We've been coming since JFAT opened... it has always been our "go-to" spot for family gatherings or a quick meal at the bar. We love it here... but we are noticing that it is getting louder and louder! What is going on? Who are these folks screaming and yelling and being so crazy loud? We watched as two tables that were seated, promptly left because of the noise. Not sure what you can do, but we now think twice before heading over.... so sad. Food is great. Good, friendly and attentive service.... but wow.

My husband I are were very disappointed with our experience at Jimmy's. We used to love this spot and it's really changed. The food has changed in presentation and taste. Honestly, it has that "chili's" taste. Kind of like a franchise joint. We ordered the Ahi appetizers like we always do, but the fish is no longer stacked on avocado, its now in a bowl with lots of sauce. Looking around at the rest of the food on other tables, it looks like all of the food has been altered. We mentioned this to our waiter and he told us that they were opening a few other restaurants and want to keep them all the same. I would give it another try, but a bit bummed:( The view is beautiful and the waiters are always very pleasant. Hope things go back they way the used to be!

The sea bass was fantastic. They have a nice wine list and great variety of beers. Appys were darn good too!!

First time to Jimmy's, and first use of Open Table. Was looking for a special spot after picking By dad, Jimmy up a the airport. The Open Table site described the place well and the online reservation was easy to use and followed up with a phone call by Jimmy's staff. Our visit was nice and the food excellent.

Picked based review on Yelp. Good place. Closes at 9 only negative. Wait staff friendly and helpful. Great choices. Price reasonable. Ate an evening meal so cannot comment on lunch or brunch. Would definitely go again. Went during week so not sure how crowded it can get. Noise level moderate, but again went during week. Go for it. You will enjoy it!!

Friends of ours recommended we try this place. Food was delicious and well prepared. Service was excellent even thought the place was full. A good eat.

We would go back here. Rib eye was tasty. They met all of wife's demands for modifications (which are extensive). Minor issues. I asked for my brussel sprouts plain and they came out per the menu. The ahi poke app was pretty spicy.

We have been to this restaurant on a number of occasions, booked on Opentable. Imagine how surprised we were to arrive for our confirmed reservation only to find a note on the door stating they were closed, "attending a party elsewhere". Seriously...will not return.

I've been to the area where this restaurant is and it has become a great place to enjoy having lunch or dinner over the years, since I grew up in Point Loma. Also it is very accessible for those who uses a wheelchair like myself.

Took my management team here for a relaxed, casual dinner near the water and Jimmy's did not disappoint. Unselfish portions, fun server and looking out over the docks were just part of the ambiance. The food, what can I say, but fantastic! I got the Cajun Boil, a take on jambalaya without the rice, that was delicious. I shared it with a colleague who shared his chicken with me. It was out of this world! Deserts followed, which again, were excellent. I highly recommend to anyone visiting San Diego to check out Jimmy's.

We had a lovely family dinner here, great view of the harbor, all of the different plates we chose were excellent. Service was great and there's a nice ambiance for any type of group - our kids (5 and 2) were welcome but the place wasn't overly kid-ish either, lots of dates and groups as well. I would love to return at some point - we're from out of town - I think it would be one of our favorites if we lived in SD!!

Took a girl here for our first date. I used open table to make the reservation and left a comment that it was our first date and that I'd like a good table with a decent view. I had to call and push the reservation back because we were running a little late. I spoke with Jen and she was happy that I called and wanted to get my opinion on a good table, Inside, outside, by the fire bit etc. She was very concerned about getting us a good table so that we had a great first date, I think she was actually more nervous about the seating than I was. This totally made my night and we were not even at the restaurant yet. The food was delicious and the table Jen sat us at was perfect! We were outside by the fire pit and had a great view of the bay. We missed Sunset so we will plan better for next time!

We enjoy celebrating small and large events here as we know that whatever we order, it will be served by some of the friendliest staff and never worry about if all in the group will be happy with the menu ! We love not having to feel rushed and so comfy.

Jimmy's is a top-notch place and if you haven't tried it, you must! Perhaps you are taking a friend to the airport or picking them up, or you work in Pt. Loma or Harbor Island area. Jimmy's is a lovely casual waterfront restaurant with spectacular seafood and burgers! My Mahi Mahi was perfect and my dad loved the truffle fries and seared ahi.

There was the usual too much GREAT food. My guests from Arizona were knocked out by the marina and the water. Such a fun environment with everyone obviously enjoying their food and the whole experience. Very casual crowd but depending on the sports showing in the bar it can get loud, but it is such a happy loud I don't find it offensive

We have eaten off an on at Jimmy's Famous American Tavern off and on since it opened, and the best part is the service is always really good no matter how many in our party, both for lunch and dinner. This was our first time actually making reservations, as we had to drop folks off at the airport, got the time we needed, served really good food - for those of you who really like salads - the kitchen sink salad is a total taste treat! So I recommend this place to drop in, or make reservations - for us it's always been lots of fun and tasty food.

