The Colden Mill Restaurant
We were seated at the front window and able to view the early evening Fall scenery. The food was delicious with very eye- pleasing presentations. Our waitress, Brittany, made the experience even more enjoyable with her sweet personality while taking care of anything we needed. This is definetely a return dining choice for us in the future.
Friendly staff, great ambiance
Cocktails, appetizers, main course excellent!!
The Colden Mill is one of our favorite places to celebrate special times. We love everything about it!
As always an exceptional meal. Have been there multiple times and have tried pretty much the whole menu. Have never been disappointed. Atmosphere and food is just outstanding. We are very picky about food and have never had an issue, great presentation of the food. Just love the place, recommend it to all.
Our first trip out to Colden on a warm late summer evening. We sat on the patio among the trees. Excellent service, very good appetizers, and my wife enjoyed the buttermilk chicken. The trout was a little on the dry side, but overall the meal was fine and definitely a good value. We will make the drive out again soon.
Very cute place. The service was a little slow but the food was fantastic.
The portion size was more than I could eat.
It was a 45 minute drive for us so I'm not sure I'd go back unless I was
in the neighborhood. Loved the décor!
For starters, the hostess was anything but hospitable, feigning little interest (if any) in our arrival. We were seated outside, and for 20 minutes promptly IGNORED. ALL of the other tables were being served - one adjacent to us cleaned TWICE by the server without ANY acknowledgement we even existed. Finally, the "topper": a couple seated 22 minutes after we arrived IMMEDIATELY served and given water, list of specials etc. When we had enough - and finally left - and I confronted the server about the situation - she meekly stated, "sorry, it's the "rotation". Huh? Needless to say, we won't be returning.
This was our first time at Colden Mill. We will definitely be going back. Food, service, and ambiance top notch. Owner came to tables to chat with diners.
Stumbled across this restaurant on Open Table and was so glad I did. While the inside of restaurant is like walking into a history museum, the menu was full of yummy, new dishes. The pesto mashed potatoes, beef medallions, chicken rosemary soup with couscous...delightful. Yummy cocktails. Desserts were only so-so - but the entrees were wonderful!
Took out-of-town family for dinner. They loved it as much as we do. It's our "go-to" place! Fodd was outstanding as always. Be sure to leave room for the apple fritters with home made ice cream!
It's a fast drive from Hamburg to Colden Mills. Hadn't been there in a couple years....but pleasantly surprised that food choices ranged from comfort to traditional....but very well done.
Trout was very good. Also the chicken and tortellini was very good.
We have been here a col times before but not in a year or so. We had a couple specialty cocktails that were good. I had the razz lemonade, it was very sweet. We had the pork belly appetizer, it was ok, not as good as other places I have had it. Might have been in the deep fryer a tiny bit too long. My wife really liked her eddplant parm. I had the buttermilk deep fried cuz breast. The cuz was ok nothing special, the breading fell off like a shell and I noticed that some parts of the breading were much darker that others. The garlic mashed potatoes were very tasty. We will go back but I'm not planning on getting that again. The service was good and we very much like the setting there.
We just returned from wintering in Naples, Florida (which has great restaurants). Colden Mill topped them all. We'll be back A LOT.
Our first time there and it was a very positive experience. Want to go back and sit indoors next time.
My wife’s trout was very good cooked well and sauce was very good. My tuna was cooked perfect and again sauce was very good.
Another very good dinner. I had the citrus tuna which was cooked perfectly. My wife’s strip steak was cooked and seasoned perfectly also. This restaurant is a gem in colden.
We arrived 15 min before our reservation so we went to the bar for a drink before we could be seated. The owner -Chuck-was tending bar and he was funny and very personable. My husband enjoys craft beers and each time he requested another beer, the kegs were empty and honestly Chuck felt bad, however it became humorous for us. We then were seated, and although a little frustrating (40 minutes and tables were open) we also understand staffing issues. We were "forgotten" again and went up to the bar to get another glass of wine and a beer. The wait staff and owner were very apologetic again. The food!! Well worth the wait!! Everything was delicious, hot and tasty. We were very well taken care of despite the hiccups in seating and ordering. We love it here and we will be back!
Outstanding service and food
Colden Mill is our go-to for date night. Never have to worry about a bad meal. Dinner is always outstanding. And be sure to leave room for the apple fritters and home made ice cream!
Saturday evening dinner reservations. Waited at the bar for a few minutes while our table upstairs was readied. Spouse had mushroom puffed pastry appetizer that was “amazing.” I had goat cheese croquettes that were equally as good. Spouse had duck breast that was perfectly cooked. I had scallop diner special. Dessert was brownie bread pudding with chocolate ice cream. Food & service excellent.
We were there for Valentines day dinner, they had a special menu for the occasion. We both had a crab topped filet that was wonderful. The dessert was even better.
This place is a hidden gem! It's beautiful and comfy inside and the food was wonderful. I think their menu is great with plenty of fancy choices and plenty of comfort food options. We were seated immediately, but there is a very nice bar if you need to have a drink before being seated.
Fabulous meal as always!
I had the cod special which was delicious. My wife's salmon was excellent.
We had an incredible New Year's Eve/birthday dinner! I took my husband to celebrate his birthday. This was our first time dining at the Colden Mill. It definitely won't be our last! The ambience is incredible. It's so cozy in the restaurant. Just beautiful! The menu had so many great choices that it was hard to decide what to order. Neither of us were disappointed with our choices. The food was out of this world and the service was perfect. Can't wait to return!
Just love the COLDen Mill! Great food and quaint charm. We had fabulous food, including salmon, steak, fish fry, soup.
Nice, friendly efficient service!
Our first time and it was very nice. The restaurant had two large parties and the server apologized up front that the kitchen might be slow. We didn't experience any slowness in the service at all. The food was very good. It's a short drive from Orchard Park and we'll definitely be back.
We dined at the Colden Mill on a snowy Saturday with a party of 8 . We sat up in the Loft area which was nice and quiet and overlooked the dining area below. the whole restaurant is just amazingly decorated and very warm and cozy feeling. Everyone enjoyed their meals and said we will definitely return in the spring.
Cozy atmosphere - helps that it was snowing lightly. Place was quiet for a Saturday night (we had 7:30 pm res) yet they were out of several menu items (calamari & pork belly) so that was disappointing. Food was good overall, not great, but in all fairness we are fussy foodies. Wine list was nice. Would go back again.
We enjoyed the meal very much and our server was great. We were a bit disappointed in how slow food came out.
My pasta dish was delicious. My wife's strip steak was excellent. I highly recommend Colden Mill.
We were pleasantly surprised, after not dining at the Colden Mill for several years. It is refreshingly quiet! What a joy. Our dinners were excellent and we definitely return.
We were pleasantly surprised at the level of quality and taste of the food. It is high end home cooked comfort food with a trained chef's touch.
My wife and I both had one of the specials. My wife's filet was outstanding and very reasonably priced.
First time at Colden Mill. Only issue is first choice entree for myself & companion were not available & were not advised of until we ordered. Food we did have was very good & we will return to try other items on the menu.
A very nice evening sitting outside. Food again was excellent.
My hUsband and I truly enjoyed our 1st experience last Saturday. Food was outstanding! Try the bacon wrapped meatloaf and chicken! Emily our server was as sweet as she was efficient! Great wine list. Eat outside on patio overlooking the creek. Can't wait to return!
We continue to be amazed at the quality of the food. We now frequent on a regular basis and are always completely satisfied with the quality of the food. The chef is truly a treasure. You can tell he or she takes pride in his or her presentations. This restaurant is a hidden gem.
