Everything was excellent other than the server. He was friendly but slow to show up, forgot details, and didn't list the specials or specialties of the menu - modest to poor service. Otherwise the food was excellent. We enjoyed our time and was hoping Tony would stop by our table. Cheers

Food was a 10/10, it was definitely worth the drive and the price. High quality and very clean, definitely will be going back and the customer service was amazing, they were friendly, respectful and know how to hold a good conversation.

Service was excellent. Food was very good. Unfortunately, hostess refused to seat us in a booth arrangement. She kept saying they were reserved. We had a reservation but she insisted we sit at a table in the middle of the room. Two booths remained empty the whole time we dined. It was also very hot! Warm and humid night and they opened the roof. We were fishing bugs out of our cocktails and shooing them from our food. Sweating all evening was not my plan for dinner.

They seem to have a team of waiters instead of a dedicated waiter for the table. The meatball was enormous as the waiter warned and was tasty. The dumplings were a bit dried and hard. The chicken martini was flavored well and was a substantial portion. Veal chop Parm was good but overly sauced and breading wasn't crispy. We thought it was al a carte but the meals came with sides so we didn't need to order the creamed spinach which was sour tasting, we didn't eat it. We finished with a chocolate lave cake which somehow came out about 90 seconds after we ordered it. It was large and the berries were nice. The host came over and started telling us a joke, but walked away before the punch line and never came back.

I must say Tony's at The J House really impressed. The atmosphere is amazing. The service was impeccable and paid attention to detail. The food was absolutely delicious. The cocktails were delicious and the wine list was amazing. Many choices of appetizers and salads. The shellfish from the raw bar was very fresh and well prepared. The steaks were cooked perfectly to temperature and the choice of sides were plentiful. Dessert was absolutely to die for. We had the Nutella Filled french toast topped with hazelnut gelato and maple syrup. All in all I must say Tony's at the J House did not disappoint and I will definitely be a return customer and I highly recommend giving them a try.

Food was delicious! I had the Chicken Scarp and it was tender and tasty. The Pasta special was pasta, cannilenni beans and broccoli rabe..OMG! We sat in the Patio, which is beautiful. The Service was excellent!

Well I can’t figure what went wrong. Wanted to speak with Tony 3 times. The restaurant wasn’t busy at all and we saw him from far away. He just never came over. In all my past years he has always been very engaging. Sure enough the night there’s a problem he doesn’t come around. Came with a party of six including my aunt and uncle and chose the j house over Valbella. Seems to have been a big mistake. Food was fair as the Dover sole was not pleasant and the waiter should of noticed since it wasn’t eaten. We basically finished and skipped desert. Sorry to say don’t think I will be back. Again it was a very quiet evening so you think they would be around.

Wonderful lunch here on a Monday afternoon. In town from Florida for a funeral and stopped here on the way to Trumbull. Food was terrific, excellent service, and Tony’s personal touch of stopping by the table and doling out trivia questions was fantastic! He has a true gift for relationship building. Fun time and fantastic food!

Found by chance had a wonderful experience, the gentleman at the bar including Sal were Awesome! Everyone was friendly the recommendations were spot on the food was abundant wouldn’t hesitate to go back. I want to keep it my little secret.

This is a wonderful place to dine for special occasions, or if you are just seeking and/or expect luxury dining... anytime. The food was fantastic overall, beautifully presented, prepared and a delight to your taste buds. The staff was good too. No complaints, but also didn't stand out as one might expect at a restaurant of this caliber. However, if you are seeking a meal where the wait staff quietly and invisibly just handles their responsibilities - It works perfectly. We were able to focus our attention and conversation with our table mates and were never wanting anything above and beyond what was provided. We choose outdoor seating, and the outdoor terrace was romantically decorated. (FYI for someone looking for a great setting for that special someone). We were there in the early afternoon for a business celebration, but I suspect the ambiance at night would be spectacular. Our only negative issue was the insects. Eating outdoors always comes with some unexpected risks (wind, noise, insects, animals, etc.) but the bees were relentless! We killed a few of them at our table, yet they kept coming. Management needs to address this because it nearly ruined an otherwise perfectly wonderful experience. If you haven't had the experience at this luxury restaurant - it's worth every penny.

We were a party of nine and had a phenomenal dinner and evening. Everyone loved their dishes. The Dover sole in particular was amazing. It’s a beautiful space and a lively atmosphere and it was perfect.
