Specializing in New Mexican Cuisine. Richardson’s concept has been around since 1988. Known for our red and green chile and our outstanding Wood Oven Pizzas. Our menu includes a variety of salads, appetizers, pastas, soup of the day and main entrees. Daily specials are written on our blackboards. And we also offer an extensive wine by the glass and reserve selection. We take reservations for parties of four or more.

Ordered a Fish Trio that included Mahi, Salmon and Swordfish. Excellent in preparation and flavor. Food arrived in short time and waitress was on top of drinks when needed. I will definitely return, plus dog friendly on patio.

We Hadn't been to Richardson's in quite some time but remembered it as one of our favorites. We were not disappointed. the serving are a great taste of New Mexico and the potions are huge. We left with full bellies with smile on our faces. Liz our server was very good and took great care of us. Will definitely go back

While on vacation in Phoenix last fall, we dined at Richardson's with local friends who highly recommended this restaurant. We really enjoyed the food and the ambience, and our server was very good.

On a return trip to Phoenix this past weekend for a girlfriends' reunion, I highly recommended this place to my group based on that previous experience. I was embarrassed that I did.

We arrived at 4:15 for a 4:30 reservation, and they seated us at small, low cocktail tables in the patio. This would have been difficult for five people to eat appetizers and a meal on, so we asked if we could sit at a booth or high top, seeing several were unoccupied. At first, they declined stating they were holding them for 6:45 reservations - 2 1/2 hours later!

We assured them we would not be there that long since we had other plans after dinner. They finally seated us at a booth in the bar telling us we needed to be gone by 6:30!

We felt a bit rushed in the ordering process for both drinks and dinner. The server disappeared often and the time between visits to our table, too long. Margaritas were served in water glasses instead of traditional margarita glassware, small issue in light of all else.

The worst was the ridiculous amount of flies swarming around our table. We noticed a strange smell but could not determine from where it came. When our appetizers arrived and we had taken our individual portions from the serving dish, we had to cover the dish to keep the flies off the remaining food. When our entrees came, it was more of the same. We ate with one hand while swatting away flies with the other.

We rushed our experience to get away from the annoying flies, and most did not finish their meal. We got "to-go" boxes and enjoyed our food the next day in a calm, relaxing, no-fly zone, pool-side cabana at our resort! Next time, skip Richardson's, order pool-side!

By the way, we drove away at 5:30. Plenty of time to clear the table for the 6:45 reservation.

Things seem to be slipping. The last couple of times that we have been there the service wasn’t what we were used to. The food is still good but just seems a bit disappointing compared to in the past.

Walk in the door, smell the aroma of the unbelievable food about to come your way. Bacon wrapped jalapenos were out of this world. Everything is delicious.

We have been coming to Richardsons for 25 years. When his first place burned down we were bummed! We still like Dick’s Hideaway. It is our favorite place! And we live in North Peoria!

We were able to be seated outside in a nice quiet booth to celebrate a friends birthday. It was a wonderful time, great food, great wait staff. This is one of my favorite places to eat in the Phoenix area.

Made my reservation for 6:00 pm, our table was outside high top near the entrance, no effort to change our table when requested, just terrible. But the biggest issue was the value, I have no problem spending money on top notch restaurants, but to spend $200 for 2 beers, 2 glasses of wine and average at best Mexican food for 4 people is ridiculous and my bad for not knowing a head of time. I will not be returning to this restaurant.

Good food and service. If you are a party of 2 with reservations for dinner you will only get a bar top to dine on. We were early for our reservation and found out that we could only have a bar top for 2 diners. The table top was small, not large enough to hold an appetizer and salad plate at the same time. We had them take away the appetizer before finishing it because the salad arrived.

The food here was excellent! However, we were a party of four 60-somethings here for the first time, and entertaining friends. We were seated at a table that sat way too low...good for just drinks, perhaps, but not a full meal. It was quite dark, and even after skiing the waiter to light the candles on the table, we still had to use our iPhone flashlights to read the menu. Our waiter was a very nice young man, but spoke much too fast and not loud enough for the volume in the restaurant. He did, however replace a margarita ordered by one of our part in which the bartender put jalapeños. It was much too spicy, so he said he'd make it his way...and it came back very good.

We have been to Richardson's many times but dining outside was a first. It was GREAT! We were taken to a raised booth by the bar that would have seated 6 comfortably. The lighting was perfect; not too bright and not too dark. Our waiter was helpful and even accommodated a request for an appetizer not on the menu. The roasted garlic appetizer was tasty and large. We also ordered Texas toast with different meats and tomatillo sauce (not on the menu). Delicious. The appetizers were so large 5 of us shared 3 entrees. 2 were the carne adovada, of course. You can not miss with this dish. The 3rd dish was like a sampler, the New Mexican Platter. Plenty of food for 5 adults with some to take home. This place is unique in it's vibe and always fun.

