Always love Ricciuti's! Great food, service and atmosphere!!
Michelle, our server, was excellent and attentive. The host and other staff were also very empathetic when we arrived and surprisingly discovered our table was up a set of very steep stairs (not ideal for two older adults). They were not able to move us because of the size of the party.
The bread and butter were wonderful and addictive. Two members of our party had the crab cakes, which they enjoyed but felt were pricey at $25.00 for a single crab cake. The other food was generally fine. The penne with bolognese was overwhelmed by mozzarella cheese and resembled Grandma's baked ziti more than bolognese. Several members of our party had pizza - sauces, topping and cheese got the thumbs up. The crust? Not so much. One member of our party order a medium ribeye, which came very well done. However, he did not say anything about it being overcooked. I'm sure they would have corrected it had they known.
One member of our group of 10 ordered an appetizer salad for his entree. It came approximately 20 minutes after everyone else had been served their entree. They were apologetic and comped his meal, but that didn't make up for the fact that they had already started clearing some plates before he got his.
Restaurants, please stop clearing the plates from the table while other people are still eating unless you are specifically asked to do so! It rushes those who aren't done, and makes those who done are feeling like they rushed through dinner.
From the fresh fried oyster appetizer to the chocolate pizza dessert - everything was prepared and served beautifully. This was my daughter's birthday dinner and I was proud to have selected Ricciuti's to celebrate her special day. It is nice to find a relaxing atmosphere, where you can enjoy a conversation without competition from load music and kitchen noises.
This was my forth visit to Ricciuti's and I have had a great meal every time.
I love Riccuiti's. We go early because it is quieter and we stay as late as we can. I come so often that the staff remembers me. Most of the time I love the food. This time I tried something new which did not live up to my expectations (apple walnut pizza was a little sweet for a dinner entree). However, other people might like it just fine. I like the pizzas with the artichokes the best.
Everyone else at our table of seven was pleased.
I do find it a tad expensive, but worth it when you add in the prompt service and quiet room with attention to what you want. I also know that everthing these days is much more expensive than it used to be.
Of course I will go again. I just will not get apple walnut pizza. It was more like a dessert.
I greatly prefer pizza with a crust that has a little crunch to it; mine was pretty limp. The other reason I didn't like mine was strictly my own fault; it had caramelized onions which I generally love, but realized their sweetness didn't do much for me on top of a pizza. Live and learn. The person who got the vegetable lasagna, however, was very satisfied with it. The salads looked nice. Service was good. But with so many other Italian restaurants around, I'd prefer a different one in the future.
Easily one of the best restaurants in the state of Maryland
Our server (had a lot of Jewels on her tablet) was terrific.
Great find in a suburban area.
Very friendly and accommodating
We went there thinking it was a little more upscale than just a "Pizza place" in an "old house".
Unfortunately that's basically what it is.
We just didn't go there for pizza and the rest of the menu was very limited and just "ok".
The fire was perfect on this unseasonably cold spring day. Another good meal. The house made flatbread was warm and went well with the artichoke and spinach dip. The chicken and waffles are a perfect blend of sweet and savory. The crunch of the chicken goes perfectly with the texture of the waffles. We ended our meal with a cappucino. A wonderful end to an outstanding meal.
Gluten free desert was exquisite.
Beautiful historic restaurant . Great food and service! Highly recommend.
Our first meal at Ricciuti's was on Mother's Day after working up an appetite at the nearby Adventure Park at Sandy Spring. Family of 4 (boys age 9 and 12) enjoyed everything from "BBQ Meatloaf," "Cauliflower Rice and Veggie Stir Fry, a good old grass-fed beef burger, Caesar Salad, and penne pasta with meatballs. Everyone cleared their plates. The desserts were so so in comparison to the outstanding appetizers and entrees, but we had no regrets. Excellent service and comfortable ambiance. The boys remarked, "is this someone's house?" This was our first time dining in Olney at this lovely restaurant and we felt right at home. Even though we live in Loudoun County, VA, Dad and Mom intend to return for a date nignt! Thank you Open Table for bringing this restaurant to our attention.
We discussed while eating our meal today that we have never had a bad meal here. You are a fool to not try this place.
This restaurant uses local producers and is very conscious of health needs. Dishes are interesting. It is housed in an old house which makes the ambiance "homey." The staff is competent but always strike me as younger than most. Maybe that's good community relations.
Lunch was more than enjoyable. The bread was warm and crusty and the honey butter was the perfect spread.
The pizza was fired perfectly; the crust was crisp outside but not too crunchy. The wood fire gives it the perfect smokey taste.
The best was the chicken and waffles. The chicken was crispy and tender. It was moist but not juicy --- how do they do that? The sweet potato waffle went perfectly with the chicken. Not to sweet yet not savory either. There was just enough maple gravy to add something extra to the dish.
