Outdoor dining is important in today's environment.
We were very pleased with our service, the food and the ability of staff to place something under the legs of the table to make it more stable on uneven but beautiful bricks. We will be back again.
We visit this restaurant every time we are in Asheville. It's our favorite.
Service was painfully slow. We had to ask if we could order after our appetizers came out from a food runner and our drinks weren’t at the table yet. We had been there for over 30 minutes at that point. And the server forgot to put a dish in and totally forgot about it. The kitchen runner brought our dinners and we didn’t see our server again until we flagged her down after we finished our meal and asked if we could order dessert ...and let her know about the dish that never came. Not what you expect for an expensive place. They are booked all the time because of their location, not their service.
Booked for brunch last minute. Sat on the patio. I had the whole grain and potato hash which was absolutely phenomenal and had the benefit of feeling pretty healthy. I balanced the latter out with a Bloody Mary just to keep my system balanced. The home made Bloody Mary mix and pickles were, again, phenomenal. But the real reason to visit Rhubarb is the Fried Chicken Biscuit. I mean, they call it that on the menu but honestly it needs a name more suitable to what it is - crispy, sweet, spicy, soft, juicy morsels made by the gods for the gods. My wife had the foresight to order this and I came pretty close to ordering second brunch just to get some more of it once I’d had a taste. I can’t think of a better way to kick off our Asheville culinary experience but I now know exactly how all future visits will begin.
So slow. Asked for wine at beginning of meal and didn’t get it until 45 minutes later - still charged for it too.
Wow!! I can’t say enough great things about this place. Everything we ordered was delicious. The hush puppies were to die for! Our waiter was so welcoming and gave great recommendations. Would absolutely eat here again!
The food was poorly plated for the money spent on it. The dishes were so unappealing. We got the strawberry and feta salad and it was so bland, so small, the strawberries had no flavor. We also got the crispy spare ribs which had barely any meat. For such a highly recommended place, we were very disappointed.
Great food and service. We sat in the bar area. Smiley, the bartender/mixologist was awesome. The best thing about him was the amazing craft cocktails he made for us and unlike a lot of mixologist we did not have to wait 20 minutes for him to mix the cocktails.
Look forward to going back.
I would have given five stars, but the angle food cake desert was not angel food cake as I know it. It was dense not spongy and not to my liking.
The atmosphere in the outdoor "tent" was lovely. Service was pretty good. The food choices were very eclectic and delicious. I would recommend the steak and the fish specials. The hush puppies app was great for sharing! The dessert which looked amazing on the menu, was rather average. Brownie with mint chip ice cream. Brownie was average and there was a small dollop of ice cream. I would overall recommend. The atmosphere was exciting and lively.
Great vibe and really well done food. Shout out to Ethan for being a great server and magically producing the best duck confit! Will be back soon.....
The food was not as great as the hype. It was delicious but not fabulous. Waiter forgot several items and service was super slow. Given that there is a strong request to complete a meal in 1 1/2 hours, it would be better to have drinks and food delivered in time to comply.
Very enjoyable brunch. We had Shrimp grits temperature was not warm enough but flavor was great. Chicken & biscuit was FABULOUS! Bloody Mary very flavorful. Their pickled side is tasty. Definitely visit!
Our server was attentive, friendly, and informed. Food was delicious without exception.
Excellent fun place
Always a great experience. Wonderful food and service.
We were traveling - Rhubarb received a great review on TripAdvisor. Rebecca our server was wonderful!!
Loved the food, but I hated the street noise. The music was too loud and we could not carry on a conveersation
Delicious food with knowledgable service. Excellent evening.
Had been looking forward to dinner here for a long time! We were tucked in a corner, so did not get much of the atmosphere. Server was amazing! Gnocchi presentation is lovely and was my favorite dish. Duck wings were recommended and they were OK. Meatballs were tasty but the presentation was really lacking. Lemon bar dessert was fantastic!
The menu lacked excitement. Lots of grains, but no veggies.
The food was amazing. This spot is a must go!
I had booked what was available and that was a hightop table. We were seated at the only hightop table I saw which was in the bar. At first we were put out because the ambiance is odd in the bar of a restaurant, but it turned out to be a great experience. We were right by the window, it was quiet and the bartender was efficient and friendly. The food is so amazingly good. If hush puppies are offered, don't miss them. The shrimp and grits were yummy as well as the black eyed peas and hoppin John. Anything on the menu will please your palate. The drinks were delicious too! All good.
How is this place rated so highly? Soup is supposed to be hot. A restaurant that cannot manage that is not very promising. After that, we had a few boring appetizers of duck wings and pickled shrimp and we left before we could be disappointed with entrees.
Our dinner at Rhubarb was fantastic! I highly recommend the hush puppies and the desserts were fabulous! Great service and atmosphere. Would definitely visit again!
Food and service are spectacular. Based on the portion sizes and the price the value is lacking. Overall a great spot for cocktails and a small plate. Would definitely recommend to others.
Fantastic. The Trout was unbelievably good. Next time I am in Asheville Rhubard is where I will have dinner.
Lackluster service where we felt we were an inconvenience. Incredible food, but the service was incredibly poor.
Our Saturday midday menu was a brunch menu. I selected shrimp and grits, largely for the Benton's bacon--thick cut intensely smoky. It worked well with the course grits and red shrimp.
I initially, our table area was very cold. I wish there were more vegetables on my plate. Otherwise it was very good.
The Farmer’s Cheese Burrata was delicious as well as the Wood Roasted Half Chicken. The Bavette Steak was tasty, but portion was a bit small. Great ambience and service.
The service was absolutely fabulous!! Our table was not ready at the time of the reservation but the manager and staff went above and beyond to make up for it. The appetizers were delicious and our main courses were even better! We sat outside on the patio and even though it was chilly, the heat lamps made up for it. I’m very pleased and would recommend anyone to go check them out!!
Great old fashioned too 🥃
Superb food. Everything we ordered was too notch. Memorable.
It was an epic meal . . . such fresh ingredients, subtle flavors, perfectly prepared & professionally served. Lovely, friendly ambiance, seated in an airy dining room close to the open, meticulously clean kitchen. “Social distancing” was politely respected by all. Our server was extremely knowledgeable about the menu, and the chef was extremely obliging in helping me to eat within constraints of dairy- & gluten-free limitations. Not an extensive wine list, but excellent choices in a wide range of prices. We unquestionably will return on our next visit to Asheville.
First time at Rhubarb was enjoyable. Good food and drinks. Server named Carrie was excellent, helpful and funny. Good outdoor option and happy to see them following the CDC guidelines to keep us safe.
The food was amazing , so fresh and the presentation was beautiful. Our server was very attentive and gave good description of the menu. Our drinks were also very good. I would recommend this farm to table restaurant to anyone who is a foodie
Pleasant wait staff. Great recommendations. I had the goat cheese burrata and SC black bass. The burrata itself was very good but the sauce and garnish was slightly bitter so I didn't eat much. The fish was amazing. Crunchy skin -perfect. I've never eaten ramps before. They were outstanding. Great dish.
