Carnal focuses on the bold flavors of wood fire and caramelization balanced with acidic, raw, and seasonal elements. We are a passionate group of cooks who do not cut corners and hope that is evident when you try our food. Our signature dish is a bone-in beef rib that is sous-vide before grilling over an open wood fire and finished with rendered bone-marrow. We source many of our ingredients from local farms and fisheries.

    I took my family here for my wife's birthday. It did not disappoint! Seven of us order many different plates. The combinations in each dish was a refreshing change for the palate. Both chicken dishes offered a comfy and very present taste. The pasta dishes left you looking for more! The skirt steak was simply amazing. Drinks were good. Waitress was great and helpful. I have been 4 times now and it has always been amazing. One, little thing. Bring back the broccolini!

    Every dish we ordered was fantastic! The presentation was top notch and the food was cooked to utter perfection. The cost of the meal was a little higher than we normally spend, but it was well worth it for the DELICIOUS flavors we encountered.

    Sam was great! The artwork was spectacular. The place was very good & the food superb. Interesting, being a few hundred miles from the Willamette Valley, they were serving Pinot Noir from France! It was excellent, too.

    What a night. Absolutely amazing. We appreciated each explanation about the cocktails as well as the food courses. Everything tasted great. It was fun to watch the patrons get excited but it was even better to see the staff taking photos and enjoying the moment. From the Pork Shoulder Terrine to the burnt Honey Tart…what a culinary journey! I look forward to next time!

    The food is very good. However, this experience felt like a limited menu. Service was exuberant, but slow. Noise level is very loud. We are not from Bellingham, but we enjoy this restaurant enough, that we make a reservation when we come into town.

    By far the best dining experience! My husband & I have come here twice and loved every minute of it both times. I love that they have such a great selection of N/A beverages as well as cocktails & wine. Their food flavors are outstanding and super creative! Nothing was on the menu that we didn’t want to order. We had the steak and then pesto pasta both dishes were incredible. Steak cooked to perfection and then pesto sauces on both dishes were top notch. We don’t live in Bellingham but every time we visit I always want to come here.