Delicious dinner with lots of options and farm fresh choices.
Celebrating together with Four Generations of family from 9 to 90. Menu met all tastes. Excellent food and great service made each of us happy to be dining here. We had food from all categories on the menu and all were very tasty. As always, a totally enjoyable dining experience.
The black bean and sweet potato chilli is incredibly delicious
We both had pizza and they were really good. I had the Forte - sausage, red onions, feta cheese, mozzarella, tomato sauce. The crust was just right and the 10" size was just right for me. My wife had the Margherita which was also quite good. The bread was very good as well and the service was spot on.
Service was very good as usual. Food was also very good. Because we had tickets to the theater, I felt I didn't have sufficient time to truly enjoy the meal. (In fact, I took most of the meal home with me. It was extremely good the next day.) Every time that I dine at Ricciuti's I'm pleasantly surprised. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for splendid meal in a friendly, pleasant atmosphere.
I love the food, it's my second time going to Ricciuti's restaurant. The food was very good, the service was excellent. I would take my friends there again!
. we were in a room next to the bar so there was a spill over of noise. Pizza was below par - crust over done and not much tomato sauce. Prices were above average but expected that when it was booked.
Service was outstanding
I really like Ricciuti's. The service is friendly; the food is great. It is usually quiet enough to talk and hear yourself think. We usually choose it for family get togethers; everyone likes it. I am disappointed that they will no longer be open for lunch on Fridays, but understand that it is a business decision. The pizza is so good that I enjoyed going with a friend on Fridays. Now I will have to order it for pick-up at 5:00 on Mondays to acomodate our schedule. There is always something I want to eat, and the chef leaves off anything that I do not want in the dish. Wonderful, caring, friendly wait staff! I have been there so often that I think I recogize Mr. Ricciuti.
There isn't a bad item in the menu
This is the first time we've been to Ricciutti's that I have not been thrilled with my meal. I eat half of my meal and didn't think much about it until we got into the car and my husband said his was stone cold. Mine was the same so not sure what was going on that evening but it was not the best. We will certainly go back for another try but if it is a miss again I think we will find a new place.
This dining experience lived up to the usual quality of Ricciuti's, except that they don't accept Open Table award certificates from your phone, which was a disappointment as I understood that these were accepted by participants.
We always enjoy Riccuiti's and find it especially convenient before we go to Olney Theater
Seated upstairs. Noisy. Chairs aren't that comfortable. Group of 4, bill was $200 before tip. The food was good, but not worth $ 50/pp. The Irish coffees were delicious. 2 of us had the special, Atlantic Cod w/ mashed potatoes. Very good, nice portion, 1 had veg lasagna- said it was OK. The other had Chicken Sambicca ( or something like that). I guess he liked it- he ate it all. 3 salads, two desserts. Our server was attentive and friendly, but nothing was brought out at the same time. The restaurant was crowded on a Sat night ( we had a reservation), and I noticed 2 people walking in to get pizza to go. They must have good pizza. So many great restaurants in Olney, hard to say that I would choose Riccuttis anytime again soon.
Creative cooking, attentive service, and a pleasant environment make Ricciuti's a safe bet for an enjoyable dining experience. An upscale dining experience at reasonable prices. The food is always super fresh tasting, and the flavor combinations are brilliant.
It seemed like the entree was left on the heat pickup shelf too long. The pasta and sauce had baked.
Great food, great service!
Three of us had delicious food, as always. The waiter was helpful and solicitous without being overbearing or annoying. We'll definitely return.
Have eaten here twice and the food and atmosphere have been very good. I would recommend it to friends. I love the creative approach to the food preparation.
Decor needs updating especially the green tile at the pizza counter. Our room was small with aged decor and a bit drafty windows. The food was good, waitress very friendly and attentive, the wine was excellent and fairly priced.
Had a great time. Hadnt been here in almost 10 years. The pizza was fantastic, the service was great, and the company was amazing. Will be back again!
The food here is absolutely wonderful. We've never had a dish that wasn't wonderful. It's right in downtown Olney but feels like it's somewhere out in the country.
Three of the four diners in our party were disappointed in our entrees. The veal risotto was too mushy, with the veal cut too fine, almost ground up. The lamb dish was served with a tomato sprinkle, which just did not go with the meat. A meatball pizza came with tiny chunks of meat that were almost tasteless. The fourth dish was OK but not great.
Riccuitis has been a top tier restaurant for years, but their recent switch to the "farm to table" style has greatly improved the menu. With a source list of local farms and a seasonally aware menu that updates weekly, Riccuitis holds the spot for top restaurant in Olney with no question. Your wallet, however will notice.
