Even our cynical and superior New York friends were wowed by the restaurant.
We sat at the bar and had a wonderful time. The staff was extremely friendly, providing us with great recommendations and creating drinks for us on the fly based on our likes. I could eat the black rice every day, but everything was delicious. We’ll definitely be back!
This is the kind of Chicago restaurant that is cool by comparison to local peers but wouldn’t last a hot second in NYC.
Everything was oversalted, one dish to the point of being inedible. Format was odd - you can order a steak, but you can’t specify how you want it cooked and then it arrives with no sides but drenched in balsamic glaze (and oversalted).
Cool vibe inside, but the food is total crap.
We had a great time celebrating our anniversary at Ada Street. The food was excellent and we enjoyed the tapas style.
Good spot - dark - mysterious. But fun. Plenty of free parking too!
Clever, inventive and varied cuisine mostly in the form of small plates for sharing. Some good creative vegetarian selections in addition to the meat fare. Our waiter was extremely knowledgeable about the wine list and helped us make very satisfactory selections. The service was attentive and well paced and did not feel rushed.
It looks they have a nice outdoor patio for warm nights, but we were there in late October so it was too cold for the patio.
A couple minor negatives: the bench seats are a little uncomfortable and need padding. I could use less music background, but then again, I feel that way about most restaurants these days. The facade needs better signage; it looks like you are about to walk into a private residence... Or a speakeasy. But these are minor points. It was a very pleasant dinner and recommend it.
We love Ada St and always come for date night. This time we were celebrating with family and loved bringing them to our favorite restaurant in the city. Thank you Ada for always serving the best meals and the best dining experience!
The location is very random but the food and ambiance are terrific! Both times I went, I sat at the chef's bar, which I highly recommend.
Service and food was excellent, took such good care of us. Jesse was awesome and one of the best servers I’ve ever had.
Enjoyed everything about this restaurant. Highly recommend it.
Really good food. A little too dark and music was turned up at some point and I felt like I was screaming.
Food came too fast, need better spacing of dishes. They did let us sit for a while to finish our drinks, so we didn’t feel rushed. Overall, food was delicious and service was friendly.
Great add to Fishtown - terrific ambiance, spacious seating, excellent sharing menu
Just a solid meal with some interesting presentations. Unique location in an industrial setting and the interior exudes hipster/cool. Highlights were the shishito peppers (that seem to now dot every menu in Chicago) which were blistered perfectly and the miso butter they bathed in was phenomenal. The steak with balsamic was great too. I enjoyed the gnocchi dish that included dates, honey, carrot and ricotta and tasted like fall.
Second time at Ada St and it was even better than our first time. We sat at the chefs counter and had a lovely meal - they even gave us an extra small plate of the chocolate toast dessert! Love this place.
Went with my boyfriend for his birthday. Was outstanding from the drinks to dessert. Gnocchi Is a must as well as the elotes dip.
Hidden gem of a place in Lincoln Park. The risotto and fried green tomatoes are excellent. Highly recommended!
It was good but small plates. I had no idea it was small plates so I left hungry. Each plate was tiny and expensive but good. The salmon was good, my friend had the ribs and said they were meh the slaw it came with was not good. My other friend had the scallops and said it was good. The elote was good and the bread was good but not $6 good...honestly I would not come here again just got good value.
Loved it! We will be back soon. One of the better small plate restaurants around. Fried green tomatoes were amazing. The vibe is great! Went to the Hideout after for a concert. Great night.
We are on the back patio which was very nice, though there were a lot of mosquitos. All of the dishes we tried were very well prepared and flavorful. My favorites were the heirloom tomato salad, the elote dip and the steak with a balsamic glaze.
Cozy place in Goose Island with great, creative food and cocktails and even better service. Cute little outdoor patio inside of the building... wish we could have sat outside, but it was to chilly, so will have to save it for next time. Definitely recommend!
Ada street is always a great spot to grab some sharable plates with friends or for a date. The lighting, food, and service are all top notch for a good time.
Very cool and surprising location. We had great service and great food
My second visit was as good as the first. Interesting menu, excellent service, and a quiet outdoor patio on a lovely evening.
Enjoyable dinner at the bar with friends before the Hideout. Good cocktails. Good liquor selection. Knowledgeable and friendly bar staff.
Great dinner. Food was delicious and service was outstanding! Drinks were fabulous!
I'm glad that Ada St. now takes reservations! My husband and I had an impromptu date night so we decided to head over. I love places that have "sharing plate"/tapas style options, as you get a little bit of all their great flavors. From the elote dip... to the steak tartare... to the black rice... to the coulotte steak... to the glazed ribs ... to the bread pudding dessert (you get the point)... Every bite was amazing!
The food was not good / too greasy & the drinks were way to fruity / sweet.
Atmosphere is great, as always. Food is just okay, as always.
We stopped in for drinks. Wanted to grab a small bite but the menu was pretty limited. Great ambiance though.
Going away dinner with a friend
What a wonderful place for a meal! Ambiance was subtle and tasteful. Not too loud, good for conversation and enjoying the music, too.The service was outstanding, the food over the top.
Some dietary restrictions for us (No gluten) and the menu was perfect.
Great spot with an interesting setup, the food was excellent and the drinks were well done.
Rocked rocked rocked rocked rocked rocked
Super cool, cozy and dark atmosphere. Bartenders were excellent and knowledgeable! Fried green tomatoes were the best we've ever had. Gnocchi melts in your mouth!
Really interesting location, food and drinks. Not a long memo but everything we had was very good. It is pretty loud.
I took a friend here for her birthday. Everyone was extremely friendly and our server was terrific. She gave excellent advice and we loved everything we ordered. I can’t wait to go back.
Great food, liked the environment, is like a speak-easy version of a restaurant.
Exceptional food. An absolute must.
Eating at Ada St. is always an adventure. Love to take friends to “wierd location for a restaurant “ and walk them thru unmarked door and down dark hallway to lively restaurant/bar. Cuisine is always unique and delicious. Fried green tomatoes on last visit was a real winner!
