Revitalizing a nearly forgotten West Broadway space that at one time housed the area’s only department store, Lincoln feels nostalgic. It’s open-air, tiled-floor cafe, grande bar, and soaring, original tin ceilings remind us of a time when dining halls and supper clubs were a way of life.

The food was great and I wanted to make sure we did something in Southie while we were there, but wow it was really loud! We're in our 40s and I think the crowd was quite a bit younger. Menu was varied and service was great. I think if we'd gone in a little earlier, it might have been a bit quieter. I wouldn't let the noise level deter you from going.

This restaurant has one of the best menus in Boston. The food is always excellent. It’s a fun spot and great service. Would highly recommend making a reservation. Also weekend brunch is the best, try the carrot cake donuts you will not be disappointed.

We love Lincoln but have never had a chance to get the tasting menu on Fridays due to work. Well my husband and I finally had Friday off together due to the holiday and of course the tasting menu didn’t happen. Totally understand the issues the server explained but definitely disappointed. We will get it one day!

I’ve been to Lincoln twice and had very different experiences. The first time the food was fantastic, the atmosphere was lively, and the service was adequate. The second time, they had a live band. The food was fantastic, the service was non-existent, and the noise level was intolerable. There are many other fantastic restaurants at this price point that consistently deliver. I wont be back to Lincoln in the near future.

Brussels sprouts appetizer was plentiful and yummy. Red sangria excellent. Jalapeno mashed potatoes fantastic. Short rib was tender but tasted very off. Only ate two bites of it. Extremely noisy but still a nice atmosphere. Waitress was attentive and sweet.

I have not heard music that loud in a long time, and I had to shout at the person sitting right next to me. Its a loud bar for 21 1/2 year-olds. Arrived with a 5:30 reservation, which was fortunate as there was a long line outside. We were seated promptly at a high top next to the front window, and noticed immediately that this place is LOUD. We were in the area to see a show and didn't know much about the place other than we could get a reservation, but this was a pre-show dinner with friends, the sort of encounter where you'd like to be able to enjoy a conversation, but it's nearly impossible due to the din. Our server arrived promptly and took our drink order, but then disappeared for a good 10 minutes before returning without drinks, to clarify one of the drinks ordered. Another 10 minutes passed and she returned with the order, and we decided to get our food order in as we were concerned that the slow service might be a hindrance to our getting to our show on time. We also ordered a second round of drinks even though our first round had just come out, again for fear of slow service. Our server returned unexpectedly about 5 minutes later with our 2nd round, and then just a couple minutes after that the food was delivered. A little confusion as to which plate belonged where (three of four got chicken sandwiches, with various details), but once that was sorted out, we dug-in. The consensus from all was that the chicken sandwiches were excellent, as were the fries. As for me, I ordered the sausage pizza, which is listed on the menu as having pickled cherry peppers, which I must have missed. Pickled cherry peppers is apparently another term for Jalapeno peppers, which I don't mind, but not on pizza. My mistake. The pizza was otherwise excellent, perfectly charred crust, cheese, sauce, and sausage seemed excellent as well, though the jalapeno kind of dominates all other flavors. Overall, the food was excellent, the service, despite the slow start, was also outstanding, and prices were very reasonable. The only downer was the noise, so be prepared for that.

We were in the neighborhood for a theatrical performance and did not know that our reservation coincided with a World Cup match. The place was jammed and the noise level prevented conversation at our table. Food and service were fine. We had been here once before (without a sporting event) and the noise level was quite high.

I have eaten at this restaurant last year while visiting Boston and had raved about it to anyone who would listen since. Recently, 3 friends accompanied me there. I was shocked. It was so incredibly loud we could not speak to each other and once we left our ears felt like we had been at a rock concert. Two of us ate the food we had so enjoyed during our last visit. It was advertised as being prepared the same way. It was not. There was no cream corn under the mashed potatoes, the green beans were soggy, not crisp on the top, and the scallops which were previously delicious, had an old fishy smell and taste to them. We were all incredibly disappointed. We attend the Gold Dust Orphan's play twice a year and will look for another venue in the future. We were as excited about the food as we were for seeing the play and were so disappointed!

Big fan of Lincoln Tavern you can never go wrong there phenomenal experience every time. Very energetic lively place vibes are off the charts, the food is incredible, the drinks are spectacular, and the service impeccable. Our waitress Jen was friendly, attentive, and helpful with deciding what to order because there are so many great options to pick from. Highly recommend Lincoln Tavern for brunch, lunch, or dinner I’ve never left there short of completely satisfied.

We came here for brunch not realizing it would be packed for a sporting event. It was busy and loud which would have been ok if the food and drinks made up for it. I had an espresso martini that barely tasted like it had any alcohol in it and it was made with cold brew, not espresso. The food was mediocre.

Food was delicious though maybe priced a bit high. Noise was on the higher end but we could converse with only the occasional “what?”. Def a nice place to dine but not for a quite romantic dinner.

Come for buck a shuck Tuesdays! The beet salad is very flavorful and the pumpkin cheesecake is fall on a plate.

Food was excellent as per usual. Maddie, our server, was prompt, kind, and attentive. Not much of anything could have improved our experience.
