About Ribalta Pizza
Leading Ribalta is a pizza dream team who have already made their reputation in New York City's pizza world and are dedicated to providing the most delicious, fun, and truly Neapolitan pizza experience in the city: Rosario Procino, former founder of Keste pizzeria, and Chef Pasquale Cozzolino, former Executive Chef at Dellaroccos in Brooklyn Heights and Pizza Arte. For Procino and Cozzolino, Neapolitan pizza is more than a method of making pizza that’s taught in Naples. Ribalta Pizza Ratings and Reviews
Best pizza in NYC??? Are you insane?
Went to this place based on the raves and boy were we disappointed. Mediocre pizza at best (it's still pizza, folks). Service was NOT good - maybe it was his first day - but we had to remind him to bring our drinks AFTER our food arrived. That was after we had to flag him down, while he was just standing by the computer for 10 minutes staring at it???
Entrees came 1st, pizza came 10-15 minutes later??
Maybe we were there on an off night, but we will NOT be going back.
Went with friends for a nice lunch in the city, but when we tried the calamari, i.t did not taste right. when we told the waiter what was wrong, he was very polite about i.t, but the manager was clearly insulted by our dislike in his calamari. He was very nasty and rude to all of us because we did not like a dish. he gave us a very hard time about i.t. The pizza was great, but the service ruined our meal and our day in the city. They did miss ingredients out of my meal ( i️ ordered a pizza with black truffles and truffle oil but neither of which were on the white pizza). since the pizza tasted good, I️ did not send i.t back. Then the bill came and they charged 26$ for a personal pie which did not have the truffles so I️ complained again and asked them to change the price. He also said I️ was wrong and gave me extreme sass and attitude which was not appreciated. He still made me pay for the truffle pizza but said he would a discount, 5 dollars off the 80 dollar meal. When we walked out of the restaurant, the manager made a rude remark, “stupid kids.” I️ will never be going back there.
La pizza e assolutamente molto buona
Locale molto rumoroso
We loved Ribalta. Food was amazing as always. This time we are a bit unluckyas we had to sit close to the main door. Every time someone opened the door, we got a blow of freezing cold air in our backs. So, if you have the option (we didn’t) stay away from the door.
The food here was delicious. There were a variety of pizzas and pastas with a creative flair. Wait staff was attentive. It had a contemporary flair in terms of decoration. NYC table water is the best and they provided it in a carafe and kept it coming. There was a huge TV on the wall displaying a soccer game, and I think people come to watch soccer too. We had a table off to the side by the pizza oven/kitchen and that made for nice viewing.
The noise was so unbelievable that we left without eating. Friends cannot talk here. I've been there in the afternoon and the pizza was really terrific. We brought out friends and we were all disappointed when we had to eat at a place with worse food but a place where we could talk. This is a good place to go alone, because presumably you can hear your own thoughts.
We received sour burrata as an appetizer. We informed the waitress. The owner subsequently tried to explain that we were tasting “unpasteurized cheese” for the first time. We weren’t. And it just wasn’t good. Gluten free pizza is OK. Rubirosa is much better for similar pricing.
Our waitress was great.
The food was just fantastic and the staff was great, but the noise level was over the top. The three of us had to shout at each other to be heard. I could hear any conversation I cared to listen to of the people at the adjacent tables. I understand why they would want to keep the table seating as it is, but things could be done in the interior to dampen the noise level. Blasting the music at a louder volume to provide a cover for some privacy for conversations is not a solution to the problem. it adds to the problem. The management should spend some money and soften the environment. Hire an acoustician.
Have been a regular at this place for well over a year-visiting at least once a week since we live in the neighborhood. On this last visit, we noticed a “grade pending” in the window-which worried us but we ate here anyway since we have been coming often. Looked up the sanitation report-which was absolutely shocking-we are not talking broken lightbulbs here...and now there is a C in the window-a C!! Not sure what is going on-the food was always worth putting up with the 80’s disco blasted at a million decibels. Will wait and see, but haven’t been back since. Hoping they can get it together.
Ive been to ribalta a few times and it has quickly become one of my go to favorite real italian places in NYC (I am Italian and very particular). This time I gave them the real test... A group birthday dinner for my best friend. Organizing it was SO easy (they accept large reservations on open table) to adding a few people at the last minute via a 5 second call... the process was smooth and easy.
Come birthday night, I was worried (i had talked this place up to everyone who confides in me as being the 'real italian').... my expectations were blown. With a group of 12, the waiter was a rockstar/host, everything.. I mean EVERYTHING came out perfectly cooked and withing the perfect time and we were treated like family.
Yes, ribalta makes good food for a casual dinner.. but ribalta is the best place i have ever hosted a group dinner at in NYC.
Thanks for the memorable night!
Regrettably the front door opens to send an Artic blast to those seated nearby. Needless to say it is constant. My pizza was burnt on the bottom. The waiter promised a quick replacement and he delivered. Both times the Center was soggy enough to require a knife and fork. Not the way I want to eat pizza. The bolognaise pasta was pretty good. The veal scallopini average. Bread was great. Espresso portion was very small. I’ve travelled to Italy four times and never had a thimbleful like that.
Second time there. First time we had the regular Neapolitan margarita pizza and a great wine. This time we tried the Pizza in Pala, which is a rectangular shaped thicker crusty Neapolitan Pizza. It was a different experience and delicious. Next time we return, I’ll have a tough time deciding what Pizza we’ll eat. But we also do want to try the pastas. The first time we had a few glasses of a delicious Primativo wine from Puglia. I recommend that the owner put it on the regular menu by the glass list. I asked for it this time, but the server said it wasn’t a available by the glass . :-(. We had to settle for a less interesting wine. I was disappointed. Service was Great. Management was so accommodating. Just what we like. It was very casual but yummy.
Ribalta consistently offers the best pizza in town, real Neapolitan pizza, delicious taste. No preservatives and good quality products (as evidenced by the fact that I never walk away thirsty for the rest of the day/night as happens everywhere else). Before discovering Ribalta I had given-up on pizza in NY and was simply cooking my own but now I found someone who does a better job that I could ever do. Way to go!!!
