I’ve never written one of these… Got seated at reservation time and no waiter for 30 -40 minutes. So, we went to bar and ordered a drink. Then waiter arrived and we were told “okay great.” Seemed insulted, and they walked away and we had to track down to order food. It was awkward. A gentlemen who got there when we did and didn’t have a reservation, got seated right after us and served in 5-10 minutes. Then after 1.5 hours the host told we had to leave for the next reservation. That’s after it took almost an hour to get food. Great views, but off night with service.

The space is lovely but ruined by how loud it is. Some noise mitigation would greatly improve things.

Came here for dinner & drinks before a show at Park West, sadly we found it to be terribly disappointing. •Reserved outdoor seating week in advance, was seated deep inside next to the restrooms! •The terrible dance music was pumped out so loud, we couldn't hear each other at a table for two! After finally receiving our two beers ten minutes after ordering them, not being able to speak to one another over the extremely loud and terrible music, we decided to slug our beers, not order food, and get out of that place asap! If you love expensive drinks and small plates served over loud trashy 4am club music, with scenic views & so so service, then you will absolutely love this place. I on the other hand wouldn't return if the paid me too!

Terrible service, our drinks took over 30 minutes. Two of my friends ordered the same thing and one came out first with the rest of our meals coming out 45 minutes later when she was already done. Worst experience I’ve ever had here. They were out of almost everything we asked about on the menu and when we finally decided on the minimal options we had, the food took almost an hour.

Do not come here for food- only drinks. Kitchen was backed up and stopped taking orders at 1:30 pm. They forgot multiple other patrons orders/ ran out of food already ordered. Website explicitly says no reservations even though they now require reservations through open table- stated they were fully booked even though all time slots were available. Staff was friendly and drinks were good. Great view if you get the right table.

The service was absolutely terrible, after waiting 30 minutes for our food the server told us 2 of the things we ordered they didn’t have. The bathrooms were a mess, no toilet paper or soap. The place is clearly understaffed and not well run. Our bill ended up being comped without even asking. It was such a disappointment and I will probably never go back

The J. Parker was a let down. They have a terrific view and I'm sure we'll come back just for that in the Summer. If you want to offer small sharing plates then you can't have a small menu with only 5 options. We ordered three things and still needed to get a sandwhich too. What happened to their "Create a Plate" menu? The drinks were fine. The service was awful. If you are a guest of the Lincoln then it would be very convenient to eat here, but nothing about J Parker makes this a destination spot. Boka dropped the ball on this one.

I booked a reservation (recommended) for my fiance's birthday and it worked out terrific. We had dinner first, which was very good, though the menu is small. Dinner can get pricey as the portions are small, but it is worth it as the flavors are excellent. Then we had some friends meet us. The staff at J. Parker was very accommodating to my requests. The views are terrific of downtown, Lincoln park, and the lake.

The service was great. We had reservations and had to wait for a table for about an hour, due to the size of the restaurant when the outdoor seating is not open and the fact that some diners were taking their time. The staff did their best to give us timely updates and even offer a round of drinks and an appetizer on the house. The wait was worth it and the service alone would be a reason to go back. Thank you J. Parker.

The portions are incredibly small and the menu is ridiculously limited. The items were overpriced. Their full menu would, in any other restaurant, be considered the menu for the bar area only. The menu needs to have much more variety and significantly larger portions. One member in our party joked that it's a good thing she prefers to use up her calories on wine and not food, b/c the portions were so small. When I go to dinner, I want standard sized portions with a good menu. Having pike burgers on the menu for an entree is fine. Having them be only (approx) 5" and served without any side dishes is absurd. Even for those restaurants that have everything a la carte, at least the side dishes are "large enough to share."

Good boutique hotel with small restaurant on the top floor. It's a good place to stop and havet tapas.

I went there based on the open table note that J. Parker serves tapas. The menu at J. Parker was somewhat limited and is not tapas in the traditional sense. It might be considered small plates. That said I had their J. Parker burger and it was far from average. In fact, it was quite good for a burger. the atmosphere is more of a bar, but lively and enjoyable. I will definitely go back but adjust my dining expectations.

The food was good. The menu is not extensive though, more similar to a fancy bar food menu than a restaurant. My dinner-mate ordered a burger ($15) prepared medium-rare, only to be told that the burgers are generally prepared medium well or well-done, and that the chef had to approve such an order. Who ever heard of such a thing. The service was also lackluster at best. The wine menu was too overpriced in comparison to the food items. No bottles of sparkling under $100. I bottle of regular Veuve for ~$140? Ridiculous.

This place has a beautiful view and a great ambiance for cocktails. Sadly, the food is not good, the menu is limited, and the service was terrible. So come back for a cocktail and the view, but go somewhere else to eat!

Sent on a Thursday night after the weather had gotten cold. Not much of an indoor spot, with the amazing views going on out on the roof. I will definitely come back when it's warm. Guessing everything improves when there are actually people in the place to serve.

A fun place with some interesting small plates. Amazing views of lake, Lincoln Park and the city in general. What is interesting is that it is high enough too get great long views (13th floor), but not so high that so you get a great and closer perspective of the park and city below. We were there recently in December so the outside was not open but I saw it and it is a great outdoor space. Excellent drinks and just a comfortable but vibrant bar scene. Our service was not bad, but a bit rushed and slightly indifferent.

The views are amazing, the drinks were good, the food was just ok but my guess is that most people are not dining at The J. Parker, they are having drinks and enjoying the view. A plate of sweet potato fries, flatbread or a couple bowls of spicy nuts would have been better and easier for us to share than what is offered. Overall, I highly recommend it as a place for a drink, reservations are very tough to come by on a weekend night so plan ahead!
