Owned and operated by Tokyo native Hiroyuki Igarashi, Rice focuses on creating innovative Japanese-inspired dishes that are both healthy and delicious. The menu features a variety of made-from-scratch offerings that incorporate high-quality produce and seafood. The fare at Rice contains no chemical preservatives, artificial colors or chemical seasonings. Favorite selections include the miso soup, the dynamite roll, the flavorful kabocha pumpkin and the eggplant with tempeh. A wide assortment of vegetarian, vegan and gluten-free dishes is also available. Rice is a family-friendly establishment with an intimate, comfortable feel and simple yet elegant decor. It has a dining section with an array of smaller tables and a bar area stocked with a variety of beer, wine and sake. Rice is located just a few blocks away from the beach near the intersection of Manhattan Ave and 8th Pl. Limited parking is available on the adjacent streets.
