The food here is always good, haven't ordered anything on the menu that I don't like. The staff is friendly, and the beers are extra cold. The atmosphere is fun, but it does get really crowded on weekends so plan accordingly (reservations on opentable?).

We really enjoyed our food and the service was very good. I would describe the fare as a good “take” on German food. I tried the Jaegerschnitzel. The take? It was made with beef! Interesting and delicious. My wife’s Pork Schnitzel was good, leaning more toward a picatta. Our next dining partner’s sausage plate was excellent.
The reason we didn’t rate the place higher? The Sunday football games playing on the big screen TVs were so loud it hurt. Turn it down a decibel or two fellas!

The food was mediocre at best and over priced for the value. We love to treat ourselves to fine German food when possible and it was our first time in Seattle. There were more than a few choices for German food. Unfortunately we were disappointed with our choice.

Our small group had lunch there recently. It was quite compared to what I've heard it can be. The place has a great atmosphere and plenty of bar area. The food was good and the service was very good with nice people. Service may be different on a crowded Friday night, but that won't be me. The bocce courts add a great social time, but if you are a "serious" bocce player who knows and plays international rules, this is not the place. Courts are ~ 45'L x 7'W which is half the length and near half the width of a regulation court. The courts are enough to have fun with friends and drink. Prost!

With an excellent selection of beers, dark moldings and benches, and a high ceiling, there's a feeling of being in a German beer hall. The pretzels and sausages are all homemade but I found the bratwurst to be milder than I would in Germany. What makes this place different is the presence of five bocce courts, which are right in the middle of the building and rentable by the hour.

Our waitress, although just finishing her training, was competent and very friendly. She was willing to substitute German potato salad for the standard mashed potatoes and allowed us to add a second kind of sausage to our plate for five dollars. The best item on the menu, in our opinion, is the warm German chocolate cake with ice cream and embedded coconut flakes. Maybe the apple strudel is better but it wasn't available.

Because the high ceilinged hall requires a lot of heating, temperature is definitely on the cooll side so, if you come in the winter be dressed for it. We think this place would be best enjoyed on a warm summer evening with a lot of friends.

I've dined at Rhein Haus a few times when I've been in Seattle on business and it has become one of my favorite places in the city. Great German food and beer in a lively atmosphere.

Great food and beer, we stopped by before the U2 concert and parked our car nearby then uber-ed to the Century Link - best idea instead of parking at the Stadium. Staff were friendly, quick to serve us and food was hot and delicious - selection of sliders, spetzle, curried brats and decadent chocolate cake! We were out in a timely manner, only wish we had had more time to enjoy a game of Bocce!

It was a sunny Tues. evening so we started outside with happy hour. Nice fun causal atmosphere. Great service, amazing pretzels!
Moved inside for dinner. Ordered the platter with a great selection of food to try. It fed 3 people. I had the brat wrapped in bacon, yum! To finish it off the German chocolate cake is just a perfect ending!

Located in the heart of Seattle, near Seattle University, Rhein Haus offers a unique change from the more famous seafood restaurants along the Waterfront. Service is great, atmosphere is tremendous and there are even some boccie lanes. This is not a Geman Gasthaus so there are some liberties with the menu, but nonetheless Rhein Haus will meet your family or business dining needs in a one of kind setting.

Delicious German food, as good as I've ever had! Went with a group of 7 and everyone was very happy with their food. My aunt said she got the best bloody mary she's ever had (and she's tried many in her lifetime). Would highly recommend!

I came to celebrate my 35th birthday. We sat in the balcony directly above the entrance. Our server was gracious and humorous. He attended to our needs, but wasn't intrusive, and felt like a genuinely caring person. The bocce lanes were below us, and there was a corporate event in the space. It was a bit intrusive, as one of their party was shouting strange things at random intervals in a most annoying cartoon voice, but this is more reflective of the lack of couth on their part, not the fault of Rhein House.
The menu is overly expansive, and is difficult to parse information from. It needs to be a bit narrower. Combine the drinks menu with the food menu, so there are less things taking up table space.
I will definitely be making happy hour arrangements here again, and now that I understand how the bocce courts work, I will plan ahead. I think that I would be the perfect daytime guest for Rhein House, but I fear that the evenings will be too chaotic and collegiate for my taste.

Delicious schnitzel and potato salad. Great value. Decor is both elegant and rustic. It is slightly noisy here, and it has sports screens. I'd happily return for dinner, and I look forward to trying brunch.

First time we've ever been to Rhein Haus and will definitely go back. We had a $75 gift card and planned on dinner, but happened to hit Happy Hour and had plenty of food and two drinks; plus we still have enough money to go a second time. There are several areas where guests can play boccie ball. We didn't play this time, but will definitely do that the next time.

We met friends here earlier this week for dinner. First, the service was terrible. We had at least 4-5 random people serving us. They forgot drinks, forgot to take our order, food took forever, forgot to give us water (but they delivered the glasses - one star for trying!). It was annoying. Second, it was freezing in there! Our feet were cold by the time we left. We sat in the front of the restaurant opposite the bar right near the door (thanks for the great seating btw not!) when they could have put us way in the back. The fireplace wasn't in and clearly nor was the heat. We wore our jackets the entire time. It was uncomfortable. Third, the saving grace was the food (beer pretzel and sausage sampler) and atmosphere and beer. The food was great, as was the beer and it really is a cool place to hang out with friends. Lastly, the German cupcake dessert was flat out awful. Dry, tasted thawed from being frozen for god knows how long, definitely not fresh. I'm surprised they would even consider that acceptable to serve.
Overall 3 stars, won't go back anytime soon, but maybe....

This is more sports oriented than German food oriented. The happy hour offerings were more than enough to make a full dinner, and the food was good - if you didn't expect it to taste like authentic German food. The German potato salad had next to no flavor, but the goulash was wonderful. It's a fun place with bocce courts, and lots of loud tvs to watch sports. Not so good if you are looking for a quiet dinner, but is a nice decor. Our server was fantastic.

This is not German food by any stretch. My husband lived there for 4 years and I've been half dozen times, so I can assure you it is not. At best, it is American bar food with some German inspired items, but execution on food not great. We should have noticed from the menu items that it was not authentic, but we were reeled-in by the homemade sausages. This is a great place for those interested in games and beer, not food. Service was good, atmosphere is above average with a nice, beautiful facility, but music and food doesn't do the building justice.

If you want real German food, go elsewhere or to the unassuming Fierabend our favorite.
