   Food was really great. We initially received some cold fries but the server and manager immediately corrected the issue and gave us hot fries to go with our delicious burger. Normally would give 5 star but we love going for the burger and fries at times and was looking forward to those fries. All and all still great time and delicious food and great customer service from manager and server.

   Brunch was incredible!! The day we went was the NY half marathon, so it was hopping. Thankfully we had made a reservation. My son has a nut allergy and they were very attentive and helpful.

    Loved the brunch, as usual. Unfortunately, like many of the diners in the large group of tables in the front of the restaurant, I was freezing on a 40 degree day due to the constantly opening doors of the restaurant, which meant an almost constant wind coming in. Ordered, ate, and got out as fast as I could. Fortunately, food was up to its usually fine standard. I don't plan coming back until the temperature gets into the mid 60's.

    As usual, food and service were good. However, it was uncomfortably cold (door to the street was almost constantly open. Also, when I dropped a pill on the floor, floor was very dirty. Finally, it was very cluttered in the front tables.

    Food is good but you need to do something with temperature control. It is extremely cold inside! No heating is available! I would not come back!

    Beautiful spacious restaurant. Food was overpriced, definitely not great. Server was inattentive and rushed us to pay the bill so she could leave.

    All I can say is, don’t get the chicken pot pie. Three at my table ordered it, and each serving had chicken skin baked into the pie. We should have returned it for the $90 we paid for it. However, The shrimp and grits I ate earlier that day was very good.

    You can’t make up for poor service. Our server was simply unaware and inattentive. Despite telling him we wanted our shared appetizer before our main meals, they arrived at the same time. Prior to that, we had to ask for basic bread service (delivered to other tables). And finally, the steak (supposedly coming with chimichurri sauce) arrived with ketchup! Mostly, the server seemed clueless that these were issues.

    We had a really good lunch and the host staff was accommodating: we were seated near the door and every time the door opened, a freezing wind blew in, so we asked to move and were quickly moved to a warmer spot. But the moment we sat down, we were rushed through lunch with a server who kept hovering. So no matter how good the food, we didn't enjoy ourselves.

    I used to love this spot and took clients there all the time. The last two times I have went there I have just been really disappointed. You can’t charge $25 for a veggie burger and seat people at a chipped table with poorly cleaned silverware. Chicken mushrooms came with two pieces and was missing the sauce. I ordered an espresso martini and it came with ice chips in it. I then switched to a mezcal based drink called A Wild Horse. Had two and they not only came out in different glasses but were totally different colors. The server was quite wonderful and did a good job trying to navigate the obvious hiccups that were beyond her control. At $250 check I think we just expected more.

    Two drinks, two starters, one main course, two coffees and 20% tip - $134. Service was very good and the front desk staff were great. Hard job with mobs of people asking for a table. The restaurant is VERY loud. Try and get a table away from the front door. When it opens, the cold winter air hits you.

    We had a fabulous brunch before a show. We made the reseveration on line and even though our train was late, The staff was so accommodating about holding our reservation. The food and cocktails were beautifully prepared and arrived quickly, despite the Resturant being very busy. We'll be back next time we visit NYC

    We went to the Smith for Brunch. The food was very good although their mimosas were about 90% champagne. We had to ask for a glass of OJ to add to the drinks. Our server was very helpful and professional. However we will probably never go there again because of the ambience - the noise level was unbearable. We could hardly hear each other sitting right across a table from each other. Even worse was how cold it was. Every time the front door opened, there was a blast of cold wind that entered the room and the area that we sat in. We had to put our coats on and would have probably put on gloves, but it would have made it hard to eat our meal. They really need to do something about this problem. The server told us that they have complained about this but the management doesn't want to do anything about the problem. We've taken The Smith off our list of pre-Opera brunch locations.
