About Ribalta Pizza
Leading Ribalta is a pizza dream team who have already made their reputation in New York City's pizza world and are dedicated to providing the most delicious, fun, and truly Neapolitan pizza experience in the city: Rosario Procino, former founder of Keste pizzeria, and Chef Pasquale Cozzolino, former Executive Chef at Dellaroccos in Brooklyn Heights and Pizza Arte. For Procino and Cozzolino, Neapolitan pizza is more than a method of making pizza that’s taught in Naples. It’s a complete dining experience that’s reflective of the Italian city’s rich, unique and vibrant culture.

Ribalta Pizza Ratings and Reviews
Ive been to ribalta a few times and it has quickly become one of my go to favorite real italian places in NYC (I am Italian and very particular). This time I gave them the real test... A group birthday dinner for my best friend. Organizing it was SO easy (they accept large reservations on open table) to adding a few people at the last minute via a 5 second call... the process was smooth and easy.
Come birthday night, I was worried (i had talked this place up to everyone who confides in me as being the 'real italian').... my expectations were blown. With a group of 12, the waiter was a rockstar/host, everything.. I mean EVERYTHING came out perfectly cooked and withing the perfect time and we were treated like family.
Yes, ribalta makes good food for a casual dinner.. but ribalta is the best place i have ever hosted a group dinner at in NYC.
Thanks for the memorable night!
Regrettably the front door opens to send an Artic blast to those seated nearby. Needless to say it is constant. My pizza was burnt on the bottom. The waiter promised a quick replacement and he delivered. Both times the Center was soggy enough to require a knife and fork. Not the way I want to eat pizza. The bolognaise pasta was pretty good. The veal scallopini average. Bread was great. Espresso portion was very small. I’ve travelled to Italy four times and never had a thimbleful like that.
Second time there. First time we had the regular Neapolitan margarita pizza and a great wine. This time we tried the Pizza in Pala, which is a rectangular shaped thicker crusty Neapolitan Pizza. It was a different experience and delicious. Next time we return, I’ll have a tough time deciding what Pizza we’ll eat. But we also do want to try the pastas. The first time we had a few glasses of a delicious Primativo wine from Puglia. I recommend that the owner put it on the regular menu by the glass list. I asked for it this time, but the server said it wasn’t a available by the glass . :-(. We had to settle for a less interesting wine. I was disappointed. Service was Great. Management was so accommodating. Just what we like. It was very casual but yummy.
Ribalta consistently offers the best pizza in town, real Neapolitan pizza, delicious taste. No preservatives and good quality products (as evidenced by the fact that I never walk away thirsty for the rest of the day/night as happens everywhere else). Before discovering Ribalta I had given-up on pizza in NY and was simply cooking my own but now I found someone who does a better job that I could ever do. Way to go!!!
Amazing gluten-free pizza. I love that they let you customize your own pizza. The atmosphere was cozy and fun. Just perfect for meeting friends. The music was super loud, but that only added to the ambience. Our server was from Italy and totally awesome at his job.
This is a restaurant known for pizzas and in general italian food. This is the italian food you shall find most closest to italy in the way pizzas are made.
It has also good pasta and some starters.
To anyone who wants to try italian food but closer to authentic (.offcourse not the same) then this is the stop in the new york city
We had a reservation for 11:00pm through the app. When we arrived at 10:45 the host said we couldn't be seated because the kitchen was closing at 11:00pm. They we taking reservations until 12:00 on the app so he agreed to take us back to a table after I produced evidence of the mix-up.
As we were walking back to the table he muttered some inappropriate and rude comments to the server in Spanish about our group. He must of not realized they were not the only ones who could understand them. After the rude welcome and inappropriate comments we decided to leave and go to another place around the corner.
Went on a friday night for dinner with friends. It was crowded and loud: but not so crowded as to make it uncomfortable and not so loud that we had to raise our voices to be heard. The seevice was great considering the crowd and the staff was friendly enough. It's an italian restaurant, so the menu was fairly diverse in that spectrum. Pizza was their flag ship, served in personal 18" pies that were great for sharing. The pizzas were fantastic: the cheese, the sauce, the crusts were all fantastic. The beer and wine list could be a little broader, but the number of signature cocktails(I recommend the Italian Divorce!) round out the menu enough to make everyone happy. The prices were reasonable considering it's a nice restaurant in Manhattan: ~$30 per person for an entree and cocktail. The bathrooms were clean. I'd recommend reservations.
This is a neighborhood place so I eat here all the time. But this was the first time I went with a large group ... we were 9 people of multiple generations. Ribalta was a hit with everyone ! We all loved it. The service was just perfect and the food, as always, was wonderful.
Here below I will share with you my experience:
I booked the table roughly 20 Days in advance.
I arrived in Ribalta and they told me: ' we apologize but we do not consider your reservation because there is the football match of SSC Napoli'.
I told: 'hey sir, are you telling me that reservation issued by OpenTable is rubish?'
Ribalta: ' yes sir, during the football match we do not accept the reservation'
End of the story: after several discussions (30 minutes) they found me an improbable table on the street.
Considering that I was there with a child my experience was totally negative.
PS pizza is good
As a lover of vegetables, I must praise the brussel sprouts; we had a second side-vegetable, also green I think and served cold and it was fabulous -- just absolutely addictive. One of us got sausages that he said were very good. Another of us got pizza that he thoroughly enjoyed. And the one dessert that one person ordered was some sort of ice cream with intensely strong espresso poured over it and some kind of crunchy dark crumbs garnishing it - he loved it.