I have been going to Richardson’s for over 10 years.
Always look forward to the chef specials and prickly pear margaritas.
Unfortunately I can not recommend Richardson’s after this last visit.
Very noisy. Waited one hour and twenty minutes for our food. The table next to us waited one hour and ten minutes.
We were there to show off Richardson’s to a “foodie” friend.
Could not hear her over the noise level and embarrassed for the length of time for the food to arrive.
I will take a break from Richardson’s and go back for a while.

We were disappointed in Richardson’s this time. I have to believe this was an anomaly because this place has always been good. The bone-in ribeye from the Rokerij was really bad, undercooked and overstuffed with green sauce and cheese. The enchiladas were dry and rellenos were awful.

The food is good though most items were so spicy, it was hard if you have people who don’t want to leave with their mouth on fire.

The biggest issue was that there were so many mesquite fires in the fireplaces inside, with an overwhelming smell of smoke. It was like going to a smoke filled bar, everything had to be washed when we came back home.

Outstanding food and ambiance. Little confusing on entrance, no obvious hostess station and two restaurants in same building. Salsa not as spicy as warning but very nicely flavored if you like spicy. Definitely recommend and will go back to try lots of other items on the menu

Fantastic food with great service. Possibly the best Mexican food I've had. And if you like spicy....they won't disappoint. The bacon wrapped shrimp is a must have! Cocktails were great. The service was outstanding. I would make a trip back to Phoenix just to eat at Richardson's again!

This was our worst dining experience ever. The food was burned. One dish came to the table literally boiling. The server was incredibly rude the entire time. The bus boy started clearing the table before two of us were finished. We are fairly laid back people, and this was over the top. Do not eat here.

I have been coming to Richardson’s family of restaurants for years- always great things. This experience was different in that it took 40 min to get chips and salsa as an appetizer, and an hour + 40 for entrees. No special dietary requests or anything. They were packed as it was Friday night and the manager was accommodating and took care of some charges for us for the trouble, but not sure if it was an evening where they were understaffed or what. I will be back, as they are usually a great group of restaurants and not a chain. Maybe this was an outlier experience, but I would be sure to be prepared in case it was like this again. For example, I would likely not choose it for a client dinner just in case.

Great Experience! I was turned on to Richardson's in the mid 90's by a hotel bartender at what was then the downtown Hilton and have been coming back ever since.

On this occasion we had a 6 top of people from all over the United States gathering for a memorial. Boston, New York, Mpls/St. Paul and Atlanta/Nashville. A variety of tastes and preferences to which all left the restaurant saying, "Wow".

I had called ahead and mentioned our situation and the staff was superb. We got there at 7:00pm, table was ready and we were off to the races.

Staff was fabulous throughout the evening. Our server Liz and her runners were always on the spot. It was one of those times when you thought you wanted something or had a question and miraculously someone was there to address the desire.

The food was amazing! We ordered several entrees and ate family style. This gave those that hadn't experienced the SW cuisine (that being offered by Richardson's) a thorough try. Very much like the "Goldilocks Experience", not to much this, just enough of that...overall just right.

The last thing I would talk about is the ambiance. We would call it fun. For the most part the tables are all high-backed booths with pounded copper tables which offers intimacy for conversations and some protection from the serving activity. Look at the pictures on-line to get a good representation.

Would I recommend this place? NOOOOOO. It's hard enough getting reservations, why do I want more people to compete with? Seriously, I wouldn't hesitate to take anyone here and it's a must stop for me whenever we're in town.

The 2nd last thing (yes, there's a 2nd last thing). Between my wife and I, our 3 kids and their significant others, all but two have fine dining experience. The above experience occurred on a Friday evening @ 7pm during one of the busiest spring weekends of the year.

Had not been there for a long time, as I do not live close by. It was always one of my favorite restaurants and I was so pleased to see that it is still great. Service was great. One of my favorite appetizers was no longer on the menu so I asked my waiter about it. He asked the kitchen about it and they came out to let me know that they would fix it for us. It was spectacular. The item was tomatillo toast. Great restaurant!

We had a very nice lunch here. We were seated at a booth inside. There were also nice tables in the patio area, but we didn't want to be in the sun. They had a bar inside where we were and one outside on the patio. There was a wood burning fireplace inside. I had the spicy chicken tostadas and my husband had the chili relleno. We both liked our dishes. I really liked the green sauce . My husband liked the red (said it was spicier). The margaritas were okay-more margarita mix than tequila by a long shot. So pretty weak, but still tasty. The restaurant had a very nice atmosphere. Looks way better inside than when you pull up to it outside. There is only valet parking here.
