Club Arcada 1920s Speakeasy
The Speakeasy offers excellent food in a fun setting. We especially appreciated them working with us to delay our reservations after there was a change in the time of the show we saw at the Arcada. Friendly service. Informed servers. The best filet I've ever had. We highly recommend!
The decor is very nice, the prices are quite reasonable. The themed staff was courteous and efficient. The food was as good as any other Italian restaurant, which pleasantly surprised me. It is a great place for a pre or post-concert eaterie. Also, a very different place for a datenight restaurant. The 20's and 30's theme is nowdays a very rare delight. Murals are fantastic, and adds to the vibe of the main dining room.
This is the second time we've visited the Club Arcada Speakeasy and it won't be the last. This place is fantastic. It's a little pricier than I'd normally pay but the food is outstanding and the ambiance is wonderful...so I'll pay a little more than usual for that. Have to give props to the great staff as well; always friendly and, despite being a bit overwhelmed on this night, were pleasant and did a great job.
This place is a perfect way to start your night if you have tickets to an event at the Arcada Theater downstairs.
Fun atmosphere! Great food and drinks. Affordable priced specials. Staff was friendly. Really enjoyed our visit.
We had a blast. It was a fun night with good food and entertainment.
Good first experience. Send me a coupon and I will return. We did have trouble (minor) with the waitress bringing out the wrong wine. We caught it before she opened the bottle, but charged me for the wrong wine on my final bill. Had to wait to get it corrected, aprox 10 minutes...
This is second time we have eaten here before shows. Food very good and fairly priced.
Great service, memorable venue with great charm and personality!!
One of my favorite places for entertainment, gatherings and great food! A diamond! St. Charles is lucky to have the Arcada/ Speak easy.
I really like this place for the entertainment, and the Sunday Italian dinner is a good value. Drink prices can be a bit high, as well as the regular menu food. Not terrible, just high. We do keep coming back.
Thee server had to many people. She rarely came to us. The meal was delicious but the drinks we too high priced and small.
Great atmosphere, good food, and excellent cocktail menu all in a classic themed club. Great and friendly service too. Perfect spot for before concert meal and drinks and a great place for a Post-Concert drink.
Great atmosphere but service was poor despite it being a slow night!
Used to have a dress code when they first opened, which was great. Looks like that has since go by the wayside. Letting idiots in with hoodies and sweatpants. Keep it classy !
Exceptional every time! Ron Onesti, and his courteous, attentive, and thoughtful staff make it a WONDERFUL experience. Sophisticated, Mad Men, cocktails with a filet on the menu that everyone swears is the best in all the suburbs AND city. Small menu but fabulous selections with something for everyone. PLEASE RON, do not shorten the libations list! Our friends LOVE the cocktail list and how things are to date! Just an amazing entertainment venue. ~Mark and Lisa Bissonette
We were greeted outside by an antique neon marquee sign. Inside, rock music was roaring from the theater on the first floor. We were then guided to a nondescript elevator in a corner that took us to the third floor. We exited about into a quiet study with two ladies in flapper dresses who stood by a single podium. At that point we were quizzed about the password to gain entry. After successfully repeating the password, a secret panel opens in the bookcase, revealing a hallway that led to the speakeasy beyond. The din of dining and revelry instantly hits our eardrums!
Inside, there were separate lounges that flanked the large dining chamber, with s stage to one side. The decorations were true to the 1920s, with a few touch lamps, even oil lamps dotting the bistro tables here snd there. A TV screen was showing a Charlie Chaplin silent movie. People were dressed in many ways; 1920s garb, Star Wars costumes, pirate outfits. It was all very colorful and lively! Looked like most dress types are welcomed, save for sweats and sneakers.
The food was savory and simple; we only ordered an appetizer tray that had meats and cheese, but yummy! Prices were nominal, but the drinks list, though, is where the bread is made. You could easily amass a hefty tab ordering rounds of libations for you and yours!
The entertainment that night was a quartet of guys singing Motown songs. They were great! Folks danced to their music, ate, drank, partied. The atmosphere was effervescent and vital. We loved it!
First time! very glad I went. the music was very energetic.
Not a big menu but very satisfying. Big selection of drinks.
All around great tie
It was nice interesting and worth checking out ...... one thing that put me little off was the table we got for two big guys we were put in a small table in walk way so we were constantly bothered with ppl passing by while the whole restaurant was well de open with amazing booths and free sitting places available all around instead we were sitting in a floor table in a walkway setting...... quite a buzz kill .... other then that place is great
Fun. Unique night out. Menu was perfectly suited to the venue. Interesting cocktails. Friendly, courteous staff.
