Rialto Cafe Ratings and Reviews
This is not the place to go if you have plans after your meal. It took about 25 minutes to place a drink order. We had been seated and waited an entire hour before our server came back to take our dinner order. I had to request for her to bring our bill as soon as we received our food because she didn't come around very often. It could've just been a bad night but I won't be going back to this establishment any time soon.
The food was good and exactly as noted on the menu. We were seated at a table that was by a makeshift pass through to the kitchen and had servers squeezing by us intermittently. Not great. They shouldn’t allow that to happen. It made conversation feel constantly interrupted.
Waitstaff was engaged, but behaved as if still in training. Very kind and tried to accommodate as much as possible.
Corner booth was VERY uncomfortable and in high traffic area. Not the best spot to squeeze in more patrons.
Food was disappointing, to be generous. Quality, flavor, presentation, and selection left a lot to be desired, unfortunately.
We went for NYE and assumed it would be pretty crazy, but it really wasn't. Our server, Christopher, was very friendly and helpful. The food was very good. We had the salmon, delicious, the shrimp and lobster ravioli, very flavorful, and the scallops, which were also very good. The reason we down graded the food is because there were only three scallops on the plate. For the price we thought this was quite skimpy, it seemed more like an appetizer than an entrée. We shared a brownie sundae for dessert.
Good, but we’ve had better experiences before. Waiter seemed off, but got a little better as we went. Food was slow and then part of mine was burnt on the top. It’s such a minor thing too, but we missed the cornbread we got in the past. Love the theatre menu and free parking with it, but this visit was just okay. Good, not great.
The happy hour specials were a terrific deal. We enjoyed wine and an appetizer and then had a couple of entrees. The bison meatloaf was outstanding. The chicken pot pie was tasty but it was rather scarce on chicken. The interior was colorful with a warm cozy atmosphere. We enjoyed ourselves and will return (but please upgrade the chicken pot pie!)
We had five dishes and everyone of them had a major problem...floating in oil, overcooked and dry, way too much salt, and on. The waiter never returned to the table so they was no way to see if they could be corrected. We left most of the food on the plates as it was inedible.
We are not sure if they had a third or fourth level cook in the kitchen since this was the weekend before Xmas but we will not return to try them again.
This was our third visit to the Rialto and it was just as outstanding as every other visit has been.
The waitstaff is very attentive, the food selections are wonderful and delicious, and there is never a long wait for food or for the check. I love the ambience of the Rialto - classy place without the classy price. Perfect for a pre-performance dinner! We will be coming to the Rialto next time we attend a performance in Denver!
I loved the Rialto! I went with friends before seeing a performance at the Buell and we were really happy with the food, service, and atmosphere. I would be comfortable there for a casual meal or a special one... its rare to find a place that can meet both ends of that spectrum. The location was perfect, which is why we chose it, but I'd go there again for any occasion in downtown Denver. Really nice!
Not very good. Our server seemed very put out by our asking that we had theatre tickets and had to order quickly. We were there at 11:30 and allowed over an hour to make our theatre opening. My husband asked for a mimosa. She brought only half of it and asked him to go downstairs to chose his fruit juice. After getting my order I had a really long blond hair in my omelet. So no, I was not really impressed and probably won’t be back. Thanks for asking.
Rialto is "tied" to the hotel next door so if a hotel guest smokes in a room, the fire alarm goes off in the restaurant also (told this by server). We finally asked for to go boxes as the fire alarm just kept going and going like the Energizer bunny. Good food and service otherwise. We ate here 3-4 years ago and remembered it being more fine dining. Now the word cafe on the end of it's name is appropriate.
great location for pre-theater dinner, a quick two block walk. No vegetarian options. Atmosphere is lacking, tables, chairs, like run of the mill franchise restaurants, so the ambiance is nothing to write home about, but the food was surprisingly good. We ordered salmon, pot pie, chicken sandwich and burrata appetizer (for our vegetarian) and all were pleased with their meals.
Waitress did her best but this visit was terrible due to extremely long wait for food and drink, no corn bread... ran out! And we had a reservation but were placed in the front... to the right of the entrance. Noisy and no ambiance. We have come a lot and this visit was terrible. Waitress was great but you could see how stressed she was about a situation beyond her control.
We would absolutely recommend Rialto to friends and will be going back soon!! The wait staff was absolutely incredible. The speed of service was a perfect pace. We were not rushed and didn't feel like we had to wait for anything. Definitely come to this amazing restaurant! The food was absolutely delicious and let us switch out the green beans for grilled asparagus. YUM!!
Made reservations for 7 and had our table waiting for us even though we arrived 15 minutes early. Our waiter, Ryan ( I believe), was excellent! He easily handled our multiple orders and a few separate checks. He was always there when we needed another round or anything. Our food was good, drinks were good. It was a great place for a gang of friends meeting up for the lights of 16th St. and a great meal!
