They have definitely improved over the years we've been going. We just don't like when they have "live" music because it becomes too noisy and can't have a decent conversation. Even without music, it can get very loud. They need more booths to offer people.
Excellent service and food! Best sushi around! Valentines has a limited menu but it doesn't disappoint!
We usually really enjoy going to Rice, whoever we made reservation for Valentines day. When we arrived at 5:30 there was at least 10 empty tables. The host tried to seat us next to the kitchen/ bathroom. When we asked to be moved, was rude and said we they were sold out. (We felt like we came to have a nice romantic dinner and that we were less then.) Again there were many empty tables. We pushed the issues and was moved to a better table. The menu was way over priced for the items we got. We would went there hoping to get items that we love from the regular menu. Our server was great, however the attitude with the host, menu and prices made the evening very very disappointing. Still spent $140. for the two of use. Never will I go back on a Valentines Day....
We always enjoy the Rice experience--great food, service, and music! Thank you!!
The food was good but overshadowed by the loud background noise.
Delicious. Great friendly service. Wonderful music. Love this place.
We eat at Rice occasionally. Tonight it was the best meal we have had.. seemed more efficient and food was great!,
New Year’s Eve and the people who were working at Rice were so attentive and kind. The service was amazing. The only problem was the hot chili’s on the Yummy Mocky. Everything else was first class. Thank you for being consistently a great place to eat in Eagle.
The food was amazing! Our new favorite for Asian cuisine!
Fantastic food with great service given that it was New Year's Eve. One more waiter would have been helpful. We will be back next year and sooner too.
It seemed like it was understaffed on a very busy Monday.
It took 15 minutes to get a drink at our table, and when the food came, we waited 10 minutes for utensils to eat with.
Really good food, short of wait staff.
The food was great, but the service was lacking.
In the evening on Christmas Day, our party of seven arrived at 6 p.m. at the time of our reservation. We stood in the entry way for several minutes while the staff seemed surprised at our arrival, even though they had our reservation in their system. There appeared to be some empty tables which could have been quickly moved together. But the wait continued. After 10-15 minutes, we were seated.
It took some time for a server to take our orders. Our appetizers arrived at 7 p.m., a full hour after our reservation. Then there was another considerable wait for our entrees. There were other minor snafus -- for instance, we had to ask three times for separate glasses for the bottles of sparkling water left on our table. The saving grace is that the food was excellent. The pianist who performed Christmas songs was also excellent.
I've been to Rice on several occasions and this is the first time the service was substantially sub par. Hopefully, this was a one-time thing.
The service was very slow. We waited at least 20 minutes for someone to take our drink order. We did not have any place settings on our table until we asked for them. We ordered two plates of pad Thai with shrimp and I would say it was the worst pad Thai we have had in the Boise/Eagle area. Our friend had the eggplant dish and she thought it was very good. They were short on servers. Overall I would not go to Rice again.
This is our second time here and brought a friend as well. We had the same attentive waitress and all the entrees were equally delicious; our new favorite place
Always a favorite of mine! Staff are excellent, Food is amazing every time! Prices are great and the atmosphere is perfect!
Food was great and the service was warm and friendly. Very popular and there was a piano player and singer so it was not a great spot for conversations.
Everyone is always so kind & helpful 💕
Delicious Asian cuisine. Beautiful atmosphere. Sushi bar, too!
I liked the variety of Asian food choices from curries to baked salmon, noodle dishes to Indian food. The service was slow and they didn’t have any menus available when we arrived. After 10 minutes or so we finally had menus and glasses of water. The food was very good and we will try it again.
We sat on the patio which was very nice. Worked better as we had a couple younger kids so they could move around more as the service was a bit slow. One plate was suppose to be vegan but arrived w/chicken also was to be gluten free so questioned it was. Had to request another dish. They were quick to get another one out. Food was delicious. We will return to try it again.
Amazing atmosphere. Loved the live music. Extremely friendly.
Very poor service.
