Fabulous steak and atmosphere!!
We ate here before a concert and loved the atmosphere and food. We had a slight hiccup with the pork chops but the server took care of it and offered us free dessert which more than made up for it. The bone in ribeye special was perfectly cooked and the lobster mac and cheese side was decadent and delicious. The crab cake appetizer was full of crab and had a great flavor. The ambiance is nice with table clothes and nice stemware set on the table. I'd definitely go back if in the area.
We had a wonderful dinner at Rey’s. There’s absolutely nothing that they need to change
Delicious meal with friends. Not very crowed, although our reservations were early.
Rey always delivers the very best experience!
As always, great service, great food, great ambiance. Pricey if you go all out, but great for a special occasion.
Food was excellent as always. We prefer their whole mushrooms side over the new one that is chopped up with spices. We also prefer the sliced vegetable side over the new one that is chopped. Both taste better when they are whole. Also, the server we had needs more patience when explaining the menu. He interrupts the guest when they ask questions and is not patient when the guest needs more information. He has been this way on more than one occasion when we've been to the restaurant. This is the only server that treats your guests this way. He is an older gentleman that wears glasses.
The crab cake appetizer was delicious. The steaks melt in your mouth. The cheese cake and chocolate raspberry mousse cake is what dreams are made of. Our waiter wasn’t the best. He left us for about 20 minutes before he came back to see if we needed anything. I had to raise my voice as he was walking away to place an order for coffee because he was too quick to leave after our dessert order was placed. Other than that we had a great time. It was our first visit and we were celebrating our wedding anniversary. We may come back but hopefully we won’t get the same waiter.
Phenomenal services and unparalleled cuisine. One would be hard pressed to find a better dining experience than to have the Maestro himself, Rey prepare Bananas Foster personally for you at your table. Love you Rey!!
Been going to Rey's for years now and I have never been disappointed. All of the servers are great and Rey always stops by to see how things are going. If you are looking for excellent quality and a good night out, go to Rey's.
Everything about this place was outstanding! The service we received from the beginning did not go unnoticed! The bartender that served us in the Voodoo lounge was so energetic and lively! He definitely lit up the restaurant with his personality. The food was even better! I enjoyed everything on my plate not to mention the DELICIOUS Pineapple upside down cake martini! Definitely recommend. The next time I will go out on the patio!
We've always been impressed with Rey's and have considered it our "go-to" place for our special occasions. However this time when we entered the first set of doors, a smell reminiscent of old burger joints wafted from inside. It could have been because fans were not in service due to the patio preparations, but it made the start of our evening slightly jaded. Otherwise, we were very pleased with our meal and the service.
Rey's always delivers personal exceptional service. The steaks and specialty items a far better than any competitor.
We had an awesome dinner
Rey's is always a treat. Truly exceptional food, good wine list, outstanding service. Expensive but worth it for special occasions. I've never been even slightly disappointed.
3rd time at Rey's. Food is always good. However, this time my steak was overcooked. I did not send it back as I was hungry and did not want to be "that person." I am sure it will be better next time.
One of the best restaurants in the Research Triangle area. A great steak restaurant with othe good options.
First time here but had heard good things from friends. Service was top notch as well as the food. Grouper topped with crab, Scottish salmon and 10 oz fillet were all outstanding. Turtle soup starter was excellent and very reminiscent ofNew Orlean best.
Finished with bananas foster. Prepared table side for that old school flair.
We came back to Rey's for restaurant week. Excellent choices on the limited menu. We had the filet, done exactly to taste. Wine complimented perfectly. The crème brule dessert was the best we ever had.
We eat at Reys about 1-2 times a month. Service and food is always fantastic. Highly recommend for any occassion.
good food at a really reasonable price. good service.
Dinner started really well with carpaccio. The Ahi tuna was okay. It happened to be restaurant week, so I tried the special menu and got the filet. First it was undercooked, then over cooked. Husband wasn’t thrilled with the rack of lamb. Mashed potatoes were really good. Then we were forgotten. Sat there thirty minutes-no plates or drinks-waiting for dessert when we ordered the dessert at the same time as our meals. The bananas foster was prepared tableside and was delicious. Recommend the carpaccio and bananas foster, but for the $200 tab, probably won’t go back. (And that was with the $35 restaurant week special.)