We went to Club Arcada for a Jazz concert and dressed up for the occasion. I had a great time there. The atmosphere was incredible and took me back to the past. Loved the area, the decor, the drinks and service. The food was limited and it was little too pricey on the drinks that ran my tab up. Regardless, had a fantastic time and would highly recommend for a night cap or appetizers or eat before you go.
Took my girlfriend on a date to Club Arcada for dinner and a live show. We were not disappointed! On top of the fantastic performance by Davina & the Vagabonds, this 1920s-style speakeasy was amazing. Good food, friendly service, great ambiance. The wait staff was dressed in full 1920s garb, guys in suits and girls as flappers. The secret entrance that required a password was a great beginning to an evening of enjoyment. HIGHLY recommend spending an evening at Club Arcada!
GREAT place for a GREAT atmosphere!!! Came with the kids for the magic show on a Wednesday and the Talent, Food, Ambiance and Service was all top notch.
Went to the SpeakEasy to celebrate my mom's birthday and dinner before the Paul Anka show. Awesome service, each server was polite, kind and our food was delivered in a timely manner...and it was delicious! We will be back! Great atmosphere!
Fun first time experience. Paul Anka show was perfect.
I had the menu item billed as Ron's Family Feast. The Penne was not al dente. It was soggy and totally buried in the "gravy." The meat balls were tasteless. The supposed garlic bread had no garlic. Overall it was overpriced and unappetizing.
Brings back memories and also serves as a history lesson. "The way it was"
Mr. Onesti brings in the best of talent shows.
The Speakeasy was the most crowded I’ve experienced in the many times I’ve dined there. In spite of that, the service was great plus Ron’s Italian dinner (usually a Sunday special) was on the menu. You can’t go wrong if you dine at The Speakeasy at The Club Arcada
Loved it! The Italian Feast was delicious. Came before Paul Anka concert. Will definitely visit again.
Great place to eat...very convenient as we attended a concert at the Arcada Theater after we ate. Only had to park once. Would definitely eat there again.
We were not told in advance we would be seated with strangers and even though we had a very nice time with our “seat mates” it would have been nice to know that in advance.
Also the service was quite slow...our server seemed to be moving pretty fast but I think maybe all of the servers had too many tables to take care of for the night....maybe have a few more people working.
Great!!! We enjoyed the food and atmosphere! It was a perfect dinner before a perfect Show!!! We saw Paul Anka that night!
Saw the 3 Stooges show, Sunday afternoon. It was hilarious!! Just like having the original Stooges on stage!! Went upstairs for a GREAT Italian dinner! The homemade stuffed ravioli, & meatballs, & sausage with meat sauce, was excellent! Topping the dinner off with mini canolis, which were delicious too! The salad could have used more dressing. I am looking forward to our next visit! The service was very good. Everyone was very polite, thanks for a great night!
Great Sunday dinner bargain including entertainment!
Restaurant had bery limited food menu and a huuge drink menu. It really does have thr feel of a ‘20s speakeazy. It is a little loud but it’s ok. The food is very good annd will fill you up. We brought a doggy bag home. Wr were seeing s show afterwards and it wad convenient to just go down two floors to the theater. Wr will be back.
The service was sub par. Wait staff would run you over if in their way. Drinks were always empty and plates remained on our table for an hour after we finished eating. Had to ask that they be removed. The venue is fun, hope they can work out the poor service.
The temperature of the restaurant was way TOO cold!
So fun! Good food, good music, amazing ambiance!
Food was great as usual. Service was great with Joel. Show with Shirley King was so so... she sang a total of three songs over a 3 hour period.
Loved the entire 20's theme! From the decor to the music, the food and the service, it was all outstanding. Our server, Ashely, was personable and very helpful in choosing drinks from the broad menu. All ingredients are made in-house and it tastes that way. The sliders and flatbreads were delicious. The overall ambiance was spectacular. Although we only stayed for dinner because we were seeing a band downstairs, we will definitely be returning to have dinner and see a show upstairs. We had a great time!
As Italian Buffets go, this one was very good.
Operatic Venue was outstanding.
The overall ambiance is unequaled any where close by.
Service was left something to be desired - but more an individual server issue,- did not appear to be the norm.
A great place - Keep it going!