Love the brunch here. Food is delicious. Bottomless mimosas are actually just bottomless orange juice. OJ comes separate at $3 a bottle. Atmosphere is great on a sunny San Diego morning.

One of my go to's when I want a burger, but want a healthier option is the Turkey Burger. It is loaded with lettuce, tomato and red onion and melted cheese. Opt for the side salad.

We had our every other month dinner with 3 other couples here on a Thursday night. I had only been here twice before and we had enjoyed our meals. I'm not sure if there was something going on in the marina, but it was packed! No parking to be had at 6:15 pm and the restaurant was unbelievably loud. Our server was very nice but I think she was stretched thin with too many tables. Food was good - my salad had a couple of ingredients I had asked be left off. Not a big deal; our friends said they enjoyed their meals. We also sat with empty drinks from time to time. I think it was just a slightly off night with a packed restaurant - I'd go back.

Had a great time here for my fiancé and I's anniversary. Food was good and the view made it even better. I enjoyed the deviled eggs as our appetizer and my burger was delicious. I will try the buttermilk chicken next time I visit. I was jealous of my fiancé for ordering it. Overall, it was a great experience. We will definitely be back.

My wife and I went to Jimmy's before a concert at Humphrey's with another couple. It was a great location and we were seated outside. The apps were great and they had interesting drinks. I had the famous short ribs and I was disappointed. They were a bit dry and I have had a lot better at other restaurants. I had a Guinness with dinner and it was flat, so I sent it back. Our server was great and took care of us quite well. My friend had the Sea Bass and he said it was excellent. Overall a nice place with a great location, our meals were hit and miss.

Went in June and we had a great sever, very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. Great fish and crab cakes. I had the fish special and it was terrific. Everyone in our party enjoyed the food. Good for casual lunch and dinner. Definite recommend

Second time here, first lunch. Great sandwiches and salads, and wide open views of the marina. Plenty of time for boat envy. Poke was excellent. Catch of the day mahi-mahi sandwich was great.

I have been here twice and both times have received excellent service. Both servers were enthusiastic about what their menu had to offer and genuine in their concern for us. And it was nice that they didn't overwhelm our table. But I would definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a relaxing evening.

JFAT, as we found they are nicknamed, has great food, a good view especially from the patio, good service, but can be very loud. We've eaten here 3 times, twice on the patio (which has heaters and partial glass enclosures to keep it warm) and once inside. There is a fairly large bar in the center of the restaurant which can get loud and it just carrys throughout the restaurant and onto the patio - the noise is my only negative about JFAT. There were 4 of us this past visit, and we had the deviled eggs (6) appetizer, which were good (they put a jalapeño on top). Our dinner orders were: sliders (thick, juicy patties with onion straws), fish & chips (incredible!), and the sea bass (delicious) , all of our dishes were very good!

Jimmy's really does holidays well. We went for their special Cinco de Mayo menu. Started with the cheesy spinach and bacon dip with crunchy toasts. Our server, Kate, suggested a side of tortillas, as there is really too much dip for the toast. Great idea, it was totally fabulous! We went on to lobster tacos - these were stuffed full of battered lobster, probably the most tender and tasty we have ever had. The side of Mexican corn was fantastic too. Hand prepared Margaritas with real lime juice, agave syrup and good tequila just made the whole event perfect.

I met some friends here for happy hour. We sat outside on the patio - which is good size so you don't feel as if you are sitting on top of the people next to you. There is a outdoor fire pit and a gorgeous view of the boats in the harbor. Everyone liked what they ordered. Best of all we were able to sit and talk while sipping our drinks and didn't feel rushed to vacate the table.

Love this place near our home. Great food, beautiful setting. Had fish and chips and the garden pasta. All was wonderful. Servings are generous. Waiter was polite and helpful. Have been here several times. Appreciate the birthday coupon which is generous.

Jimmy's is a great location right on the marina, so the view of the water and boats is spectacular. They have a great out door patio, but the weather was cooler so we opted to stay inside. Lots of great local craft beer selections, with a good variety on the menu. It was busy, but not overly crowed and they TVs had sports games on, so I'm with a lively crowd it could get a little noisy. There were lots of seating options and it looks like it would be a great place for large group dinner. Definitely a keeper on my San Diego list of good eats!

Once I made it to Jimmy's, I have been back nearly every week since. The ahi stack with the onion rings is to die for. I highly suggest trying it…fun and delish!
