Revolucion Steakhouse Ratings and Reviews
We checked out Revolucion for a last-minute Saturday brunch and we loved it! A little crowded on the second floor where we sat, but the food was great, waitstaff was very attentive, and the ambiance was fun. Definitely try the Huarache de Cecina. It was delicious!
Made reservations for 8:15 but our schedule changed and we arrive earlier, planning to wait in the bar if necessary. Instead, they accommodated our change easily and graciously, seating us much closer to 7:00. Lovely interior, delicious food, and the service was attentive without being hovering. Will definitely return.
Dinner was great! I had the toasted coconut margarita (which was the special that night) and it was excellent! I have been craving it ever since. Joe was our waiter and he was very attentive. Would definitely go back and also recommend anyone to check it out
This restaurant is one of our go to places in the neighborhood. We are usually very satisfied. But at this visit left us disappointed. Mostly it was about the timing. A good half hour until the drinks arrived it was an hour till we had a salad and an hour and 20 minutes until we had our food. Even though it was a lovely evening outside. That is way too long to wait. Our waiter seemed to not to notice the delay and offered no explanation. When we asked where our drinks were in when they would be ready he replied "as soon as the bartender makes them". The food was as always good and well prepared. I hope this was just an off night. We will go back.
Loved this restaurant! The food ,cocktails and service were excellent! Had the tortilla soup and it has a nice thick broth with some spice. Guac and chips were tasty. The chips were light and crisp. Tried the watermelon margarita and one of their special drinks which came in a ceramic cup. Both were yummy! We had the salmon with mango topping which was a generous portion and cooked perfectly, the combo with crab cakes and skirt steak, and chicken fajitas. All were delicious. We were too full for dessert but they looked delicious.
Had a great dinner with my wife. This Chicago steakhouse is top notch! We both had the filet revolucion and each bite was very tender and delicious. Cooked perfectly medium rare. They have good local craft beers and a good margarita sangria Thursday night special that my wife enjoyed. The lava cake is a bomb dessert. Overall the food is high quality and reasonably affordable. Highly recommend Revolucion Mexican Steakhouse!
I had a lovely experience with my girlfriends. Everything was delicious from the guacamole, to the steak tacos, to the filet mignon prepared Oscar style. I will be coming back. And the five dollar Sangrias were marvelous! We sat in the colorful bar area and had a blast!
This was our 3rd time eating at The Revolucion. There is a wide variety on the menu but each time we have tried different entrees and were disappointed. Even having the chips and guacamole each time, the preparation was different and not as appealing. Good waitstaff, attentive and enjoy the outside seating but will not be back for awhile.
It's always a pleasure to eat at Revolucion. We live nearby and don't think of it as moderate in cost because we tend to eat steak when we go there. However, with business associates, we branched to other options and found them OUTSTANDING and well priced. The portions and the accompaniments make steak dinners more than adequate if one wants to split and and add in a smaller, less expensive option, too.
I ordered the short ribs which were overdone and tough - you could barely cut it with a knife when something like this should be tender and pull apart with a fork. The au gratin potatoes had no flavor and were cheesy mush. The filet/steaks are the best thing on the menu - cooked correctly and tender. The margaritas were like drinking orange juice - not good. Our server was very good and the meal was not a reflection on her.
Excellent food at a good price with very friendly service. Steaks were all great as were the apps. Just a couple miscues in the execution of the service that keeps it from 5 stars. (My wife and I had our meals for a couple minutes before the rest of the party had theirs, a slow wine refill here or there, nothing major). I will absolutely go back.
We went for their Brunch that they have on Saturdays and Sundays from 10am-2pm in which you get an entree and bottomless mimosas for up to two hours. Overall the food was great and our server was attentive as well. However with 15 minutes left of our brunch and bottomless mimosas the manager rudely kicked us out of our table because they had to flip the table. With this being said there were several other tables around us that had been there way longer then we had and none of them had to move in order to seat other parties waiting. This was all very frustrating because we understood the 2 hour mimosa rule and our waiter poured us one more while we were waiting for our check to get figured out. However I became very uncomfortable while trying to finish my last mimosa because there was at least 3 or 4 staff members circling our table making it very difficult for my friends and me to finish our conversation. We were paying customers and the fact that they kicked us out is ridiculous when there were plenty of other people that had gone past their 2 hour table limit. The manager should also learn the proper etiquette when telling paying guests to leave. He was very rude and did not even politely ask us to leave he said that we had been there too long and it was time to go. We were not even being obnoxious or anything compared to the other tables next to us we could barely hear ourselves think.
