   Last night's dinner was our second time there and we were not disappointed. Everything was perfect, from the service, the beautiful environment, and the food and drinks. The price point is very high but the value is higher. This is the place where you want to go to celebrate something special. I highly recommend.

   Th wait staff was exceptional. All the support servers were informative and timely. The chefs choice for hors d’oeuvres was amazing. How avacado, Tina and something called watermelon air all work together was pretty amazing. Nothing was missing and each course was done well and delivered with just the right timing.

    This is the premier fine dining experience in Taneytown. The food, service and wine pairing was top notch. It’s in a beautiful historic setting. The perfect place for a high end special celebration. We enjoyed a six course meal with complete wine paring. Portions and timing between them allowed us to complete our meal enjoying each course, each other’s company, the setting, and attentive service, without being overly full at the end. A truly great experience.

    Beautifully decorated for the holidays, seated next to the fireplace! Overall an excellent evening, but for the $$$$, it didn’t seem quite worth it. Our three appetizers, which we enjoyed only one each of, were a small tomato caprice skewer, delicious stuffed mushroom, and a piece of cantelope. (Really, a square slice of cantelope!) Service was excellent, a little slow with removing used dishes. After several courses we sat with our empty plates for longer than we should have. My vegetarian entree was three pieces of squash with risotto. I was told it would be veggie pasta. The squash was good, but again, didn’t seem to be worth the $$$$. We enjoyed ourselves and the decorations were gorgeous.

    This is the perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. The food is excellent and the wait staff are exceptional. Each room was exquisitely decorated for the holidays. It was the loveliest place to celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary.

    We dined at the Smokehouse for out anniversary and it was wonderful experience from beginning to end. Our table was set with a personalized menu congratulating us on our occasion. We were presented with a delicious trio of small bites while we made our selections for our meal and glasses of champagne when we selected the wine pairing. A delicious steak tartar amuse buche arrived while we awaited our first course. Every course was superb. We had the braised bison and rockfish for our entrees and both were melt in your mouth delicious. The atmosphere got a bit loud as our evening progressed as other diners enjoyed their meals. One of us is sensitive to noise so it detracted a bit but by our dessert course it was quieter and we left on a positive note with truffles to go and our souvenir menus. While the experience is expensive it is worth it for a special occasion.

    Top notch! Fabulous food, drink and service. Value priced. Incredible antiques. Stately houses and gorgeous grounds. Quaint pub inside the mansion. A perfect place for a wedding... all the family and guests could stay on the grounds, beautiful rooms in the surrounding houses, carriage house etc, something like 40 rooms. Pool, tennis court, volleyball, croquet court, reception hall...what more could you want? Wonderful stay. Very quiet. Restful. A++

    We thoroughly enjoyed our anniversary dinner at The Antrim! We have gone there many times over the years. This visit was just a notch below what we have come to expect. The food was good, but not as spectacular as in the past. Some of it felt commercially made, not freshly made, e.g. the appetizers and the mushroom sauce. And the restaurant's decor needs some freshening up--the ficus trees in the corners are very dated and out of place! And for some reason, the large dining room wasn't utilized on the night we visited, and the restaurant felt very overcrowded. Now on to the positive portion of the review: Our server Jordan was excellent and very attentive. Our mixed drinks and wine were delicious. The piano player was a delight as always! The multi course dinner is such a good value, and I love not having to travel to Baltimore or DC for a fine dining experience.

    We really enjoyed dinner here last night. It is very high in ambience and atmosphere, well laid out and served by a professional crew of engaging servers. The food is excellent, and the variety is original and always superb. We had the accompanying wine flights and the choices were exemplary. Imagine a smooth Assirtyko with a scrumptious bibb lettuce salad and a stunning cab with filet of beef. The swordfish looked great, but we were on a meat kick. I had braised bison unfortunately. It was the one down experience of the evening served in a glob of heavy gravy also over- salted. I chose it. there were many tasty alternatives so do not be put off but beware. Desserts are superb and everything is served appropriately sized plates. Oh yes, appetizers are fine and before they are served Smokehouse served two rounds of amuses, each delicious and different. We love this place and have eaten here months ago. It is consistently excellent and worth the trip to Antrim 1844.
