It had been great restaurant with interesting and tasty food. But looked not any more. Service wasn't pleasant and the food was total disappointment. They said they are changing to more Japanese cuisine... I'm not sure it is their best bet so far.

Prix fixe menu was the only option tonight, which was frustrating as we only wanted some small plates and drinks. Wish they had let us know in advance, either when they called to confirm the reservation or when we arrived! Otherwise, people and setting were lovely.

The avocado and beef small plates were amazing. There was a really long gap between small plates and large plates. The food is still delicious, but we liked when they had the full menu better.

The evening that we visited, a fixed price menu was our only option. There were very few choices. The cheesecake dessert was terrible. The wine list was quirky - and not in a good way. We were seated very close to the door, practically on top of the host stand, despite having made a reservation. Staff was dressed in sneakers and tee shirts - surprising for a fairly expensive restaurant where patrons were dressed up.

I always prefer sitting at the bar when i get a chance. The food is always great and I love the fact that the menu is always evolving and changes to satisfy the foodies taste buds. The waitstaff is very knowledgable of the food and the presentation is always on point.
If you are looking to celebrate, invigorate your taste buds or just enjoy good quality food....Then Ribelle is te place to be ;)

My favorite restaurant in the Boston area. Unique - no one does what they do. Food, service are terrific and the place has a great vibe.

I don't know how the server could keep a straight face as she discussed their paternalistic food and wine 'philosophy', which included NOTHING vegetarian except bread and jam. In fact she said the chef makes no accommodations for dietary needs. An odd statement in 2015!

We had such a great time laughing at the entire experience that it was almost worth it! But I won't go back.

Our first visit to Ribelle last year was exceptional, but the menu has changed to a more Asian inspired theme. Usually that wouldn't bother me but I would've preferred more variety in our choices. Also, some of the dishes seemed overly salty. I'd still go back though because they're known for being very inventive..

At first glance this restaurent is unprepossessing, but look more closely and you will appreciate the decor details. The number of food choices is limited but everything we ordered was delicious. We needed a lot of help from the waiter because of all the unusual Asian ingredients, but he was unfailingly patient and helpful. Prices are moderate for the quality. Strongly recommended.

This was our second time a Ribelle. We were disappointed that the tasting menu was not available (we had heard it was terrific), but our server helped us put together a menu of options for sharing. Everything was so tasty and flavorful! We were thrilled with the quality of each dish and look forward to returning.

This is a very hard review for me to write. The food was delicious. We sat at the bar and the bartender was excellent - friendly, welcoming but not intrusive. Then, as we were eating our meals, we observed the chef, tasting food out of skillets and the fryer with cooking utensils going up to his moth and then back into the container for later use. We said something about it to the bartender and then a manager who came by. They acknowledged it and said that he was putting the utensils back into bleach water before they were used again for cooking. Still, to see those utensils go into and out of his mouth only to be used again (after reportedly going into bleach water) was disconcerting. We will not go back again unless we learn that that practice has changed.

Went for girlfriend's birthday, she loves good food.
Host staff was awesome, accommodated our change of seat requests to make it special for us.
Wait staff and Bartenders were great, engaging and knowledgeable.
Manager treated us really well and the food was out of this world!
Great flavors and textures. Really was wonderful.

The food was good, but there was a noticeable amount of extra salt on just about everything. The staff had a fabulous grasp on food and drink. Able to pair without any hesitation. The wine list is very good.
