Rice & Company - Luxor Ratings and Reviews
Rice has always been a go to place when in Vegas (6 times a year). Something has changed. We asked the waiter about the calamari and he said it was amazing. We ordered it. It was little slivers of calamari with a heavy tempura breading. It was so full of grease we couldn't eat it. The war wonton soup had pork filled won ton that didn't look cooked. I ordered the Kung Pao chicken, which I always order. It came with a sauce that tasted like BBQ sauce. There were no red pepper flakes or chili peppers in it. I asked the waiter what it was. He started stammering and then said he would have them remake it. It came back with a few chili peppers in it but no way did it taste or look like Kung Pao. I spent $81 on dinner and didn't really have anything to eat. I'm not sure I would be willing to try it again.
This restaurant is your typical large casino over priced "P.F. Changs" type experience. We ate there before going to The Blue Man Group show. The food is good however it is way over priced. We ordered three entrees and the server brought us two small bowls of rice. When I asked for some extra rice she said that it would be $4 extra. When I pointed out that we ordered three entrees and only had two bowls of rice she said that it didn't matter and would still charge me. A major annoyance to an already over priced meal. Although the food was decent I would not go back. Nothing special about it to justify the prices and the lack of service.
My husband and I have been here at least 5 times before this and had enjoyed Rice and Company immensely. The Peking Duck was one of the reasons that we kept coming back since it was one of the best we ever had. To our surprise, Peking Duck is no longer on the menu. It could have been our imagination but the service seemed slower than before and the food wasn't as good. We would still come back but not as one of our first choices of a restaurant since there are so many options in Las Vegas.
Was not the same place my wife and I enjoyed 5 years ago
The sushi burrito was bland
We have walk in places with better quality
The lettuce wraps came with a tiny wedge of lettuce. Who skimps on lettuce?
Wasn't busy on a Friday which should have worried us
Will not go back
Great dining experience from checking in for our reservation to cashing out after the meal. The service was very good and not rushed, so a relaxing dinner for two took an hour from start to finish. If you're in a hurry this might not work out well, but if it's what you want then this is the place to be.
Having said that, the food was very good and well portioned. We each had a bowl of soup (Egg Drop and Hot & Sour) which were both good, and shared the garlic noodles with chicken. It was just the right amount, not too much and not too little.
For dessert we shared the Godzilla chocolate cake. An excellent dessert for sure as it was very rich and tasty. It was also large and could easily be shared by 3 or 4 people.
I would definitely return again. Don't believe me though, try it for yourself! 🙂
Been to this restaurant twice now. Each time we made a reservation for a specific time, but when we showed up, we were told, both times, the servers were not ready. Had to wait each time for them to honor our reservation--late. How can they accept a reservation for a time if they know they won't be ready. The food isn't that good that I want to wait, even 10 minutes! Once seated, service is fine, portions are large enough for sharing. Just don't expect your reservation time to be honored.
Dropped in for a bite to eat before Blue Man Group. The service was the best part of our dining experience - our waiter was friendly and fairly attentive. The food is alright - there was a steak special that was tasty and the sushi was decent. The potstickers were nice and hot and the seaweed salad seemed fresh. Vegas food is always pricey, this place is no exception. It's a very convenient place to eat before any show at the Luxor, would come here again.
Even by the low standards of dining in Las Vegas, this is a unique atrocity. I'm not sure they've never actually tried half the dishes on their menu correctly prepared, as the pad thai was more reminiscent of overcooked noodles drowned in hot sauce, without even a trace of peanut.
Sushi had a very fishy taste. Obviously not very fresh. The prices however are not lower than your very high end sushi restaurants. But you dont get even near the quality you would at other places on the strip. Service was equally bad. Manager came by and asked us how our food was we told her everything that was wrong and she apologized and did nothing after to correct it. We did not even eat most of our rolls. They just threw it away.