Food was great, hot and excellent as always. Service received this night did not meet expectations set on prior visits.
My husband and I go out for dinner when we are in town about once a week. We absolutely enjoyed our meal. We decided to go to Rey’s during restaurant week. They serve the best filet mignon along with the garlic mashed potatoes, Caesar salad and mushrooms. The meal portions were perfect and the creme brûlée was the perfect finish.
The staff were all extremely professional and courteous. They all were walking around with purpose and made sure finished dishes were immediately cleared, the different courses were brought out appropriately with great timing between them. Our water glasses were never empty. We also enjoyed our before dinner martinis.
We will be returning to Rey’s more frequently. The presence of Rey himself made all the difference as he personally checked every table and knew quite a few of the people there.
We look forward to returning to Rey’s.

Delicious meal and our service was excellent.
Celebrating a great year of school with my son's. Previously it was always Ruth's but after the personal touch of Rey's we agreed that Rey's was superior. Jim is a fantastic waiter.
We dine here often. Saturday arrived for at 6:30 PM reservation made through Open Table, as I always do, and were told that it would be about 1/2 hour before we could be seated. I explained that I had a reservation, and would understand a 10 minute wait because previous diners might be staying a little long, but that 30 minutes could not be right. Hostesses said, oh no, we have all these others here (gesturing to several people sitting in the lobby) who have reservations too. It's a 30 minute wait. She proceeded to tell me that there were some big parties in the private rooms, and that all tables were full. After unsuccessfully trying to explain the LOGIC of my position, I asked if we could eat in the bar and she said of course, at any table. So, why would she not suggest this? And what's the deal with the non-reservation? Anyway, dinner was delicious -- I highly recommend the Grouper -- and our server was quite good. The live music in the bar is much too loud to allow for pleasant dinner conversation, unfortunately, so the 4 of us shouted to each other over our dinners. And we were at the opposite end of the room from the combo! As I said to begin, we dine here often -- obviously we like the food! But the reservation snafu and overload music made the evening disappointing.
Rey's is our favorite "special occasion" spot in the Raleigh area. Both the food and the service are top-notch. And, the Bananas Foster is simply "the best"! Here's a picture of Rey cooking it...
We celebrated our anniversary at Rey's. As always, food, service and atmosphere was wonderful.
Excellent food. Excellent service!!
Service and food flawless
Franklin offered great service and recommendations. Thanks
Four of us had steaks. Two were good, not great, and one was overcooked and one was just not much taste. Potatoes au gratin were ok and string beans were ordinary. The lobster appetizer was very good to three and dry to one. Very expensive appetizer at $30. The highlight of the meal was bananas foster desert. We had one bottle of wine and two glasses. With the bottle of wine that couple dinner was $240. Pretty expensive for an ordinary steak.
Everything was outstanding. Took my wife for her birthday. Couldn't have made a better choice. The drinks were perfect, the calamari was presented like we had never seen and it was great, and the entrees and sides were prepared just right. Rey prepared the bananas foster personally and professionally and it was the highlight for my wife.
It was raining when we left and Rey met us at the door with an umbrella and assisted with a dry exit. Really an enjoyable night and dining experience!
Birthday dinner celebration, steak and seafood were excellent as always!
My wife and I went to Rey's Saturday night. The place was slamed. We we're concerned about how crowed it was, but we got a table waiting only 15 minutes from our original time. Nothing to be concerned with, service was impeccable and the food was great as usual.
Food was fantastic as well as our service
Jim Nowacki was an outstanding server who was very knowledgeable about the menu. Highly recommend Rey's for any occasion!
Quality food and quality atmosphere continues to prevail!
Food wonderful, service impeccable. Frederick is a fantastic staff member who truly understands the meaning of understated but superb customer service. My only suggestion would be for Rey to implement a dress code - even our 16 yo son commented that flip flops and ratty T-shirt’s in the dining room were a bit off putting.
My birthday celebration dinner. I was a little disappointed with the lobster tails. I've had them there before and they have always been great. This time around, one of the tails was mushy. It was not the quality entree I had become accustomed to and looked forward to. In retrospect, I should have sent them back. The service was ok. Overall, it was not one of my best dining experiences at Rey's.
