Sampler ceviche appetizer was delicious and my husband loved the lamb shank - very tender and flavorful. And the chili relleno had just the right amount of kick!
We enjoyed our dinner of the delicious ceviche trio, the lamb shank, the scallops, and the churros, but we were disappointed in the wine service. Our two menus had different wine listings, and the restaurant was out of both of the wines we wanted to order.
Incredible food. Chili Releno was one of the best apps we have ever had. Filet and Lamb Shank were wonderful. Highly recommend if in Asheville.
Our favorite place in Asheville!! Food and service are awesome.
Service was super and the food was great. A nicely priced Mexican with a difference. A must if you're in Asheville.
The food and drinks were delicious. I deducted a star because we had to wait 20 minutes for our table.
Delicious way to kick off our week in Asheville. It was everything we were told!
Unusual food pairings. The pork tacos were delicious with the mango margarita and the pomegranate margarita.
Still my favorite go to restaurant in downtown Asheville!
I can’t say enough about how great the food is! I will remember it as one of my favorite meals! We’ve gone twice in the last four days and the food and service is exceptional!
Such inventive food!
Great Food and Service
Wonderfully fresh ceviche, beet salad, creative flavors, great service. Would definitely return.
The food was fantastic - wonderful flavors and presentation. The restaurant is small and tables are closely spaced but it still had a nice ambiance.
Food exceptional as always! Tequila selection perfect!
Fantastic, unique food and drink in a delightful atmosphere
We ALWAYS love Limones...date night fave, never disappointed!
The food always exceeds my expectations. The seviche sampler is always on point with an excellent range of flavor. The tequila menu is also worth some serious exploration to those who are interested. Best restaurant in Asheville no doubt.
Second time coming here for our anniversary. The food was absolutely amazing as per and our server was exceptionally patient and accommodating without being overly attentive nor leaving us wanting. Thank you Limones again for making our night special.
Every bite — we shared Ceviche appetizer and enchiladas mahi tacos and scallops for entrees —was terrific. Must if you’re in Asheville
What a wonderful dinner! Top notch cuisine and service, and so unique too!
We were recommended to go to this restaurant when we were to visit Asheville. I was forwarned to make a reservation weeks in advance. Since it was our honeymoon, and I said so when we made our reservation, we were escorted to the best table in the restaurant and greeted with two glasses of champagne with a great server who made sure we were happy throughout the entire meal.
In addition to the champagne, we ordred two specialty drinks which were a Mojito and a Margarita which were delicious.
The Cerviche Sampler should not be missed. It was incredible. And we ordered two mains of which we shared so we can experience at least two dishes from the menu, since the choices were too plentiful to make a decision. Topped off with a dessert that we shared, this was one of the best restaurants I can remember in a long time. Definitely, the best meal in Asheville!
While we knew from experience that Limones is wonderful, we had friends visiting for the weekend and they loved it! Great atmosphere, fantastic food. Overall, a delightful dining experience.
We set reservations at 5PM and we were sitting at 5:01! The wait staff was of the type that should be found in a professional restaurant. They were knowledgeable and attentive without being gabby. We ordered two starters because we were so hungry! The lobster nachos were fantastic. I ordered the Mahi over greens and lentils for dinner, my wife got the seared scallops over a carrot mash. Both of the dishes were amazing; the fish was not overcooked; the sear on the scallops was perfect. The salt level in everything was appropriate.
This has always been my favorite restaurant for brunch. I nearly always order the same thing. Something has changed at this restaurant. The Caliente margaritas tasted different and my huevos divorciados were not plated the same and did not taste nearly as good as the other times I have ordered it. It was good ... just not the usual great. I hope this isn't a permanent change.
It was good but not for the price.
We moved from the area 2 years ago. When living in Asheville, one of our favorite restaurants was Limones. We were excited to go back for some of our favorites. The margaritas were excellent as was the ceviche sampler. We were, however, disappointed with the lobster natchos, our favorite and their signature dish. It seems as if they have changed their recipe and it wasn’t nearly as good as we remembered. A fun evening, but with one big disappointment.