Reasonable prices and a nice atmosphere. The menus had a good variety of options with healthy choices, vegetarian and vegan options, and a range of Asian influenced dishes.
However, the food was lackluster and flavorless. The fresh summer rolls were very good but shrimp fried rice ended up being more of a salad and a cabbage slaw had almost no dressing leaving it a bland pile of raw vegetables.
Service was abysmal. Water and drinks were never refilled. It took over two hours for the meal. Empty plates and menus weren’t removed. We finally had to walk to the front of the restaurant to ask to pay so we could leave otherwise we weren’t sure when we could get the bill. It wasn’t very busy and for a Friday night in the summer one would have thought they’d have a staff. The server just seemed blasé and careless. Despite not enjoying my meal no one ever checked in so I never had a chance to ask to get another sauce or make a change. I will not return.
Food was excellent but the music was very loud and overbearing. I ordered a birthday dessert when I made the reservation but it never came
I love going to Rice to meet a friend and we go there pretty often. This time, although the apps, drinks and service were great, we left a little early because the live music was wa-a-ay too loud. I even called later to let them know that the singer/guitarist needed to drop the decibel level for a small venue like Rice.
We really enjoyed the selection of sushi and the members of our group that don't like sushi had a number of other dishes to choose from. It's worth the 25+ minute drive from where we live in Southwest Ada County.
As always, excellent food and drinks. We enjoyed our time and would go back again.
Everything was wonderful....a party was very loud next to us....which is difficult to deal for everyone....otherwise a great experience as always...thanks to Jessica!
Great food, can be loud. Make reservations or grab an open seat in the lounge.
Always a great experience. Major is the best bartender!! Dusty has a flair as well. Andy has the most beautiful smile and we are always well taken care of!!
The food and service was wonderful. Live singer was not very appropriate for a relaxing dinner as she was not any good and the mike was too loud for the dining space. We packed it up and took it home.
I am a filipina and i really loves to eat on some asian cuisine restaurants. It's my first time on this restaurant and their food is so awesome. I love it and so with my in laws with me eating on that day. Not only because I'm asian I love the food but with my in laws which they are white said the foods are really good too. We love to go back here again to try some of their menus.
Food was very good and service outstanding. My only regret was that we were seated under the diffuser for the air conditioning unit and the temperature was very cool. Some of our party had jackets but other did not due to the outside temperature of low 70s. Overall a very good experience and we will be back, but with a jacket.
Great Hapopy our. Well drinks for $3. Nice selection of happy hour appetizers. Food was good. I had the Skinny Meal Salon with vegetables and Quinoa. It did not arrive with any Quinoa, but I was on the fence about asking for it. Decided to stick with just veggies which were done well. Salmon was a bit overcooked and very salty but overall flavor was fairly good. Would probably not order again. Hubbie enjoyed the sushi and our friends enjoyed their meals as well. Was a bit disappointed that the waiter asked if we wanted another drink 5 minutes AFTER Happy Hour ended instead of doing a "last call."
Using Open Table we were able to set the dinner time that we wanted which was very nice .
The food was outstanding as always, Drinks were a little weak tasted like punch.
The table that we were seated at had an issue with one of the legs being to short so the table would rock. Our waitress took the time to level the leg by putting something under it. Really does not sound like much but she was wearing a dress and had to get down on her knees to fix the table. This kind of service is rare.
Overall a very fun place to have a nice dinner.
Second time in and below average food for an above average price, won't be back
Great food! Had a wonderful time and will go back!
With Kevin Kirk and Sally Tibbs providing the music, we thoroughly enjoyed our evening at Rice! Both the appetizers and dinners were delicious!
Best kept secret in Eagle ID. We moved here almost four years ago and had never tried Rice Contemporary Asian Cuisine. The service was great, the food delicious, and the atmosphere relaxing. There's a vast selection of Asian foods and very reasonable prices for a delicious meal.
The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because my son was hoping for the bigger noodles in the
Pad Thai and it was made with rice noodles. Not really a big deal. I recommend this restaurant.
We'll be back for sure!
