We've had great experiences here- not sure what happened. The restaurant was empty, the meals were not cooked and had to go back, the water glasses went unfilled, they ran out of menu items. Not going back - even though I love the great big zinc bar.

Delicious bistro fare, not outrageously priced. Red snapper with capers and olives was cooked perfectly. Grilled octopus appetizer portion was generous and tasty. The wine list is average but they will let you taste before you decide. Cozy interior could use some upgrades but overall a pleasant night out. Great to go with a small group.

We've been to the Restaurant many times service is always good. The Lobster with avocado appetizer was fabulous followed by the Coq Au Vin special was exceptionally special. The one thing I think should be worked on is the wine list no familiar names makes choices hard. Really good evening 😘

We ate appetizer, starters, main dish and desert in 35 minutes. No time to relax! The waiter wanted to finish as soon as possible his job. While we were finishing our deserts, we saw some waiters crossing the room holding two plates and ate at the bar... We didn't feel welcome in this restaurant.

We had been there before, and the food used to be better. The salad was woefully lacking in the variety of items it used to feature, and everything was only ok. The server was abrupt with me, but brightened when my young companion arrived.

We were four for dinner. They were out of escargot. My friend asked for medium rare lamb. She received well done. Several of the wines were out of stock. We were seated at a too tiny table for four people and we stared at a larger empty table across the way all night. One of us knocked over a glass of water because there was not enough space. We had a reservation and should have been seated at a larger table. We won't be back.

Boulevard 18 once again did not disappoint. The octopus salad was incredible as was the mushroom ravioli. The potato wrapped fish was a keeper! I heartily recommend this restaurant for both a night out or a quick family dinner. It's great.

This is an authentic French bistro and they do that well! Dinner and dessert were wonderful. Our only complaint was a polite but over extended waiter who also had to cover the bar. When a group came into the bar and ordered drinks - our wait time for service was ridiculous. Come on management, you've got the food right so now why not add another waiter or two?

Four of us ate at Boulevard 18. I had gone months ago and years ago and decided to go back with my two adult children. It was sensational!!! We went to the Inn at Pound Ridge by Jean-George last week and everyone though that this was better!!! We had octopus, pate and escargot for appetizers. One was better than the next. We literally said," if the appetizers are this good, it usually means the entrees will be bad." The entrees were fantastic! My sons steak frite was cooked to perfection. My husband had a pork chop on a bed of fresh cut corn and cherry tomatoes that was incredible. I had the BEST mussels that I have EVER had and my daughter had the trout in herbs that was honestly the most incredible fish any of us have had. The food felt homey and chic at the same time. We were blown away and have already planned to come back.

Been there about 8-10 times, but the food and service has deteriorated to the point where unlikely to try again. Too bad as the menu and ambiance has always been appealing. Steak was bad, service was worse (one waiter went home during the meal and the other had no idea about our order). Nice outside setting on lovely evening ruined by meal and service. Took over two hours start to check.

We stumbled upon Bistro 18 when we were in town for a gallery opening down the street. We were there early on a Thursday evening and it was very quiet. The service and food were very good and the portions large. I had a tasty kale salad and sea bass; my friend really enjoyed her tuna tartar and chicken paillard. It wasn't inexpensive but it was good and convenient which was what we wanted. I'd recommend Bistro 18 for a special evening out.

I have been to this restaurant several times. This time I had the roasted herb chicken which was succulent and plentiful. In the past I have had the mussels which were outstanding . The service has always been attentive. My on,y complaint about the restaurant is that the tables are much too close to each other.

This was our first time at Boulevard 18 and it certainly won't be the last! We came to celebrate my husband's birthday! The staff was wonderful. Emily and Henry took great care of us. The house made sausage is delicious. Three of us had the lamb, cooked to perfection per the orders and I had the potato wrapped sea bass - yummy. Dessert? Well when there are profiteroles on the menu, I just have to....again yummy! We will see you again real soon! Lisa and Bruce!

We had the chicken paillard on arugula and the roast chicken with mashed potatos, and both were great. The tuna tartar appetizer is worth a separate trip alone! We live in New Canaan and will definitely go more often.

On our return visit I asked the chef to make the escargots without the pastry caps and it was delicious. We went earlier so it was quieter and not as crowded. I had the hanger steak which was cooked perfectly, but very chewy. The French Fries were good in the beginning, but as they cooled a bit, they became soft. My husband had the chicken which was very good, but rich.

Dinner on a slow weekday. Limited bistro menu, expensive, nicely executed. We had salmon and filet mignon dishes -- both very good in copious portions with vegetables included. Service was friendly and flexible. Interesting and unusual wine choices from the Loire region.

Great neighborhood eatery in an upscale town. Despite the very busy Friday night, the service was top notch. Food was fabulous, as the price indicated. The dining room was very warm and inviting, though tables for two were quite close together. We ran into some friends there.

We were looking for a french bistro style restaurant in Fairfield county that wasn't pretentious or over-priced. Boulevard 18 was perfect. Lovely ambiance. Interesting food with the french influence. Escargot was perfect. Curry-rubbed salmon a delicious change of pace. Service was amazing. $25 corking fee meant we could enjoy our own wine - which we really appreciated since we don't care for french wines! We will certainly make Boulevard 18 a standard on our rotation.

This was my second time at Boulevard 18...what a turnaround! My wife and I last visited in the summer of 2013. The food was good, but our server had an attitude, so, given that there are dozens (or more) of excellent restaurants to choose from in New Canaan, we decided that it wasn't worth going back. Our neighbor convinced us to give it a second try, and I'm so glad we did. From the time entered the restaurant to the time we left, we were made to feel welcome. The hostess was wonderful, the server was fun and informative, and the assistants were attentive and professional. Oh...and the food. My wife had the mushroom ravioli and I had the kale salad, both of which were amazing. We both had the sea bass, which was perfect! On our way out, the hostess made a point of saying, "I hope we'll see you more often". You most definitely will!