Excellent service and food. Negative was no chips for signature trio ceviche dish (delish!) if you have gluten allergy. Husband could not contaminate the food with the chips served (on the side) and no chips for me so it was a miss for us. Many gf menu options for entrees a plus ;) Also, flourless torte for dessert not interesting since we can have that anywhere, any time at home. Walked a few blocks for gf tiramisu that was to die for!
Live away, but always include Limones when ever we are in ASHVILLE. EXCELLENT MENU, GREAT SERVICE. WE USUALLY STOPAT THE LITTLE PLACE NEXTDOOR EITHER BEFORE OR AFTER FOR DHENECHE. VERY IMPORTANT TO HAVE ARESERVATION. NOT SUREI WOULD JUST TAKEA CHANE OF JUST DROPING IN.
We love this place! Some of our best meals in Asheville have been here!
My Mother lives in Asheville and has heard great things about Limones but had never dined there in her 10 years in town. We were surprised to get a reservation on July 3rd, and looked forward to our dining experience. Interesting room. Long and narrow, with tables lining the room on either side, with the bar at the end. Decor was nice, classy, but not formal. The wooden tables with rolled napkins looked great. The staff was friendly and nicely dressed in classic black, with very nice brown bistro aprons, contrary to the customary black on black on black.
We were taken directly to our table, and promptly given water. My cocktail took a few minutes, but not through any fault of the bartender, who was clearly busy, but up to the task, multitasking with the best of them.
The menu changes daily apparently, and what we got to look at sounded delicious. My mother had the prosciutto and mozzarella with melon salad, while I had the roasted beet and watermelon salad. Both were absolutely stunning to look at, and the flavors backed up appearances 100%.
For main courses, we had the braised lamb shank for myself, and the seared scallops for my mother. Due to some allergies, she made changes. I cringe when she does this, but our server, who was fantastic, (I regret not remembering her name) was up to the challenge, with nary a grimace or look besides her great smile. Both dishes were phenomenal, both in appearance and flavor. We finished with the tres leches cake. I was lucky I only wanted a bite, as I believe my mother might have stabbed me if I had attempted to take any more.
All in all, it was an outstanding dinner, with great service, outstanding food, and a nice place overall.
My only quibble would be that it was extremely loud in the room. There were what looked to me like sound-dampening tiles on the ceiling, and a few on part of the wall, but they needed a lot more. I could barely hear myself at times.
We've visited Asheville and Limones three times since 2009 and let me say Limones is as good as ever if not better. The lamb shank and mahi entrees were out of this world and so was the ceviche app. We researched and tried a few other hyped restaurants during our stay but they didn't come close to Limones. If you are a foodie, this is a must visit!
Overall well done. This is the second time we had to wait 30 minutes past our reservation time for our table. Wish they would spread seating times at wider intervals
Every dish was flavor perfection! We loved the flavor pairings within each dish. So good!
Wonderful evening. Great food and wine, and an exceptional waiter.
First time there. Moving to area from Chicago, so exploring dining options. My wife had pork tacos and I had blueberry barbecue salmon. Both excellent as was the bread pudding with caramel sauce. Margaritas were only fair. Very good service and very lively, perhaps too much as it was hard to have any conversation. Nonetheless, we will return. Much better than Curate, where we ate the previous night.
Excellent food, great cocktail list and fantastic service! Would recommend this restaurant as a special occasion treat, since it can get pricey. It was well worth every dollar spent!
Make sure to get a reservation
You will treasure the food drinks staff and experience
Frequent diner here on every trip to AVL. This trip, the pork tacos were outstanding...the kimchee setting off the pork flavors was perfect. Lobster nachos are a little different each time I have them, but always great.
Enjoyed the scratch made margaritas, lobster nachos, and ceviche. The food was high quality and the service was impeccable.
