The ambiance and food are very nice. We felt a little rushed by the staff, it also would’ve been nice to know that the Dover soul market price was $82 prior to ordering. It was delicious, but it but when the bill came, we were very surprised.

I’ve only visited Etoile for lunch, but it is consistently delicious. Today we had the SALADE DE HOMARD, which is my favorite. I always order it. My husband had the mushroom and leek bisque which was a special, as well as the tuna tartare. Both were delicious. I ordered the lunch special, a perfectly cooked sea bass. We were there on a Sunday, so he decided to try the omelet. My husband knows how to make a French omelette worthy of Jacques Pepin. This wasn’t that, but it was serviceable. We shared the apple tarte which was delicious. Etoile may be one of the only restaurants in Houston to offer a Châteauneuf-du-Pape by the glass. That earns high marks from me. Their house rosé by the glass is also a great selection. I’ve used the word delicious a lot, but it’s well deserved. The service is also always exemplary.

Etoile is always a good lunch time location for those enjoying a pleasant almost French ambience and food. A relaxing quiet spot for a personal or business lunch. Food is good and reasonably priced. Service is excellent and unhurried but on time.

My husband and I celebrated our 54th wedding anniversary with the 4 course dinner at Etoile. EVERY course was exceptional and delicious! Our waiter was very attentive in spite of the fact that the area he was serving was completely full.

My first time dining at this restaurant. We had Ronnie as our sever. It was Sunday brunch. They had an extensive regular menu, a brunch menu and a pre fixe brunch menu. Food was excellent! Champagne was cold! I’d definitely go back!

Food was pretty good. Ordered the mushroom ravioli and it was definitely delicious. The mussels in cream was just ok, the mussels didn't taste the best and the fries that came with it were a bit on the soggy limp side. The lobster bisque was nice and creamy, good portion. Veggie risotto was a big portion and tasted great - nice to have leftovers to take home. The shrimp starter was a bit on the salty side. Ordered the apple tarte for dessert and it tasted very good. Ambience is beautiful. serene and calming. The noise level was perfect - could have a conversation and not worry about raising my voice to be heard. The service was ok, some of the servers were a bit too attentive during our meal. When we say we need a few minutes to look over the menu, please actually give us time to look at the menu! Overall, the food was good and the restaurant was nice.

Always a pleasure to eat at Etoile, chef Philippe combines some regular dishes that you can always count on with some really original specials that are a absolute treat. Veal cheeks with morels on polenta was my choice, exceptional flavor and a very balanced combination. Some excellent and quite affordable wines to pair with just about any dish. And don't miss the profiteroles! We'll be back.

The salad was great but the sole almandine was very disappointing- the fish was “mushy” and it was hard to tell if it was really sole. The service was very good except that we felt we were being rushed, and the room we were in was extremely noisy as there were only a few tables but half of them had a number of noisy children. We’ve frequented this restaurant and used to consider it one of our favorites, so we were especially disappointed this time around.

Phenomenal food. Unfortunately service was below average. Server seemed impatient and impolite. Once I tried to have more water, saw him standing far away chatting with another server. I had to wait for a long while to try to catch his attention.

Food and service was wonderful and domestic wine fairly priced. Met expectations, although you could tell inflation affected portion sizes. Valet parking had blocked all available slots. Receptionist could have been more welcoming.

My husband enjoys French food. I made reservations here for his birthday. The ambience and food were good. I have multiple food allergies. Even though the menu isn’t labeled for food allergies, the waiter was able to guide me in terms of what is safe to eat. Service was on the slow side. Overall it was an enjoyable evening.
