Always a tasty meal.
First time but will make this a regular special occasion spot. Ashley was awesome. She was full of energy and suggestions and just the cutest. Steaks were cooked perfectly and tasted wonderful. Loved being able to try many things with the restaurant week menu.
First time trying this eastside location, although we live in the neighborhood. We like to try new restaurants during Restaurant Week. Our experience was perfect in every way! Service was outstanding. Our steak & shrimp was done to perfection. The bread & olive oil/balsamic dipping sauce was delicious. We will be back!
Husbands birthday and it was restaurant week
Katie and the other waitstaff were friendly, knowledgeable about the menu and we enjoyed our time there immensely.
We celebrated our 36th anniversary and felt so special, had a delicious meal and were wished Happy Anniversary by all who passed our table. We were given a card signed by all the staff and greeted with champagne. It was a lovely evening!
Absolutely the best time ever! The mood and decor are fabulous, and the food, outstanding! If you are into king crab, the Deadliest Catch is truly phenomenal dining experience. So tender and easy to eat! Rick sure knows how to elevate dinner to a whole new level! I can't wait to get transported back in time again soon!
We were thinking of trying out Rick's newest for the last few months. Saturday my husband said that he wanted to go out to eat at 5pm! yikes How can we ever get reservations at a descent restaurant? I tried Open table and booked a table at 7:45pm. We were seated quickly and told about the nights specials. She Crab Soup was wonderful and NOT a small cup of soup like many fine restaurants. The BREAD was some of the best ever..... The food was very good and presented beautifully. I think we will be BACK. Wish he would open a Restaurant in Laurens or Clinton S.C.
Enjoyed our birthday dinner with our friends!
As always...EXCELLENT ambiance and food! Never received after dinner coffee (things had really gotten busy by then) but evening was wonderful!
We have eaten at Rick Erwin’s Eastside many times & always had a great meal. Last night we met for a business dinner & everyone was very accommodating. Great service, great food. We will be back.
We love Rick Erwin’s Eastside. If we desire a more intimate dinner, we sit in the dining room but more often than not we sit in the bar, same delicious food. One of the few places in Greenville who I can trust to serve fresh oysters on the half shell.
My husband loves the dry aged Delmonico steak, cooked to perfection😋
A couple of weeks ago, I had the king crab legs and they were overcooked. Saturday evening, I had the 7oz filet, supposedly medium. Was told it would be warm red center. I'm not sure the steak was 7oz before cooking? Fairly small for a filet. There was almost no juices as I cut each bite? And a baked potato for $11?? That's a little high for a damn "spud" eh? I give restaurants a second chance if I'm not overly happy the first time. But this is my second time of not being overly pleased, so most likely will not return......
Christina did a great job!
Nice upscale restaurant not in city. Excellent for parking. I wish I had clarified with staff how food was actually prepared. I did request no salt. Most restaurants over salt the food. I felt when I ordered NC trout that it would be broiled since it did not mention fried. It was a nice presentation but had an over abundance of oil on it as did the roasted mushrooms. I don't recall having it like this at the Rick Erwin's downtown Greenville or in Clemson. As I said it was my error for not asking specifics. Nice touch that Rick comes to your table to chat.
Booth tables need to be angeled to fit the sitting area. Service was attentive I had to ask for to many things , the wine list is not updated . Reisling wine 2015 does not exist and when questioned about the wine brought to the table. this is wjhat I ordered and I plainly stated 2015 as on list and paid the same price for a 2 year old 2017 wine instead of a 4 year old wine . Please correct and update your list . I was going to buy a more expensive bottle but was afriad that I would be brought a different one and stated it is the same 365.00 same price. But overall I will give them 4 stars for the quaility of the food . The serving tray for the Chicken and Waffles need to have a lip on it sryup will run of the edges . But thank you for the replacement of the bottle of wine that was knocked over by the hostess. My waitress looked at me and stated oh we saved most of it ,like I was going to continue to be served from a open bottle that wasted the contents that I am paying for . A little staff training is in order in that department . Table setting was incorrect . for the price the little things get noticed!. I had the crab cakes which was awsome . the wife had the chicken and waffles, and they were the same 4 stars.
Food is always fantastic. Service overall is good.
There is obviously a management directive to upsell/oversell business dinners as this experience was the 2nd server at Eastside to do this. More side orders recommended than humanly possible to consume and proposing salads as if they come with the meal.
Our organization has raised the attention to this on other occasions at Ricks Eastside. Sooner or later it will cost great customers.
