Ribalta Pizza Ratings and Reviews
I’m Italian and I MUST say I’ve eaten one of the best pizza ever. My girlfriend ordered a pasta and also that one was delicious. I like so much the fact that the restaurant is offering REAL TYPICAL ITALIAN SPECIALITIES.
The ambience and the staff was very nice. Full of Italian waiters, I felt like at home in Italy!
Suggested for real Italian food! :)
Booked this for an anniversary and was unfortunate to get put on a table next to the serving station. It was incredibly loud and spent the night hearing the servers complain about tables across the restaurant, being bumped and knocked by servers, and trying to hear over the noise of dishes. Waiters took our cocktail glasses and didnt offer for refill, and then pushed us out with the bill. Assume our anniversary note was missed, and was really disappointed overall. A big shame as the food was actually incredible!
Excellent pizza--that's what you are here for. Other offerings (such as salads) seem ordinary, but one look at the pizza over in the back of the restaurant and you will know how Ribalta creates fantastic crust. I prefer the pizzas that include tomato sauce rather than the "white" ones. Noise level is very high.
Hands-down, the best spaghetti pomodoro I had ever had. The tomatoes are flown in from Mt. Vesuvias in Italy and are the most delicious tomatoes you will ever eat. The pizza is outstanding as well. I would like to say that the place is a good value but keep in mind you have to pay more for quality ingredients. Well worth the price. Outstanding food, service and quality. Highly recommended. Great for families too.
The best and true Napolitan pizza (and appetizers and primi if you would rather), in a comfortable and very gioviale atmosphere! If you want a true Italian experience, go to Ribalta when Italian teams are playing football! This is a wonderful place in all aspects.
Food was tasty but the amibiance was horrible. One of the servers must have been a big Gloria Gaynor fan bc I will Survive was turned up then down then up then even higher over the course of the song. Our server was kind but pushy and did not allow us time to review the full menu before coming back to the table on three separate occasions. While I understand that table turnover is valuable, I would have appreciated a few more minutes and space to talk over food options with my date.
Best pizza in NYC??? Are you insane?
Went to this place based on the raves and boy were we disappointed. Mediocre pizza at best (it's still pizza, folks). Service was NOT good - maybe it was his first day - but we had to remind him to bring our drinks AFTER our food arrived. That was after we had to flag him down, while he was just standing by the computer for 10 minutes staring at it???
Entrees came 1st, pizza came 10-15 minutes later??
Maybe we were there on an off night, but we will NOT be going back.
Went with friends for a nice lunch in the city, but when we tried the calamari, i.t did not taste right. when we told the waiter what was wrong, he was very polite about i.t, but the manager was clearly insulted by our dislike in his calamari. He was very nasty and rude to all of us because we did not like a dish. he gave us a very hard time about i.t. The pizza was great, but the service ruined our meal and our day in the city. They did miss ingredients out of my meal ( i️ ordered a pizza with black truffles and truffle oil but neither of which were on the white pizza). since the pizza tasted good, I️ did not send i.t back. Then the bill came and they charged 26$ for a personal pie which did not have the truffles so I️ complained again and asked them to change the price. He also said I️ was wrong and gave me extreme sass and attitude which was not appreciated. He still made me pay for the truffle pizza but said he would a discount, 5 dollars off the 80 dollar meal. When we walked out of the restaurant, the manager made a rude remark, “stupid kids.” I️ will never be going back there.
La pizza e assolutamente molto buona
Locale molto rumoroso
We loved Ribalta. Food was amazing as always. This time we are a bit unluckyas we had to sit close to the main door. Every time someone opened the door, we got a blow of freezing cold air in our backs. So, if you have the option (we didn’t) stay away from the door.
The food here was delicious. There were a variety of pizzas and pastas with a creative flair. Wait staff was attentive. It had a contemporary flair in terms of decoration. NYC table water is the best and they provided it in a carafe and kept it coming. There was a huge TV on the wall displaying a soccer game, and I think people come to watch soccer too. We had a table off to the side by the pizza oven/kitchen and that made for nice viewing.
The noise was so unbelievable that we left without eating. Friends cannot talk here. I've been there in the afternoon and the pizza was really terrific. We brought out friends and we were all disappointed when we had to eat at a place with worse food but a place where we could talk. This is a good place to go alone, because presumably you can hear your own thoughts.
We received sour burrata as an appetizer. We informed the waitress. The owner subsequently tried to explain that we were tasting “unpasteurized cheese” for the first time. We weren’t. And it just wasn’t good. Gluten free pizza is OK. Rubirosa is much better for similar pricing.
Our waitress was great.
The food was just fantastic and the staff was great, but the noise level was over the top. The three of us had to shout at each other to be heard. I could hear any conversation I cared to listen to of the people at the adjacent tables. I understand why they would want to keep the table seating as it is, but things could be done in the interior to dampen the noise level. Blasting the music at a louder volume to provide a cover for some privacy for conversations is not a solution to the problem. it adds to the problem. The management should spend some money and soften the environment. Hire an acoustician.
