   Once regarded as a lively and reliable spot for elevated Spanish fare, The Bazaar Tapas Bar has in the past impressed with its creative interpretations and vibrant small plates. However, my most recent visit fell well short of expectations — a stark contrast to prior experiences. The evening took a turn with the arrival of the seafood paella, traditionally a hallmark of Spanish coastal cuisine and, historically, a strength of the restaurant’s kitchen. This time, however, the mussels were unmistakably off. The unpleasant odor was immediate and unmistakable, casting a shadow over the dish and raising clear food safety concerns. When we brought this to the attention of our server, the plate was taken back to the kitchen without resistance. Disappointingly, we were later informed that the kitchen insisted the mussels were “fresh.” No replacement was offered, nor was there an acknowledgment that the dish might have fallen below acceptable quality. While service was generally attentive, the lack of accountability and dismissal of legitimate guest concern undermined the dining experience. For a restaurant with a once-stellar reputation, this kind of oversight — and the failure to address it with professionalism — leaves a lasting impression, and not a good one. Dining out is as much about trust as it is about taste. Unfortunately, this visit to The Bazaar Tapas Bar left me questioning both.

   Was a good experience however the food was okay could have been better cooked but we had a nice time overall

   Went for mother's day brunch. Food was as good as ever. Lobster caviar eggs beni was amazing.

   The best paella in NYC and that I’ve personally ever had. I had not tasted such amazing paella since I visited Mallorca, and this may have taken first place. We enjoyed every bite of the paella del mar. The service was excellent. They were accommodating and put the chorizo on the side as we requested. The margarita and passionfruit martini were outstanding. This was my second visit and I can’t wait to go back!

   Our server was very good. Attentive and knowledgeable. Drinks were delicious if a little pricey. It was dark any noisy in the area where we were sat. Food very good and plentiful.

   We didn't eat, but the review doesn't allow that, so we cannot comment on the food. The ambiance was really unpleasant. We spend 180 days a year in Spain, and we have never been in a place with such awful music, played far too loud. Tables were much too close together. There was no relaxed Spanish vibe. The wine list was put together by someone who knows nothing about Spanish wine. The person who served us was pleasant, but if you want to experience anything remotely like Sapin, this is not the place for you.
