Rey's Ratings and Reviews
I have absolutely no complaints about anything. It was my first visit & I was very impressed. There were 4 of us at the table & one of the ladies had to leave on an emergency. Even though they had already brought her food to the table they offered to take it off the bill. It was my birthday. They offered me a free dessert from their menu of my choosing. The food was excellent & beautifully presented. The atmosphere & decor of the restaurant was upscale & very nice. All of the wait staff were very pleasant & could describe any food item on the menu. I would definite go back for another special occasion & recommend my friends & family.
My husband and I celebrated our 29th Wedding Anniversary. It was a memorable evening. Our waiter Jim was very nice and helpful to us. I am Gluten Free and Jim made sure my order was safe for me to eat. We really enjoyed our first experience there and will definitely be back!
Rey's is an excellent choice for fine food and fine dining. The service was excellent and the atmosphere was elegant yet relaxed. Great for a romantic dinner with your special someone or great for a group. Truly one of the best restaurants in the area. Well done Rey.
If you are seeking fine dining experience to celebrate a special occasion, Rey's is the place to go! They've mastered the art of great customer service, captivating their customers through exceptional courtesy, service and fine tasting food. It was an experience to remember! Rey's is a hidden gem, and we look forward to our return!
Dined at Rey's multiple times and each time has been exceptional. The service is always the best. Jim waited on us for New Year's Eve and the service was impeccable. He is the epitome of a knowledgable ambassador for Rey's with a great knowledge of wine, the menu and other libations. He allowed the dinner flow at our speed and we couldn't have been happier. Hats off to Jim and the restaurant. The steaks, seafood, drinks and dessert were all outstanding as was the props handed out for New Years. Can't say enough good things about the evening.
Celebrated New Year's Eve which is also my husband's birthday, at Rey's. We had not been there before but after looking at their menu on-line, was impressed with the choices available. We had a wonderful dining experience and evening. We had reservation and was seated promptly. There was a reduced menu available because it was NYE but our waitress made it clear that if we had any special requests, they would accommodate. My husband and I had a great dinner which included appetizers, surf and turf, and our favorite dessert, cherries jubilee (made by Rey). Our waitress, Carolyn, was fantastic. From cocktails through each dinner course, food was excellent and service was pleasant and attentive. We will certainly go back to Rey's.
We were a party of 8 on New Years Eve. I was concerned about the noise level, would the kitchen be overwhelmed, would service be up to par. My concerns were merely wasted energy. We easily carried on conversations, the food arrived in a very timely manner and was perfect temperature, but the highlight of the evening was the service. It was impeccable. Kelly was our main server and David was our beverage server. If any of us had a question, a special request, or a substitution Kelly would answer ABSOLUTELY without hesitation. Better than that, it wasn’t just an offhanded answer. She came through every time. David was there to keep us quenched and bar orders filled. Rey himself stopped by the table several times during the course of the night to make sure we were content and pleased. Overall it was fabulous but service was probably one of the best I’ve experienced.
We visited Rey's for the first time on New Years eve. We were somewhat disappointed to find a special menu and not what we saw on line. However, almost everything we thought we would like was included on the special menu. The steak was one of the best I ever had and since we all had steak all were in agreement. One of our sides was the sauteed mushrooms that could have been cooked a little longer. I think Ruth Crist uses a little sherry in their saute but they were ok. We were disappointed with the coffee. Seeing it brewed in a French press I was sure it would be strong and full bodied. It was neither. Overall we enjoyed our dinner and the service was great. We will return when a holiday is not involved.
My wife and I went (first time) this past Saturday night to celebrate our 31st anniversary. We were a little early for our reservation, but were seated immediately. Had a friendly, knowledgeable waitress who made good suggestions on food and wine. The stars of the meal were the steaks - both of us had the fillet, which were delicious and soft enough to cut with a butter knife. Sides were good, and the chocolate raspberry cake was wonderful. The only thing that made it less than a 5 star review was that when we made the on-line reservation, we noted that it was for our anniversary, yet no mention or recognition of that was made by anyone.
I would give my experience a solid “okay.” For this visit, the food was not stellar and the waiter was not overly attentive. Friendly, but not attentive. It was Christmas Eve so I think that maybe the staff was overwhelmed at the number of people in the restaurant.
If this had been my first visit to Rey’s, I would not recommend it. However, I have been there numerous times in the past and have always had good food and service. I think my family and I just caught them on a bad night.
Our Christmas Eve dinner was fantastic. The food was perfectly prepared. Our server, Jim, was knowledgeable and attentive. I'd give Jim a 10 out of 10. We had a delightful table next to a Christmas tree in a corner for just us. Loved the entire experience. We're definitely coming back!
This was my first time at Rey's. I guess I expected more from them, considering the prices for the food.
Also, I would, as a waiter, look at the food I was bringing to the table. I had a salad with tomatoes that were unripe (even for out of season you can get tomatoes that are still delicious).
Overall, the meal was good, service was very nice....he still has to polish up his personality for me to just give an automatic 20% tip...that isn't a given.
One suggestion, through in a salad with the steak....at those prices you can afford it and you will get more customers coming back !
We went to this restaurant because of the New Orleans inspired cuisine and the Voo Doo Lounge which offers live music on Saturday nights. The food was less than desirable, I had the pork chops which had too much wine for my taste. My partner had the veal which also was smothered with wine but he ate it. I did not eat mine but did not send it back. The waiter did offer me a free dessert for my displeasure. As far as the entertainment, there was a woman picking a guitar in a small room they call the Voo Doo Lounge. The music does not go with the New Orlean's theme they are trying to portray. I was looking for Jazz music which is a staple for New Orleans. The best entertaining of the evening was Rey himself that cooked a fried banana dish once again with wine over an open flame near our table. This was completely not what we expected and we do not have any thing good to say about this place. Also the building appears to have been converted from a bank. It looks like some of the teller windows may have been preserved. Not worth our drive or money and that is stating it mildly.
Rey's is one of our favorites. They never disappoint. What impressed me the most on my last visit was the staff. Even though it was a holiday crowd, we were never kept waiting, from being seated promptly, getting water immediately, being greeted by the friendly wait staff, drinks and food delivered on time and at it's best to getting the bill. Everything ran like clockwork. I love this place!
