Food quailty was good. Service was a bit slow, especially as the restaurant was nearly empty. My cocktail was served in a broken glass - not up to the normal standards I've come to expect fron Capital Grille.

I have dined at many Capital Grilles from all over, this was very disappointing to say the least. We were down in DC for a convention and wanted to go out with everyone and have a nice dinner together. The ladies at the hostess table were very nice, but we waited forever for our waiter to start us off. He never mentioned any specials, things they usually start with, started off with just what do you want? Barely came by to check in on us, ordered calamari, that was great, the sides were good as well. My steak was undercooked. I ordered the Kona crusted steak medium, it was cold and raw on the inside, another in my group the gorgonzola steak was over cooked. She asked for medium and it was well done. I had to wait forever to flag down someone so they could finish cooking it and the rest of my party was finished with their meal by the time I could get started. Things were being taken off the table without asking if we were finished with them like we were being rushed out. Another in our group wanted to box up her meal and instead of taking it to the back to box it up like they normally do, boxes were brought out and just put on the table. I am so embarrassed that I recommended this restaurant for a business dinner, some of the ladies I was with, it was their first time and looked forward to a good meal. One said they could have had better service at a Texas Roadhouse than here. We should've spoken with a manager but everyone was just exhausted from the day being up early, traveling and the convention, so we just left to head back to our hotel. Truly disappointed.

The location is great! The food was okay. Very busy during the holiday. My steak was over cooked as well as my friends chicken. The family shared plates were very delicious as well as my oyster appetizer.

We always dine here for Thanksgiving and also celebrate my wife’s birthday at the same time. The food is always delicious as well as the wine. The service is always top shelf professional. I have never had a negative experience at the CG. Shout out to our waiter Wayne. Great job.

Capital Grille in DC continues to be my favorite restaurant. The Kona rub ribeye is my favorite dish. We enjoyed our Thanksgiving meal there and the service was excellent as always. However, Joe's is a whole level above Capital Grille when it comes to the Thanksgiving meal. We ate there a few years back, then went to Joe's for the last few, and back at The Grille yesterday. Same experience each time we've at both. Probably would be good for the Capital Grille chef to pay a visit to the chef at Joe's.

The Capital grille delivered precisely what I had wanted and expected. I seldom eat at higher end steakhouses but this was what I wanted tonight. I knew what I wanted before looking at a menu. From the cocktail to the dinner everything was excellent.

Went for a birthday dinner. It was nice. Service was good. Wish the lights were a bit brighter lol. But the food and drinks were superb. Our waiter bill was on point and even bought out a cake for my mom bday.

The evening started off well with Wayne as our server. It had a really interesting dining area full of character and interesting decorations. The servers that brought bread, refilled water and cleared dishes were fantastic and wonderful. Our main waiter just seemed off and discouraged that he was working I guess. Either way he seemed aloof and after our appetizer and dinner were server essentially disappeared after giving us the dessert menu. Literally 20 minutes pass and then he returns. When we tell him we’re going to just get the check as the other servers have already brought back our to go boxes - he retorts ‘That’s just great’. Maybe it was his demeanor, but the entire night just seemed mediocre.

Wow❣️ The secret to a PERFECT dining experience, and THE REASON to return, is the SERVICE. Yes, the food is fantastic @ The Capital Grille (as it is at several nearby steak houses). Only @ The Capital Grille on Pennsylvania Avenue will you be fortunate enough to find MM 🤫 Despite a Saturday night “packed house”, he makes you feel cared for like his only guests. great stop if you are in DC. Excellent steaks and service and nice wine selection. I had bone-in filet that was outstanding. Service was excellent. Nice place for a Romanic or business dinner. Upscale and a little pricier but worth it for a special occasion.

For these prices, it should be an elevated dining experience. The food was just not good, the server was fine but clearly wanted to close out, and it was$150+ for lunch with only one glass of wine, two cups of soup and two entree salads. Meat is their "thing" and the steak on the salad was basically flaccid. The lobster on the salad was miniscule and tasted like it might have gone bad. An overpriced tourist trap, unfortunately.

Daniel is the best waiter. He is a consummate hospitality professional. The food there is cooked to perfection and comes out expeditiously. Whenever my father is in town, we go and request Daniel. We love the NY Strip Steak and Stoli Dolis!

We had a phenomenal dinner celebrating two colleagues. We were warmly welcomed by the Valet parking guys and the Hostess stand. Our server LC and her team provided outstanding service. Appetizers were flavorful. All four of us had different types of New York Strip steaks. The sides added a tasty accent. LC made a superb red wine recommendation. We had a great evening. Thanks to all who made our celebration with colleagues very special and delicious.
