Giulia is a chef-owned regional Italian restaurant located between Harvard and Porter Squares in Cambridge. It is the first restaurant of award-winning Chef Michael Pagliarini. Its reputation has spread nationally with frequent out of town guests as well as Boston area locals.

Giulia puts a particular emphasis on hand-crafted pastas, made each day on our custom-built chef’s table adjacent to the open kitchen.

Best of Boston Italian Restaurant. All Italian wine list with unique Italian varietals. Local purveyors, dry aged local beef, burrata di andria, stone milled flours, vegetarian options.

Giulia is currently open for indoor dining and limited outdoor dining. We accept reservations up to two weeks in advance. To reserve a patio table, please call us at 617-441-2800. All reservations made online are for indoors only. Kindly note that our patio is uncovered so reservations there are weather dependent and will be canceled in the event of inclement weather.

The rave about this restaurant and despite the difficulty of getting a table, I looked forward to to sampling their culinary creations. The space felt crowded, the waiter, a bit frazzled and dulled. This combined with the noise level had us looking forward to our home setting for dessert. Dishes were well constructed, flavorful combinations but our table lacked adequate lighting. Take out another time?

Giulia never disappoints! Every dish was fantastic. Service was attentive but not pushy. Menu is a great mix of seasonal dishes and consistent favorites. Great bar as well! Nice selection of by the glass wines, and the cocktails are interesting and really well executed.

I felt the pasta dishes were great - very well made and on point. The appetizers were small and overpriced and I did not appreciate the server telling me to buy two apps of one kind (got three different apps) so that everyone would have enough.

Giulia is hands down the best restaurant in Cambridge. The food is always incredible and the drinks and wine are perfectly paired. The staff are so knowledgeable and friendly and will help guide you to the perfect meal / wine pairing with ease. We dine here regularly and are always so happy with our night out. When you dine at Guilia you know you are going to have a delicious meal and a fabulous time.

We had heard a lot of hype about this place and were pretty underwhelmed. It was a birthday and no one at the restaurant mentioned it, service was mediocre, and food was a touch too salty. Fine spot, but not worth the hassle of getting a reservation.

Very sad to see quality drop over my two plus years of dining here. Portions are skimpy - even beyond what you'd expect at a nicer restaurant in Cambridge - and the quality of preparation just isn't there. You will leave either hungry or poorer or - as was our case - both. You can expect singular wads of pasta with broken sauces, a few ornamental pieces of meat. The Venetian fish preparation was completely unbalanced. The sausage pasta with Ceci tasted like a chouriço — nothing wrong with chouriço, mind you, but not the flavor profile that best complements a fresh pasta. The best dish, their signature paparadelle, was good but nothing you couldn't find at a more affordable price elsewhere. Rushed and unfriendly service on top of it. Some points for letting a late reservation slide, and a strong wine list and cocktail selection.

I've lived in Boston for almost 10 years and was finally able to snag a reservation. Hands down one of the best Italian spots surrounding Boston (yes even better than the North End)! We ordered the fromaggi misti and the citrus insalata to start, followed by the casarecce ai funghi and the spaghetti with top necks, mussels, and shrimp. For dessert, we had the affogato. Everything was super fresh and incredibly tasty. Can't wait to go back!

Best Italian food I've had. Order multiple things! For our party of two, we got three apps and three pasts and left feeling pleasantly full. Believe the hype about the wild boar pappardelle. The mixed citrus salad was lovely and light against the pasta and bread.

Friendly but performative wait staff - efficient but a little bit too formulaic. Potato focaccia ok not great; prosciutto presented with a crunchy pear and tasteless cheese (the prosciutto itself good but presentation lacking). However our drinks, one a smoky milky mezcal and a fruity Chianti - were great, as was the pappardelle and beef secondi.

Recommend the bar for parties of 2. It’s more conducive to conversation and more intimate than the dining room where all but one of the tables for two are situated between busy aisles. It’s like siting in the middle lane of a three lane highway.

Lovely birthday celebration. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and creative. The gelato was the best I’ve ever had. Hostesses were helpful and pleasant and the restaurant quietly acknowledged my husband’s birthday on arrival and with a candle in our dessert. Special place!

On a scale of 1 to 10, our food was a 20. Outstanding! One of the best meals we've ever had anywhere. I had to stop people from chatting away at our table to be able to just experience the sublime taste of the main course. Bolognese pasta, fish pasta were incredibly tasty, as was the chocolate desert. We were recommended a very reasonable Italian red wine that was a knockout. The bread, and appys were also perfect. I don't know how Guilia can make food this good, and prices were less than other excellent high end restaurants and not quite this amazing.
